  1. I'm seriously considering changing my 220 for a 250. I'm not too sure how the lease would work (I expect it'll cost me a packet).
  2. This is a Monster Cable Ultra-Low Profile Charger for iPod With Dock Connection. It fits under the armrest and works a treat.
  3. Lexus now do a bodykit for the now IS, i have picture of the one I drive, but i dont know how to load it on here, they do front skirt, extended side skirts, rear bumper skirt and rear tailgate spoiler. It looks ace :winky: It's straightforward. Click on the Choose File button, browse for your picture on your PC, click the Add This Attachment button and submit your reply. Job done :)
  4. Most, if not all, commercially produced CDs do not contain the track info. If you rip the cd into iTunes or Media Player and then burn a new copy, making sure you've selected whatever option is necessary to save extended information, the track info should display on the MM system
  5. 6th was pretty much redundant in my car initially. It's begining to become usable at 65 - 70 now (I have 4500 miles on the clock) so just be a little bit patient, it'll come.
  6. If you read what Mr Pants said you will see that you can control the amount the windows open or close, rather than fully open or closed as your Mondeo sounds like it did. I did read it thanks. This isn't control it's having to hold the button until you get bored.
  7. It's the having to hold the button down bit that I don't get. My last car (a Mondeo) had the same feature except you only had to hold the button down until the windows started moving. The car would do the rest.
  8. 60?! How on earth have you managed to achieve that sort of figure?
  9. I have to say (and I'm touching all of the wood I can see whilst I do) that 4000 miles on I have not experienced any rattles, squeeks or creaks. The fuel economy seems to be improving (but still not great) and my wheels are still looking ok. Maybe I've been lucky - time will tell I guess.
  10. Commercially produced CDs do not, generally, contain the extended information within the track file. If you were to rip your commercial CD to your PC / Mac and then burn another copy you'd get the track info. (assuming it was present).
  11. I think you have a valid point viz sitting and waiting vs pressing the button. But doesn't it strike you as odd that the US can have these features and the Europeans cannot? Personally I have no difficulty in pressing the button - when I remember, and that surely is the point. The prevelance of carjacking these days is a serious issue and one which any manufacturer can, and should, do something to help prevent.
  12. The car achieved a staggering (for it) average of 47.7mpg on my trip back from Newcastle to the Midlands today. That includes the urban bits at either end of the journey.
  13. Great review Jamboo. I've had mine for almost 3 months now and I can't say I'd ever noticed having to look around the A pillar - but I guess I will now :) My clutch is as light as a feather... :shutit:
  14. Are the bars and feet from Thule as well? If so what foot pack did you use?
  15. That's an interesting thought. I presume owners will have to ask for the final drive ratio to be 'fixed' after Euro 5? I can't imagine that it'll be a routine upgrade / change like the ECU change. I assume that will not be free but chargable?? it looks like an easy fix. Basically you need to change one sprocket-wheel in the differential and reprogramm ECU to show the correct speed. BUT -the differential may be sealed in special way and maybe it won't be possible to seal it again like in factory -the acces to the differential may be difficult etc. If it will be possible, I don't see that there will be less work than 10 hours + count some sealings + sprocket wheel. Count it together and - would you pay for it? Yes, I think I probably would. Just to get a (more) usable 6th gear.

  17. I'm with Direct Line and they haven't even mentioned it to me.
  18. Treating the car gently and using one gear lower than the one I'd normally use (ie keeping the revs between 1800 and 2700 rpm) is returning ~36mpg over a range of conditions. The car has travelled 2500 miles now and feels like it's getting smoother all the time. What are the changes to the switch positions? Could an 06 owner post some pictures please?
  19. With this thread in mind I tried a little experiment on my way back up to the Midlands from London this evening. First some history: The car is a late 06 model with just about 2000 miles now. My average fuel consumption reading was 34.3 mpg. 6th gear is practically redundant. Tonight I joined the long slog out of London on the M40. Due to congestion at the London end I barely got out of 4th gear. I usually have the instant consumption reading showing and I noticed that even at 3000 RPM I appeared to be getting 40+ MPG. In fact I drove the next 70 or so miles, on cruise at 3100 RPM (clock indicated 80MPH), reset the average consumption reading, and achieved a stunning 42.2MPG! Like most others here I thought that being in a higher gear with lower revs would equal better economy. It seems not. Perhaps the Diesel unit likes being worked a bit harder then you'd expect. Also, it was the first, in traffic, motorway journey I've had in the car where I wasn't having to change gear all the time. Bizarre I know, but there you go.
