  1. I done the same on my Tezza...... glad i had the basic system I've got the sport so I'm screwed at the moment...if this works I'll owe you a few drinks as a thanks :winky:
  2. Sneeky buggers :( So that must mean that they would have had to carry on making the old model as well as the new one...which doesnt make sense. Oh well. Just got off the phone to my local Lexus dealer, quoted £1000 for a new one....not happy Omg is that how much they cost??? I've not looked into mine yet, an it's been broke for like 7 months lol Next month i might as well start buying a whole new audio system for that amount
  3. I love the 350, one day I hope I get one...(added to xmas list) :)
  4. are the lights hard to change etc? looks a smart mod which maybe in my tiny budget...lol
  5. hehe ok no probs and thanks.. lol I may add some other things to this thread latter that I need help on, so it's not a total waste of time :winky: Ok new question has anyone here ever fitted NOS to the Lex IS200? Is it worth it? Any recommended companys? etc.. How will my insurance company react to it, I'm guessing not good at all knowing Norwich Union
  6. I've checked the forum but it was some time ago since this was asked i think, have anyone bought these so called chips off ebay and do they really make any difference? It's a cheap mod but do you get any BHP out of it? I def know it's not going to be 25 lol.. here's the link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CHIP-TUNING-FOR-Lexu...1QQcmdZViewItem Updated Question for others: Have you ever fitted Nos to your IS200?
  7. Update: Test drove the ST170 20 mins ago or so gotta say it was nippy & good handling. Interior wasn't great but the added features such as sat nav were great. Looking at the outside of the car though it offended my eyes next to my Lex, could you tell the difference between a entry level focus and this one, the answer was no.. Would I still be smoked by ST3's yes..lol so I've opted to keep the lex for abit longer maybe get some mod's going in two weeks time when i'm back from my hols... Yay for Lexus
  8. Surely there's sum legal obligation to tell you if it's unfit to drive like that, go get some new ones fast, but not from them :winky: .
  9. Thanks again everyone for feedback, all valid as each other I was intrested in what you all had to say of course... Little thing that did happen last night though was 2 people commenting to me on how great the IS200 does look I don't feel I can get that from the focus, they do all pretty much look the same except the new ST3 which is not what I'd be getting... But as soon as I test drive it I'll no, I'm under no pressure to sell right now and if I don't like it, i'll be saving up for a S/C and keeping the IS. Thanks all, will keep you updated...
  10. Test drive will be soon this week hopefully... I know what you mean about the Lexus Vs Ford name, I'm already wondering about that and the step back :winky: it's sort of a company car, it's gonna be traded in and I'm throwing a little cash on top. Sure don't have the money to step upto the ST3 etc or a newish car in a higher league.. As i'm 21 the insurance is going to be fairly high on whatever I want if it's above the IS200 I see this car as just a newer car with the same power really.. I will have to check the interior but like others have stated one reason i got the IS was because it's a luxury car but to me as I use to have a clio 1.2 :winky: it has great power 2.. I just don't want to take to many steps back, I'm under no pressure to change... so will take the test drive and make a decison if it wow's me then the option is there, if not I'm happy to keep the IS for another year at least thanks for feedback, wasn't sure what I'd get back cuz I didn't know if you guys have driven any focus or fords etc... I haven't lol Also I do like Lotus Elise :P so I may shop around if this doesn't tickle my fancy...
  11. Obviously you all love lexus and I to do and have enjoyed being here an getting help, but an opportunity has come may way to trade in my Lexus IS200 Sport reg 99... 88K Miles, in for a Focus St170 04 reg and 20k miles.. Have I gone mad to consider a new car? Had the Lex for 8 months I'd say and loved it to bits, no problems so far. I have only made very minor mods to the Lex, wheels and grill. So I am not losing anything (mods wise), do you think I should just start saving my pennys and save for a Supercharger and allow my fun to continue while having a faster car, I still can't see myself spending anymore than the amount to sort the s/c, I can't afford to get a lovely Turbo for the IS. (which would be ideal..) Should I look into this Focus a lot more seriously, it's a 2 ltr and i believe about 170bhp but unfortunetly not a turbo like the Focus RS or i'd trade instantly... but it has a lot of adds like the lex (sat nav) recaro seats, ac, etc... Only thing in my head I can't get over is when sum1 says "you drive a lexus don't you" i will now relpy "No a focus." Give me your opinons please, to stay or not to stay...
  12. After checking the top mount bolts for tightness (OK) I couldn't see anything else that could be a cause.....but you have a good point there, the noise seemed to appear after I fitted new 18" rims with lower profile rubber Yes I have 19's fitted with low profiles, *** it is noisey lol... so much I may go back to originals or something smaller... then again it maybe something else making the sounds on my car, but I do believe it was when I changed the wheels it started I have stock suspension so makes sense
  13. ^^^that is the problem my friends house was robbed 3 times in one year(they knew clearly no 1 was at home at certain times of the day cuz of work etc...), sure insurance replaces it after awhile but it's the fact sum is coming to your home taking your things and sum things can't replaced... Finger prints not found, lets be fair even idiots probably would wear gloves, so we can't totally blame the police etc... Hope you get your things sorted and they are caught.
  14. Nice one Bazza, I never saw it before but looking quick After August I may acturally make it to an event because i will be out of debt lol...
  15. I also read that and laughed...lol Students do get that sort of money but not all in one go & most is already spent on beer so maybe he doesn't go out :winky:
  16. I'm not the youngest I'm 21 now, got my Lex just before my 21st IS200 Sport 99, before that I first started with a Polo Fox the old version not the new 1 :winky: had this for 10 months. And I had a Clio 1.2 Billabong for just under 3 or so years after that (my bro has is not..hehe..), I loved it but it has nothing on the style of the Pimpsus as it's called round here
  17. Same here, so poor now lol but well worth it
  18. I heard cheap and good looking mod so i want so how easy is this? Pop the wheel off and get some special paint and just paint on with a brush? Or is it a bit more technical, what is a hub as u can tell I have no idea about this sort of thing...lol
  19. and price of course...lol :winky: Glad to hear your not injured an the car can be fixed =)
  20. Quick question, do we have to be on the stand as I'm not in the Lex as it's still being repaired :S but should be there in a Celica so thats Jap at least lol.. Is it easy to get out later as I'm not able to stay till 5? :(
  21. Sadly not, I really should start going, i know people who go. Sounds really good...
  22. Me too ...... Thanks Bazza + Janey .......... :D Same Thanks Bazza + Janey See you all there :winky:
  23. I still love the colour of the car so much lol... can't wait to see at Japfest
  24. Just ask the insurers first, see if it even goes up? I know lots of people try to blag it later, but my personal advice is this, tell them. You don't go out looking to crash ur pride and joy, but if it happens you need the insurance. I didn't on my old car I was lucky no acciedent, an now I've had a knock in the Lexus (standard) had i done it in this my insurance could of been in dispute and then ur really in trouble if they won't pay out... I'm only 21 as well :winky: and put my alloys on as the mods, it's a must really, better to pay those extra few pounds then be in 1000's of pounds debt :o
