  1. DEVASTATED!!!! Lexus tell me the car needs 2 new Oxygen sensors, a new catalytic convertor, which with the service will come to £1750.....and the cat won't arrive till the 15th, and I can only have a courtesy car till this monday. O'Dear........any thoughts!!!!......I have told them to go ahead with the work anyways. (wish I had sold it 6 months ago) oh well.....so long as you've got your health! Need a drink
  2. Hi Colin, Not had chance to get it diagnosed yet, always use Lexus Lincoln, so I guess they fit the right parts. Will let you know once I get chance to get it in.
  3. Howdee Folks Had my GS300 2005 for nearly 4 years now, do about 10k miles a year. Check vsc light is back on, meaning new oxygen sensor required. So far it seems this car is getting through one of these every year, is this normal, anyone else have this issue?
  4. Hi Dave...wasn't a problem on my Mark 2 either......it's a MK3 Thing Dude!!!
  5. You need to put it through a full cycle then it will reset itself to one-touch operation, press the open button and keep pressed until it has gone through a full cycle and bobs your uncle.....this also happens with the windows...same applys.
  6. Took my motor for a new ball joint yesterday, and Lexus had the new GS in. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a good car, but it doesn't look anything like as classy as my MK3. Not sure about the quality of finnish inside either.....take alook at the map compartment behind the front seats...terrible. It could easily have had a Honda badge on the back, it looks too common for a Lexus. ...bit dissapointed really !
  7. On my old gs it was the anti-roll bar bushes..........
  8. oooooooooo..............with that missing................don't drive above 43.7 MPH.......your wheels will definately fall off!!!!!!! ............Think maybe your "Air reculate" or similar may not work anymore.
  9. If your buying from Lexus then your pretty much safe as houses'......go in and ask to see the service history, owners info etc......may have been a demo car to start........but as I say...go for the Auto....it's a crackin drive.......and you can use your phone, smoke and drink without needing to worry about changing gear ..............has it got flappydappy gear change on the steering wheel? thats a bonus if it has. Merry Xmas
  10. Think it will need updating at a Lexus Dealer......."Got a credit card?"
  11. Worked for me too Mr Shades............thankyou............. ....maybe you could start a new business.......like the "Dyson Doctor" vans you see going round mending dysons that fall to bits after a few months..... maybe call yourself "Lexus Medic" or summat
  12. The windows should be one touch as far as i'm aware, sometimes if the battery has been disconnected, the windows need resetting.......put the window through a full cycle...up down up all the way and see what happens. Personnally wouldn't bother with the superguard as most of the cost is a bog fat commission to the sales guy, invest in some good quality wax. Nice car by the way.
  13. Your GPS should work pretty much anywhere on earth....so long as you have the correct satnav disk installed.
  14. I don't get it....you would have more fun and a better drive with a petrol version.....and with the difference in cost betwen petrol and diesel.....probably wouldn't notice any difference in running costs. I would say there must be something wrong with the vehicle, take it back to Lexus and get them to sort it.
  15. Damn good post Mr Shades..... ......I don't seem to suffer from the glovebox issue, but the windscreen area around the speaker has blighted me from day one.....not so bad in the summer........and guess what ....I live on the Fosse (or used too until it recently bypassed me) I tried the stuffing of felt idea myself, but mainly around the speaker area, sadly I have managed to push my VIN number in the windscreen into the depths of who knows............eventually gave up...... .....will defo try the above later and let you know how I get on. .....It's rather ***** poor that we need to go to these lengths on a Lexus (never had any issues with rattles on Mark 2 ) .........Cheers, Tony.
  16. Wow....Posted this topic in July..........suddenly loadsa replies....thanks anyway.....all sorted now.....just run extention from centre armrest
  17. Much easier method that is less intrusive which worked for me... as above start with car "OFF" If you carefully poke your finger tip into the ejection gap, just a couple or so Mil in you will feel the DVD. Apply slight pressure to dvd to prevent it from being able to turn, then switch "ON". After a couple of attempts of reading the dvd the system gives up, and gives you the option to eject the disc...........which is nice ;)
  18. Notice that you can now pick up an LS600h for £20k....even more toys... anyone considered upgrading....would running cost be any greater?
