  1. Ive had mine from 50,000 on the clock, now upto 140,000 still going strong. Not had any problems, just make sure it has a good service history and looks like its been treated well.
  2. Hi mate, congrats ont he IS. I would top up the fluid and check the fuses first like you said... Not aware its a common fault.
  3. Gotta agree, I dont personally like anything darker that the "sport" tint.
  4. Nice one, looking really good mate.
  5. Nice one :) Shows IS200 is pretty easy to service if your handy with a spanner, done the last 7 OK on my car. They have the intervals as 12k and 24k, when its 10k and 20k Also they have missed pollen filter change as part of the 20k service.
  6. I didnt buy as didnt think it worked with 13902
  7. Nice One, look forward to pics. Im in the same boat atm, thinking about coming across to the new IS.
  8. I use Magnatec 10w/40, the amount you need is 4 litres spot on. You can use 5w/30 too.
  9. Like the wheels and the calipers you got going on.
  10. Looking Sharp, nice work. Yes SRP is mildly abrasive and has filling properties, so its good for light swirlage.
  11. Sorry to hear your bad luck! Will you be posting pics of your bumper repair, as I will be doing a bit of spraying on my IS200 bumper sometime in the near future.
  12. Not sure if this will be of any help: http://www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/IS_98-05/index.html
  13. Nah, straight rotary, so was taking it pretty careful. Random Orbit and Megs machine etc are pretty expensive, so I went for the silverline rotarty at £35 and just did alot of research into machine polishing so had a good knowledge base to get me going.
  14. Just a mini write up on my first go at using a rotary on my car & pretty much third or fourth go at machine polishing in total, after some practising on the girlfriends Clio :thumb: After reading DaveKG’s excellent rotary polishing guide 2 or 3 times (@detailingworld.co.uk) , watching videos on rotary polishing and reading numerous threads in the “Machine Polishing” section of DW , I felt pretty prepared for trying the rotary on my car (Black Lexus IS200). Having used power tools before many times before, as stated in a few threads I read this would give a good idea of the feel and how to control the rotary. The Gear: Rotary: Silverline Orange Backing Plate: Silverline 125mm (until 3M one arrives, hopefully tomorrow) Pad: Megs W8006 Polishing Pad, prepped with a couple of squirts of LT. Polish: Menzerna PO 106 FA Technique: Zenith Point, from DaveKG’s guide. No befores, as my camera is not the best for capturing swirls, plus I didn’t have a powerful light to help in trying to get photos of swirls in the paint. But as you can imagine an 8 year old black Lexus was going to have a fair few swirls, which it did. (Camera not the best for this) Finished bonnet which I completed in 6 sections (After IPA wipedown) A not so great attempt at a 50/50 (without any torch), so is not to clear to see. Collinite 845 Applied: And buffed: And yes the MF on the floor in this one was going in the wash :) The Pad after: The Silverline: All in all I feel it went very well, I could see the polish breaking down as I was going, as described in DaveKG’s guide. No marring or holograms were left, just a clear sharp finish, LSP ready. As for rotary control, I left the machine do the work and guided in with my right hand and it felt pretty natural, there was no hoping or tugging of the machine. I have next week off so the rest of the car will follow then. Thanks for looking.
  15. Any way to remove these or just unclick them, as my car is having a full correction and maching polish shortly. Just make life easier than taping them and dont want to break them by trying to unclip them in the wrong way.
  16. I have the T Mobile USB stick, its ok for browsing and checking emails. But doesnt feels as fast as a normal broad band connection, plus its not really suited for downloading. I only use when Im out on the road and need to check emails etc.
  17. Yeah its a good site and the detailing forum is good aswell attached to the site. Tim is also a sponsor over at www.detailingworld.co.uk, you can see his good rep on there.
  18. Yeah Im the same aswell a '99 on a V, 136k on the clock. Past 4 MOTs been no problems, car serviced myself every 10k. Still drives with no rattles from the dash/interior etc, great car.
  19. Sorry my bad, I didnt check the name on the orignal post. Guess its not rob lol
  20. I got one about 4 years back for my jet ski, its a detachable one, so when its not connected you cant see it. and the power socket is set a bit further back so hidden. Cost about £200-250 I think, this is in Hampshire though.
  21. Im coming to the end of my 2nd set of Kuhmo KU31's sport tyres, got 30k out of each set.
  22. Looking good Rob, only thing I would add is some tyre dressing like Autogylm instant tyre dressing.
