  1. thanks! but what i want to know is what colour wires are exactly what so when i'm splicing them together properly with an ISO harness i know what's what. e.g. what colour the rear right and rear left speaker cables are, so on and so forth! i'll double check if i have the amp everyone goes on about but as far as i know if its there its not in use. I'll know more at the weekend when i sort out my aerial reception (dont think the aerial amplifier is quite working...)
  2. I have a kenwood headunit in at the moment. behind the cabling is a mess as its just been spliced together! I need to get hold of a wiring diagram which says what colour cables do what (not for the kenwood). The loom cables are also very short how would you recommend extending them? Ideally i want to extend the cables and then fit some sort of ISO block connector so in the future if i want to change my stereo its not a PITA! I was thinking of getting this to splice this to the wiring loom on the altezza... Toyota ISO Harness
  3. i knew my battery was ****! My altezza has a battery CCA of 360! i was told that's not enough by halfrauds and looking at what you are suggesting that's probably the case!
  4. its ok i'm just intrigued, i'll go have a looky my self :)

    Tyre Choices

I had Toyo Proxes T1R's on my FTO and they seemed pretty good. Are they not a slightly softer compound? I'm after something with good life as I commute an hour a day so I dont want to have to replace the tyres too often :S

    Tyre Choices

£180 for two tyres fully fitted is my absolute maximum! :)
  8. ok so just had my MOT and the rears are borderline so i need to get some new ones ASAP. I've got some quotes and shortlisted Avon ZZ3 and Pirelli P6000 for my budget (on offer at BlackCircles), Do you guys think these would be any good? Also would you say it would be a good idea when doing the tyres to put the fronts on the rears and the new ones on the front? I'm thinking no as the rears are the drive wheels.
  9. Mine does the same thing but i've got an aftermarket stereo and the loom has been hacked to pieces (not by me i might add) so i doubt it will ever work again! although their appears to be a cd/dvd drive in the boot.

    Cold Mornings

just found the figures i wrote down. what I had in was 12V 45AH 330A... based on another thread i've found it sounds way to low!!! http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...&hl=battery

    Cold Mornings

so last night i managed to leave the map reading light on so when i went to the car this morning I couldnt unlock the car (through the fob) because the battery was flat! *sigh* so with the problems i had middle of last week i went to halfrauds to get a new battery! wrote down the specs 330A being the starting power i believe but when i was unable to find the battery i wanted i went to the halfords helpdesk and they said the battery specs i quoted weren't enough for my car! so if its not 330 what should it be? i'm a little confused :( anyways i bought a 330 battery which has gotten me out of the initial problem.

    My Blue Bird

i'm liking the wheels! is it ok to have bigger tyres on the back? have you done that for a purpose or just for looks? :)
  13. well this is the thing! I had a service done the other month and have the oil replaced in the box but the garage didnt know where the filter was and how to get to it :S I think i might be having battery problems (as in it might be ******) so i'll probably have to take it out to replace it so that should reset the gearbox and various other ECU related stuff :)
  14. oh crap i mean to put this in the IS200 Transmission forum! :( can someone move this if it needs to be?
  15. I've got a 5SPD Altezza RS200 but i believe my questions are more autobox general related :) 1) in colder weather is it expected behaviour for the autobox to be sluggish in the mornings? clunky changes perhaps and/or staying in gears a bit longer. I always find this happens but during my commute to work its all nice and warmed up and changes are as expected 2) Does anyone know where the autobox oil filter (Altezza RS200, 5SPD) is located? I'm thinking i've answered my own question (1) but just want confirmation

    Cold Mornings

the tezza struggled to start again this evening for the trip home although it did eventually start on the first turn :( thx, what battery do i need to buy?
  18. this is the first time its happened but this morning the car didnt start first time, second time it did but it took longer than usual to crank. is there anything i should look out for if this happens again? should I wait for a particular time before trying to start the car again? how long should I try starting the car for if it doesnt seem to want to start?
  19. is that the Gearbox Oil Filter?
  20. does anyone know what i should get and how much i'd need for an oil change?
  21. Would IK20's be ok for a standard Altezza RS200?
  22. i had a similar problem although it wasn't my only key, my key was just stuck in the ignition and wouldnt come out or twist to come out. I had to get a new lock set which consisted of 3 keys, ignition barrel, barrels for the doors and boot and that set me back £300 odd quid including labour. that wasn't with a Lexarse dealer tho i might add! :)
  23. perhaps i should check this on mine :)
