  1. You need to bridge terminals E1 and TE1 in the diagnostic port (paper clip, or wire) turn the ignition on, and the MIL will flash, say 3 times, then pause, then once, this would give you code 31. If it flashes once every second, then no codes are stored.
  2. Diagnosis won't show up a old/wearing out O2 sensor unless it's broken, but then you'd have the MIL showing and other symptoms. (there's only 1 on the MK1 GS, unlike 3 or something on the MK2, which also has OBDII diag, so that may show up a wearing O2 sensor) 21-26mpg is the norm, nothing to worry about. 32mpg?? possible I guess, but everything would have to be top notch and driven like Miss Daisy.
  3. Could well be the starter, not the battery, no way of checking the battery with just a multi meter, take it into kwik fit or similar for a battery check (they do them free of charge) Does sound like a lazy starter though. P.S them condition indicators are only that, as they only show the condition of one cell.
  4. Enhanced single vehicle approval (instead of single vehicle approval) The biggest difference being, that anything under 10 years old, needs a model report-and these aren't easy to come by if they were never done originally, due to the fact I believe they need crash test data e.t.c No back doors either either I believe, like the 'disabled carriage' registration loophole that some used.
  5. Perhaps they imported it when new in 2004, which I believe the EVSA wasn't live then, just SVA.
  6. With that statement, your the one that's dreaming dear boy. A FMIC is the simplest and cheapest mod?? yeh OK................... Forget 0-60, forget 1/4 mile drag on a prepped surface, we're talking about the real world here. The Aristo has more than a fair chance against a Supra of the same level of tune, same power plant remember, with the Supra being lighter, which doesn't matter a great deal on a rolling start. Quite strange.
  7. Never got round to fitting it before I sold the car. I thought it seemed strange aswell, perhaps their is a different cage to go with it.
  8. How do you come to that conclusion??? On the BOV front, you wouldn't hear the dump to atmos BOV unless you let off during boost. ( or unless you've done a manual conversion)
  9. I've brought 2 of these for different members of my family, as thought they were excellent bits of kit, installed both myself. Perhaps you had a bad install, or a faulty unit, funnily enough they both use Motorola V3's aswell, no problems at all. Strange.
  10. Not possible on the Aristo box but is on the Supra box as has a manual mode.
  11. Don't know about cricket old chum, isn't it something about batting for the other side??
  12. The difference with #2 Optimax is Shell's super unleaded, has a higher Ron, pretty much the same as most super unleaded's. It can be a long winded post, to cut it short, all Jap market cars are desinged to run on 100 RON (the jap standard) But will run on normal unleaded, but with reduced power. If you have a normal GS300 designed for the Euro market, normal unleaded will be fine, super unleaded will give you sightly better performance.
  13. It's basic common knowledge that with induction kits, the engine sucks in hotter air, it's got nothing to do with more air. The air capacity doesn't increase, it just allows air to be sucked in quicker, but with the downside of it being hotter air. In colder weather a forced induction engine can run up to 10% more power because there's more air (denser air) which equals more fuel, which equals a bigger bang. Basic engine knowledge.
  14. Sorry a little drunk tonight, I have a contact in HK who can sort you out parts ( OEM and aftermarket) I'll PM you his contact details

  16. With induction kits, you suck in air that's in the engine bay, as it no longer has a direct cold air feed, why do you think people spend big bucks on cold air boxes?? As for running lean, can't see it myself with these ECU's.
  17. Absolute Bolacks, you'll be drawing in more HOT air. Not really a problem on a N/A, more so for forced induction though.
  18. I knew you said it was a MK2 somewhere, but couldn't find it, now I realise it's in the subject heading :D
  19. Get some for a GS300 but with tapered ends as Mr Morse said, as long as the wheel holes are tapered (the stock wheel nuts are flat not tapered) 21mm head on them as standard IIRC you may want to go smaller though depending on your wheels.
  20. Thats the part number. Your picture is of a VVTI 2jz which was fitted to the MK2 Aristo, which blitz kit have you got?? MK1 or MK2 as the pipes are different as the VVTI has MAF and not MAP, here's a pic of mine
