  1. So I woke up this morning and had been dreaming about winning the lottery and getting my Is200 pimped up to the max. From (fading) memory it was jet black, with blue under car lighting, HID lights, smoked rear lights, batman-esque skirts, blacked out windows. Under the bonnet it was pristine clean, lit with blue cathodes, with turbo, NOX, all the gubbins. Inside it was black leather with blue lit bash and interior lighting, DVD player and PS3 on the screen built into the dash, riddled with speakers, and a sound system that could be heard in space. To top it off it had a very stylised white vinyl skull and crossbones covering the rear drivers side. Unfortunately I am feeling a bit 'field of dreams' about it now. "If you build it they will come" if you catch my drift. oh dear this is not good. not good at all. Just thought I would share with with you :) Is this normal for LOC users? Or is it me?
  2. "No, wito-san very special poodle have hooves, imported from famous poodle breeder in erm Wales" Gotta be a spoof no-one is that thick
  3. My wife has the same problem grrrrrr.
  4. Gutted. Mrs P has double booked me for Sunday, and in true Pirate style we didn't tell each other what we were doing. So unfortunately I won't be able to make it. But I guarantee if there is a Midlands one soon I will definitely come to that. Sorry guys but I was really looking forward to it. Next time :)
  5. Black Bezel won't affect the light output at all, so the MOT bloke would have to be playing his face to fail you. Its only the reflector that throws the beam onto the road. When you open the light you will find that the bezel is a normal plasticy material (probably ABS or PC, it will say on the back >ABS< or >PC<), but the reflectors is a fibrous thermoset material (the back will be rough to the touch), and will 'ping' if you flick it with your fingernail. The bezel and reflector will be separate pieces. Just paint the bezel and you should be fine. Try not to handle the mirror surface of the reflector though as this will affect your headlight beam and may cause early degradation of the vacuum metalised surface. ACC in the states, the told me to send them back and they will swap them out. TBH, i'm gonna see what it looks like with just the big ring first. Might just scrap the whole idea though. I wouldn't mate I think they look good, certainly give more 'presence' at night
  6. Ok sorry about this bit of pedantry, but the red bit on the pic is actually called the bezel and the silver parts is the reflector. Obviously don't spray the reflector black as black absorbs light and might make it difficult to navigate at night :)
  7. Sidelight regulations aren't very tight, angel eyes should pass the MOT easily by my reckoning. Which part of the headlight are you gonna spray black?
  8. Maz are the rear fogs red? They look white in the picture?
  9. My first car (at 18) was a Renault 5 I had to get a bank loan for. Crashed it 2 months later. Nothing worse that paying for a loan for 5 years for a car you wrote off before the first 6 months, didn't know too much about insurance at the time so didn't claim (as it was my fault) older and wiser now obviously
  10. Maz, where did you get the clear fogs with the LED's in from mate. In fact where did you get the LED rear cluster from too?
  11. Mine feels ok (But its all relative as my previous car is so embarassing I'm actually not going to tell you what it is). But I spoke to the Doctor yesterday and once I've resolved a minor knocking issue I am going to go and pay him a visit.
  12. don't panic your not the oldest :)
  13. You can have a english breakfast that is good for you, grill the bacon and have an organic sausage (fnarr) grilled as well, have scrambled or poached egg, grilled shrooms, a real tomato rather than tinned. Or if you have to fry use olive oil. Guilt free English brakfast the Pirate Pete way (well the Mrs Pirate way anyhoo)
  14. well there is that yes. I'm just saying that I think it may be a bit dangerous as well as illegal. White light to the rear is not allowed except on reverse lights. Also the beam pattern from fog lights is very tight (5degrees up/down, 15 degrees left/right) and 350 candela, more if it is white. Very foggy night, lonely road, car behind thinks you are reversing towards him, when really you just have your fog lights on? mmmm Sorry read post above properly....... Yeah red bulbs are ok or a red lens (or even a red reflector for that matter)
  15. I bought a Clarion DXH665 and although the OLED is blue its quite dim and all the button colours can be adjust (using RGB scale), I got a pretty good match to the orange. Except sometimes when I am alone in the car, at night........I set it to rotate through the colour spectrum psychadelically. wooow Its was about £240
  16. Welcome to LOC I'm new here myself, but its been a few years since my twenties hehe. And yes they are certainly luxurious.
  17. If you now have white light from your rear fog lights it may affect your MOT. Reg 38.0 states that they should be red.
  18. yeah Jamie, K&N panel filter, sure the car had a touch more poke this morning :) The old one looked clean but did have some bits of crap in it
  19. Are they marked 'EFI' and 'ETCS' fuses on the fuse box? if not how do I know which is which (I haven't been in the fuse box yet to be honest). Will it affect the sat nav settings? scratch that. its on the underside of the panel found a post on the search function showing how to do it. I'll take the Lex to work tomorrow and do it there during lunch.
  20. BTW K&N panel filter arrived today and is fitted, but I haven't driven the car yet :)
  21. i got 278 last fill up presumably the best way to reset the ECU is to disconnect the battery for about 10 mins? will this eff anyrthing else up and is it worth doing?
