  1. pah nvm. The MMSport ones look nice tho, $350 = £175 I'll have to think about that one
  2. yeah i saw that but I would imagine there was a way round this. I didn't think they looked cheap tho, I thought they looked better qualituy than the DEPO ones. I may be wrong tho. Can you post a link to them on My.is. I couldn't see them.
  3. well they are $350ish dollars which as roughly £175, probably the same as DEPO with a group buy and a good exchange rate. Will let you know if I get in touch, if not I will email them over the weekend. I'm pretty sure they are all the same ones. Black Diamond.
  4. I found this website of a company in Florida who make a variety of LED Rear lights and Black Housing Headlights. I am looking into the DEPO LED ones but thought these were nicer and with the exchange rate being as good as it is then it might be good time to take advantage. I have also heard the DEPO ones aren't too reliable, is that true? Does anyone have these on their IS and can comment on them? If I got in contact with the company and got a price would any of you guys be interested? I am trying to get in contact with them by phone but no luck so far. (work phone ;) ) Only thing which worries me is that they are called feint lighting (faint lighting!) Let me know what you reckon. Personally I think the dark ones would look lovely on a Platinum Ice car. Feint Lighting They do a range of nice looking LED Rear lights and Black Housing Headlights as shown.
  5. hehe you should work at my place mate. We have an entire production line staffed by fit Polish birds. The guys on the other side call it the 'Carlsberg' Line ;)
  6. :tsktsk: If you want to discuss illegal activities then do it outside of LOC. I was of course joking and would never consider taking such action, however I consider myself warned and will STFU (considers wrist slapped) apologies
  7. Where do you think the supply of second hand cars come from? the second hand factory? :winky: D'uh of course not mate. It depends on your POV. The inital buyer of the car drives the market for new cars, if you buy second hand you are not driving the car market par se. The OEM's make no money out of the second hand market. Its all the people who buy a new car every two years that cause the problem.
  8. I try my best to save the world I really do :)
  9. :tsktsk: If you want to discuss illegal activities then do it outside of LOC.
  10. thats why i never drive over 30 in a built up zone, but why have a 30 zone on a road with fields either side and not a house for miles? I just feel a bit victimised and think the whole system needs rationalising
  11. Just popped out for lunch and watched a guy in front tip an entire MacD meals packaging out the window of his car into the road. Thats the sort of thing that really pisses me off. Yup having worked in the industry I guarantee that the energy and resources required to make the car far outstrip the emissions during its lifetime.
  12. Cyclic or not I still think we should be acting more responsibly regarding how much we pollute the environment. Its a finite resource and we can't carry on like this forever, especially not the the population growth we are experiencing on the planet. But I guess the LOC forum is not the best place to discuss this. We aren't exactly green are we. But then again it takes many more resources to build a car than run it for its entire life, so as long as you buy second hand then really you are helping the environment. Its those who get a new car every two years that should feel guilty ;)
  13. I had a broken radio with my IS, best to get the dealer to change it for an aftermarket stereo. Ok you lose the 6 CD changer but hey, its all MP3's these days isn't it. Welcome to LOC
  14. That'll bolster the car industry nicely and screw up any environmental improvements they are planning. ffs
  15. I'll let you know. But I have the Rover back (pah) so it might be a few days until I run this tank down
  16. Pirate Pete, just out of curisity what MPG are you getting ? and are you Manual or Auto please ? When last run I got 320 miles before the light came on, mainly town driving. I changed the filter halfway though and reset the ECU. So I'll see what I get this time round. Mind you I have been using the Lexus to get to work this week as the old Rover (my vehicle to get to work), has started to rebel cos it sits on the drive all weekend while the lexus gets my attention, the clutch cable went in a spectacular fashion on Monday within 5 minute of the front exhaust box starting to blow. It knows its days are numbered I suspect. I'm toying with the idea of getting Denso Iridium sparkplugs to see if that can improve the fuel economy, mind you they were only changed 12k miles ago, and I don't know whether that would make any real difference. BTW i'm driving a manual sport version
  17. erm the third 70ish would have been in a 30 zone!!!! but I take your point. The problem to me is that the speed of roads is totally illogical. They should rationalise the speeds 20 mph in heavily built up areas near schools. 90 on a motorway on a clear day. That sort of thing. Car technology has come on massively (with exception of Rover perhaps), but the speeds haven't changed since the forties. Where is the logic in that.
  18. Which is it 7cm or 7mm? You don't wanna get the wrong size do ya? :winky:
  19. Yeah a community sentence. That'll stop the buggers doing it again *sigh*
  20. A fair point but I have several points on my license, most of which were accrued driving just a few miles an hour over the limit on A roads on clear sunny days. To stick to the limit religiously would require you to watch the speedo continuously and not the roads. 3 points for doing 68 (limit 60) on A380 through cornwall (downhill camera at bottom *sigh*, through bodmin moor!) 3 points for doing 37 (limit 30) on A road after Much Wenlock (no houses or crossings, woods either side) 3 points for doing 36 (limit 30) on A road in Kidderminster (no camera or signs visible, days before they had to show them) So yes I was speeding on all occasions, and am happy to admit that but it was hardly 120 on the motorway or 38 past a school on a weekday. I have not an an accident in 18 years, so am I justified in getting banned after the next infraction. I don't think so tbh. These were done in a blimmin Rover 200D, hardly a deathtrap of a car. Money making scheme, pure and simple.
  21. How did you find a picture of me on the internet. Have you been stalking me or something? I also admit the skirts I had in mind were a bit more dream than reality, but the rest of it would be feasible. I mentioned this to the wife and was gently reminded of the fact we have a baby due in 3 months (like it had slipped my mind). I may have to make do with some LED lighting and be happy with that for now. But one day.......one day...........(drifts of)
  22. with the filter and an ECU reset I get 50 miles more per tank, thats only the results after one tank of fuel, but it does seem to make a difference to the fuel economy. Worth £40 imo.
  23. oddly enough it came to me in a vision whilst visiting an ancient Indian burial ground. No it was google. :)
