  1. For around 3/4 months sometimes my car jerks when it pulls away and you either have to put the clutch down to ease it or speed up. I at first thought it could be down to the timing belts etc as they needed replacing but Ive had the all three belts replaced last weekend and I felt a massive different in the way the car feels the jerk as slow started to reappear. It normally happens on wet or slight hills which make me think it could be the tensioner??? Anyone else have this? Do I need to take the car back to the garage?
  2. Just incase anyone else is interested in prices. The local Lexus dealers were: (Bristol & Cardiff) £333.00 (for just timing belt to be replaced) £421.00 (for timing belt and tensioner) Said you dont need the idler pulley changed!!! ?? (wont accept LOC discount) Local Garage price was: £375 (For new timing belt, tensioner, & idler pulley with labour & vat) So mines booked in for next weekend so ill ket you know how it gets on and ill get the garage to keep the belts so i can take pictures of what condition the belts are in a 80,000 - just incase ur wondering to try and make 100,000 before changing!
  3. I got a quote from Lexus Bristol and it was £333 for the belt to be changed. I then went to my local garage and asked to see what they would charge with offical lexus parts and they quoted me £395. Its worth shopping around the different dealers/garages and see what deals they will do but bear in mind not all Lexus dealers will accept the gold membership discount.
  4. Number 1 looks much better, the other looks like a badly fitted blind! sorry
  5. Sorry to let the side down!!!! I love my car but recently the central locking sensor has failed £400+ labour, ball joints need changing and one fog light needed replacing but I still love it and dont plan to change it - even though it drinks for England!
  6. Sorry guys, wont be there this year. Looking to take the cars over in July/August for another blast around the track! Have fun and enjoy ur trip.
  7. Now ive been working hard, putting on 40 pounds, aged 50 years and also hiring this lovely suit but Hay its Christmas so here goes! (now ur all know what i do for a job!) And i also found this on the net! Merry Christmas everyone and hopefully we will all get the IS-F that weve wished for (when it gets released!!!)
  8. Coke advert with class! Well done!
  9. I'll try and do some more research and try and find which part has failed and i'll let you know. Cheers for you help
  10. After hunting around all the fuse boxes in the engine and the footwells, does anyone know if there is a fuse that powers the central locking system - as my sensor in the car seams to of failed and lexus are happy to charge me for a new sensor at £400 + labour/vat but I'll rather try and rule out every possible fault before I give in. (Ive changed all the batteries in my keys and still no joy)
  11. Lexus Bristol have quoted £333 for the timing belt to be changed and £357 for major service (80,000) this week - so there not far off. Ring around local good rep garages for a service. The cam belt wont need doing on your car until 60,000 miles or 6 years whatever comes first.
  12. Lexus dealer have said that that is the fault without looking at the car - just going on what ive said over the phone with reguards to changing the bateries etc. I'll try and see if there are any fuses or something else that might of gone wrong before I hand over my blank cheque!
  13. Spoke to Lexus today, will be £400 to order the part plus labour costs etc :tsktsk: (ive changed all the batteries in the keys and still no joy)
  14. Hi sorry to bring this up again, yesterday i changed the batteries in all my keys and still had no luck using the central locking, Is their something else I should check before i look at getting the senor replaced (fuses etc). The senor is the one on the dashboard next to the sat nav gps receiver??
  15. Ive got to work this morning, locked the car as normal and left it parked up. When I return afew hours later to get some stuff out of the car I noticed that the key was not unlocking the central locking - amusing that the battery was dead in the key I unlock the car manually only to set off the alarm and :tsktsk: off everyone around me! After a couple of minutes the alarm turns off but everytime I open the doors the alarm will go off again. I put the keys in and started the car but it still would go off!! When i got home I tired my spare keys only to find that the car was still not unlocking or locking!!!! Is it known that the senor in the car has failed and im going to have an expensive repair bill on my hands? Or if there a fuse to check or something like that?
  16. Cheers for that, I’ll speak nicely to the misses and ill get contact with them to order one. Your cars looking amazing now - really nice body kit. You’re going to have to stop modding as your costing me a fortune - I see it on yours and want it!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Where did you get the roof spoiler from??? Cant find it anyway?
  18. Im a local too, meet Rolex once but name a place and time and ill check the diary!!!
  19. Ive been quoted £265 for parts and then on top labour and vat = £350. Guess looking at the prices above thats getting ripped off!
  20. Ive got a local garage getting back to me about the price to change the timing belt/tension belt and air con belt and they have told me that they will only use orginal Lexus parts. Due to local garage reps etc and I want to make sure im not ripped off!! I just wanted to check with you guys as I know some of you work within Toyota parts etc and should have a rought idea on how much these are going to cost? Many Thanks
  21. After coming home from work today ive found that someone has decided to rip off my numberplates, while my car been parked up behind my house!!!! :tsktsk: Ive contacted the police who have reported the plates as stolen and updated the PNC - but have informed me that I will probably get stopped over the next couple of months as the car will come up on the police computer and might get the odd speeding ticket etc through the post Yeppe!!!! Has anyone tried the anti theft plates? Are they worth the money?
  22. Not just a pretty face!!!!!!!!!! :winky:
  23. mine was £185 if i remember correctly, lady in the post office said it was because my car is pre 2001 so there is a loophole in the classing so it not the £205 like the newer models!
  24. I should be travelling back from Carlise that weekend, so we can probably make it.
