  1. I think they're Platinums as standard, and should be changed every 60k IIRC. You can now get Iridiums for around £40 for 6, so I'd go for them (and will be ordering some early next week) Denso IK22's if your BPU, IK24's if more NGK also do Iridiums
  2. The MK1 Aristo has a 4 speed box, L, 2, D and O/D. With the O/D light on, it will only select L to D (1-3) won't affect gear change rpm, that's to do with with throttle position/load and ECT switch.
  3. Brabus.......mmmmmmmm, unfortunately not. The Aristo was only available in Japan, it is the Lexus GS300 body with the 2JZ-GTE engine (as found in the Twin Turbo MKIV Supra) and badged Toyota Aristo.
  4. Bit harsh Steve. £2 per mile is pretty much an industry standard. Roadside covers for roadside assistance, plus a 10 mile recovery. Upgrading at the side of the road is normally £80, which inlcudes the first 50 miles free, then it should be £2 per mile there after. The AA is quite a strange company, lot's of the phone operators will give contradicting info, plus they'll sometimes keep their jobs in the system for ages, then decide to hand them to a contractor, making the arrival time 2+ hours after the original call. Although I don't have any cover (I'm in the industry) I would personally go for Green Flag.
  5. Thanks for the image lesson, but if you click on the page twice, it enlarges to the full size page :eerrrmm:
  6. Have a look here, it's for the turbo lump, but belt is identical. http://mkiv.com/manual/manualtt/timing_bel...ment/index.html The 2jz is a non-interference engine (well I know the gte is) unless it's had mad cams fitted, so you should be fine.
  7. I'm not Tom :D I like the stock system, and it would be more than enough for me normally. But the CD player is very fussy in what CD's it will play, and the radio only gets radio 2 and the local BBC and I'm not quite ready for me pipe and slippers yet (has got a band expander fitted but doesn't seem to do much) Also the stock sub is knackered. I'm going for either a single din DVD player with motorised screen with a single din gauge panel underneath, or a single din DVD headunit and a single din motorised screen.
  8. The EDFC units sit on top of the coilovers, our strut brace, I'm pretty sure won't fit, as there's no hole in it for the EDFC unit to poke through :(
  9. It does't really make any difference wether the EDFC is fitted before, after or during. as they only fit on top of the unit's, plus the running the wiring through the car and fitting the control box, doesn't actually effect the time it takes to fit the coilies Have you found a strut brace that'll fit over?? as I'm pretty sure the stock one won't. Think your right on the 32 settings if using EDFC (i fitted some to a S13 a few years back) Looking forward to your write up when they're fitted.
  10. It's fairly simple, I'm no wiring guru, but should be within my grasp :D New headunit, take out the old amp, new headunit to power exisiting speakers with new wiring (or an amp depending on your needs) and an amp to power the sub.
  11. Watching this with interest. Whats the difference bewteen, Flex, CS and Super Street?? And this top mount malarky??
  12. Followed you removal instructions tonight, spot on mate, exacto mundo :D Interested in the finished write up mate, as this isn't my strong point.
  13. Just got one, if anyone needs any part numbers give me a shout. To add, covers all Toyota and Lexus UK models to 2005 and all Jap spec to 2000.
  14. Unless Mer have changed their formula, it used to leave loads of dust residue (was a good polish though IIRC) I've never looked back since using Megauirs Gold range. They do a 3 step kit, which is awesome, no dust in sight. Used to be fairly hard to get hold of, but Halfrauds do it now.
  15. Must have been a MKIII. Defintely sounds like air in the system, never known an air con system to gurgle. As chips says, bleed the system and see how you go, I wouldn't worry about a BHG just yet as the 2JZ very very rarely blows.
  16. Anyone know if the bumper has to come off to get the IC out?? TIA
  17. Won't affect the gearbox at all. Mine are currently unplugged, as trying to feel if there's any difference when driving with ECT on/off ( I drive with it on 99% of the time) but can't feel any difference. But I'm guessing they're the original shocks/springs so got to be pretty worn after 14 years lol. I think I'll be going for coilovers, but haven't made my mind up 100% yet.
  18. Photobucket.com gets my vote aswell. I always resize my pics to 800x600 if showing them on a website.
  19. Good news mate, pleased for you. Asked about the Nexens as read a couple of good reviews on them, and just furnished my new wheels with them.
  20. How much was you looking for the TRD one DB?? Does it need a boss to fit?? Thank you.
  21. Lets hope so. Any idea what the real world value is?? I mean, what do they tend to go for?? On a side note, and off topic, how do you find those Nexen's??
