  1. just checked and what they offered you seems a good deal if your line rental stays at 30 quid
  2. What deals they offering to new customers at the mo? I'd check that out and use as bargaining tool....Always push for more and you may just get ;) What do you mean !!!! You haven't considered an iPhone!!! Good luck and whatever you get please let us know and post a review
  3. Not something I'd suggest doing.....Turn off all the aids, spin your wheels until you wear down the snow and get traction again - to go shooting off without any of the aids to help....:whilstling:
  4. needs a new post cat o2 sensor...beware as dealers charge a small fortune for so try and source a generic or one from elsewhere. Fitting I'll leave to my is counterparts to comment on but guess you really need the car raised.
  5. Go to garage (or buy yourself a reader) and get the codes read - Dont reset the ECU again beforehand though
  6. There is also the "proper" way using a reader where you would read the codes prior to resetting. No point now the ecu has been cleared and a garage would be non the wiser and have to check everything
  7. wow...my neighbour used my car whilst I was away ...
  8. Have you ever dealt with Sky customer service? They couldnt give a flying fish about anything ....they'll just say ok and let you cancel.....Which is absolutely amazing considering the efforts they make in attracting new customers....
  9. Good luck....by the way...as you reset the ECU the way you did it will have also reset the memory and no faults will remain for anyone to diagnose.....hopefully no more probs but if you do have any in the future, get them read before you reset.....otherwise you'll pay for nothing
  10. Is it definitely at a set speed it always came on or specific revs? Reason I ask, I had problem where engine light would come on at 4800 revs and hard throttle - Using my ODBII reader it came back as a VSV (Vacuum Switching Valve) for the ACIS (Acounstic Control Induction System) - All sounds very fancy but basically the valve lengthens/shortens the effective length of your manifold to aid efficiency. Kicks in at 4800 revs and 60% throttle Not sure if IS has similar installed but you really should should invest in a reader (they are very cheap) or drop off at a garage and get the code read if it happens again.....theres hundreds of reasons why it can come on and you will not normally guess...
  11. Disgusting customer service. You didn't take his family to Disneyland for 3 weeks, provide free garage services for life or arrange for the entire cast of eastenders to sing merry Christmas to him without anyone dying when he collected the car. All I can say is, if all traders were like you , the world would be a better place.
  12. given you can get good Piccie with the non sky box it doesn't sound like anything to do with your tv or vision distance. Swap the scarts over between the 2 and see if it reverses the problem. If it doesn't then either poor installation (alignment) or faulty lnb / cabling. Probably the former. Other thing is weather can affect sat and give bad reception so also see if any better when sky clear- but could also indicate poor alignment. Does the picture pixellate at any time or freeze? Or just not very clear?
  13. so Lexus gb ok with you slating Lexus on the forum but not to mention the franchisee? One other thing is the fact that in every post you have made you propogate the fact you are a webmaster with hundreds of sites. I'm not sure what this has to do with the issue and is the main reason I am suspicious. I can't help think there is a little advertising here.
  14. all sounds a bit odd to me. All you have done is moaned and made threats about a dealer without naming the offender. It is therefore of no use to anyone on the forum and it appears from your knowledge you don't need any help. Either name the dealer concerned so we all know or stop moaning. If all your account is true then there should not be a problem in naming the dealer. If you are genuine then I wish you all the best in resolving but IMHO something doesn't add up here Also, what law are you referring to regarding still advertising a car that is sold?
  15. 1st ones had the older master cylinder .... Would have thought a 2001 wouldn't be much more money- infact due to our excellent (LOL) government and potential retrospective taxes you may find it's a little cheaper but you stand the possible risk of being hit for the over inflated rfl if it ever happens. Finding one though may be the main problem
  16. Its all the pre 2000 gs models Inc 300. Please don't be put off...just check....models after this date are not affected as have a different (bigger) cylinder so 2001 model you are safe.....also you could find one that's some miles away from 100k. I like my V8 too ;) 1 thing I can guarantee- absolutely everyone that ever gets in your car if you buy one will come out with the same words...."wow! This is a nice car and it goes like Xxxx off a shovel". ;)
  17. ok, thanks for the help. When looking at a gs430 to buy, how would I check for this brake master cylinder issue exactly? Ive looked on Ebay and there arent many around.... are they are rare car to buy or is a just a question of keep looking... 430 very rare...ref the brake master...wouldn't buy a pre 2000 that's approaching or over 100 k unless it's been replaced already IMHO Anees comment a good one ref the v300 vertex but don't think you get leather? And I guess rarer than the 430
  18. 430 wasn't avail until oct 99...so you'll struggle to get a 98 one Really depends on the things you pointed out but a good well looked after one I guess around 4-5 k...walk away if no history and with the older ones beware of the brake master cylinder issue at around 100k miles...2.5k for a new one! Believe the sport is lower by something like 10mm and has a sport grill.
  19. dvla usually deal direct with you. They will send new tax disc and an envelope for you to return the old tax disc Log book (v5) you have to send away or can do by going to local dvla office Don't forget about your mot too (if applicable) Insurance- Should not make any difference as it's not affecting the value of your car- You are simply given permission to use the plate on that car and insurance wouldn't pay for a reg as it can't be stolen as such. As others said, you may be hit for an admin fee - but many don't
  20. Can vouch for the Parrot kit......Had the colour screen one a few years back and no-one could tell I was even using a hands free kit.....
  21. Thats terrible news Chris and hope everything turns out alright for you.....Although I'm a big believer in the fact that these forced changes often result in a positive change in the end..fingers crossed this is the case for you
  22. Quad core is always going to be more future proof but you havent mentioned the prices for either - If its hugely more expensive then I'd debate whether was worth it....
  23. All I know is that I am now earning approx 3 times the money I was earning 11 years ago - due to promotions - But I actually feel worse off I'm going to bookmark these threads and ressurect at not the next election - the one after that - just to remind us all.... ;)
  24. Chuffed this morning - my Season 1-6 box set turned up this morning (present for someone for xmas) - Ordered it from Hong Kong - took a bit of a flyer as ridiculously cheap compared to the prices here - and the website was down as of Monday so thought I'd just lost my money.....but turned up this morning - all perfect..... ;)
