  1. I too have had problems with Lexus Croydon. They left the brake master cylinder off my car after a brake fluid check and tried to charge me for a new one when I pointed out the problem!!
  2. Steve He only does kits for the IS at the moment. No call for Mk1 GS.
  3. Congrats on the new look forums page and especially The Garage!! What a great idea.
  4. I have been looking for a wood dash kit to cover the black faced internal parts of my dash to match the existing wood faced parts of the dash etc. I have found a guy in the States who sells through Ebay under the guise of 'Trimkings' He seems genuine and has some good examples of the kits he provides for US spec cars. If we provide photos of a standard UK spec dash and fascia etc he is willing to make some kits for our RH drive UK spec cars but to be viable he needs to make at least 10 kits. The prices quoted are as follows: Price per kit will be $130 (£71) for a minimum of 10 dash kits. Shipping costs for an order of 10 kits will be $80 (£44) This works out at £75.50 per kit approx for a minimum purchase of 10 kits. The current price on Ebay for the LH drive spec kit is £93 plus shipping so seems like a good deal. The above costs do not include VAT payable upon entry of the goods into the UK but I may be able to avoid this by having the goods shipped to a US address and they disguised and shipped on to me in UK as a gift. This may affect the shipping costs quoted above. If anyone is interested we can set up an official group buy through the Club. Let me know if you are interested.
  5. I too have been looking for some 10" rears ever since I bought my GS nearly 14 months ago. I cannot understand why they are so rare. I have seen a couple of Supras with them on, perhaps that's the answer?
  6. Thanks for the reply Colin. Fortunately keys have turned up, my wife had put them in a safe place but forgot to tell me where! I did enquire at my local dealer and was advised that the options were to 'bar' the lost key which has its limitations or get whole security system replaced for mega bucks. Glad I found the keys!
  7. I am interested in headlights but I need them for a MK1 gs. Knowing my luck I expect your car is a Mk2.
  8. New years greetings to all. Between Xmas and New Year I appear to have lost the 'sub' key to my 1995 GS300. I would like to replace the key so I have a spare, is this possible? However, what is more concerning at present is what the implication would be if the key has been stolen. I would like to know if it is possible to recode my master key. My master key is the one which has the remote button on the actual key. Any help and advice here would be appreciated.
  9. If you are on a tight budget I would go for the standard equivalent lowering springs as the standard GS 300 sport. I did this on mine with Eibach 25mm lowering springs from TDI. The price was comparable with other specialist suppliers and the look in my opinion is fine with standard 18" alloys and 40 profile tyres. If you go for 19" wheels the rolling circumference of the wheel and tyre should be no different to that of the standard 16" alloy and 65 profile tyre. With 19" tyres you will no doubt be down to a 35 profile and a very hard ride. With a GS there is no economic solution, you just have to bite the bullet and spend wisely.
  10. Perhaps you could post some web addresses when you find some suitable suppliers. I'll do same. Cheers
  11. C'mon guys, lets not knock TDI now. Like other members I too have bought parts from them and for what I purchased price was competitive and service excellent. I would certainly recommend them to other members.
  12. Hi I have been considering changing mine too. I have been looking at TDI's website, there are some good picks of the HKS (if I remember correctly) rear mufflers. What do you think?
  13. DLJ What injector cleaner do you use. I think my 95 GS300 would benefit from me using some.
  14. I get about 120 miles from about £30 worth of unleaded at 76.9/litre which equates to around 17mpg. My journeys are generally around town at speeds of 30-40 mph. On a good run I get much better mpg. Did London to Manchester on a full tank +£20 top up (one way). I love the car and fortunately for me can afford the fuel cost otherwise I too would probably use a smaller car for my short trips and the Lexus for longer journeys.
  15. Hi mudzs That does not look like a sport grille to me, looks like a standard chrome grille surround. What do you reckon? I think it is being sold by the same company that was selling a full set of front and rear lights on Ebay last week. If I remember correctly they sold for silly money. I bid for the headlights which went for £100+.
  16. Brake warning light on a Mk1 GS300 is certainly the brake fluid level. The level in the resevoir is very deceptive and you need to top up carefully then depress brake pedal a few times then finish topping up. This worked for me but I did have brake sytem checked out incase there was any fluid leaks and all was ok.
  17. Nice one Colin I have been looking for a replacement headlight for a while now
  18. Hi Guys Welcome to the best Lexus forum outside the USA. Andy, check out Ebay for those rear lights. I came accross a set when I was looking for a replacement headlight. They are easy to fit and only require the removal of six oreight nuts oh and the wiring harness connector. It is worth learning how to do the job as you have to remove the light clusters to replace the rear light cluster bulbs!
  19. Hi Steve Great for IS owners, looks very neat. Do you have any ideas for something similar for us owners of older GS Mk1 models that don't benefit from nice neat sat/nav systems. I would certainly be interested in a similar setup for a Mk1 GS300
  20. Does anyone have a spare drivers side headlamp unit that they are willing to part with. I need to replace mine as it has some stone chip damage which I have been advised is an MOT fail item. I am also advised that to replace a headlamp the front bumper has to come off. Is this correct? Thanks
  21. excuse last post , too much of a time lag in posting!! Try:dreams
  22. Hi Looks like liquid leather then. Before I place an order as I will need a scuff kit, can anyone confirm what the correct name is for the grey leather in Mk1 GS300's circa 1995. I seem to recall it as being Cotswold but not sure. Thanks Keith
