  1. I am going to acquire the prototype Alex is going to market. If I remember correctly the sport grille will be priced at around £110incl postage to UK, far cheaper than an original sport grille for a pretty good replica in my opinion, although it may not include a badge.
  2. Way to go Craig! The chrome grille was good but the sport style grille and eyelids in my opinion is the biz. I have ordered a grille and some eyelids from Alex. Are you ready to declare your hand on your secret mod yet Steve ............ the suspense is painful.
  3. Another one bites the dust! Looks like I will be getting mine from dealerafter all.
  4. Well Here is the verdict.....it fits! It is not very pretty at present but it will get a coat of paint soon. Not sure what colour or even whether I should paint it. I will probably paint the ends and polish up the center bar.
  5. Paul I don't seem to have the right software to view the file you posted. Can you post in the gallery for me. Ta
  6. Colin Lookslike it may fit, just. A photo of my engine bay is in the gallery at http://www.lexusownersclub.com/gallery/album02/Car_Lexus_001. Not sure how to create a direct clickable link.
  7. Alex Could you PM me with a list of bits and their prices that you can get hold of for the JZS147 model. Thanks
  8. Talking of autos. My GS was the first auto I had driven for 10 years. When I picked the car up it was almost out of fuel. I just got to a service station filled up, paid, got in to drive away and could not get the car to start. It took me a while to sus that you cannot start an auto in drive. Felt a right ******.
  9. Steve Don't right off refinishing your wheelsto original spec. Two of the sport wheels I had were corroding beneath the laquer and I took them to Spit 'N' Polish and they recut and polished the face then relaquered them. They are however prone to stone chip damage and I am going to have to get my other twodone soon. I may try Lepsons this time.
  10. I did bid for the wheelson Ebay when price was sticking at around £300 aday or so ago. At £150+ per wheel seems more expensive than cost from Lexus. I was lucky and got mine off a wrecked sport but they now need a refurb. I do like the look of the 10" wide rears but tend to agree that £500 or thereabouts for a cosmetic mod is a bit pricey. Looks like it will be the grille for now.
  11. I have been slowly upgrading my standard 1995 (68,000miles) GS to sport spec. I plan to keep the car for a few years yet. I have lowered it to correct spec, added correct boot spoiler and applied sport decals in right places. I am going to bit the bullit and buy a sport grille as I have yet to find one second hand. I would also like to get a pair of 10" sport rear wheels. Am I mad or will this be money well spent? Would the grand or so that it will cost be better spent elsewhere on other mods? Help me make up my mind.
  12. Seems like a good buy at the price provided it is mechanically sound. The last service bill should identify what sort of work was done. If properly maintained the engine will easily cover 250,000 so you will easily get 5 years use out of it. By the way it is a stright six and not a V6.
  13. Hi Steve Congrats on the new arrival. You were not in West Wickham at about 11am'ish today by any chance as I spotted a nice black Mk1 sport at the traffic lights by The Swan watering hole. Theyu seem to be so rare these days when you see one you just have to drool!
  14. Hi Steve Great news about the Sport. The cream interior does look better than the grey I have in mine. As far as the wheels are concerned if you are near Tonbridge in Kent you can try Spit'n'Polish. I paid about £60 a wheel to get mine done. If you want to keep them original you need to go for the grey paint finish with the diamond cut polished and laquered face. Looks superb in my opinion. Only problem I find with the wheels is that however careful I am I still somehow manage to kerb them on the odd occasion. As far as the 10" rears are concerned we must have generated enough interest by now for a group buy!.
  15. Can anyone advise on which is the best screen wash to use. With the recent cold spell mine consistently freezes. Although I suspect it is freezing in the tubes that feed the jets rather than the resevoir. I am currently using tapwater with a simoniz screen wash sachet and a concentration of rainex screen wash.
  16. As Colin mentioned best bet is the US Ebay. I have seen a couple on there in recent weeks. I was lucky to get my spare on the UK Ebay a while ago for a fiver.
  17. Can anyone let me know how to improve the quality of my Avator. This is the picture I am trying to use http://www.lexusownersclub.com/gallery/album02/lexus_23
  18. That's about it Steve bar some decals on rear quarterlights and front spoiler, oh and a big grin on the owners face!
