  1. ps welcome to loc- may see you around as I work in nuneaton ;-)
  2. sport is 20mm lower, 18" rims as standard and has different grill and front dam spoiler
  3. Look like the 3 bears - Baby, Mummy & Daddy bear ;o)
  4. Seems like an opportunity for a sparky on here :winky:
  5. Slightly but I heard on the radio just about Detroit in the US - Due to the # of reposessions - house prices have plummeted - $250K houses now selling for less than $40K - plus others are being given away for $1 - as the banks just want the bad debt off their books Hopefully similar will not end up happening here
  6. Did you replace any gaskets with new ones or re-use any? Could be an air leak.
  7. Yes its DVD based....Think I remember seeing a spare socket on there - will double check though....ta
  8. Personally wouldnt wait for the MOT - You are putting unnecessary strain on various parts of your car. Also - Know nothing about MOT's - anyone on here comment on whether a slightly warped disc would result in failed MOT or do they even check? Notice you live in Manchester area - Anees / Gord / others may be able to suggest a decent place to get checked local....
  9. Anyone know if this works for the GS OEM Satnav? I'm a sucker for gadgets .... Excellent find/post by the way Parthiban
  10. Agree with Dan....Get your discs checked first - costs nothing to get them checked.... Otherwise you are into the horrible realms of Lexus vibration - Youve at least eliminated the wheels as a source (buckled rims can cause) but as youve swapped with another then you can discount that. Ball joints, Rotors, Stuck calipers, Geometry .....unfortunately the list goes on what it could be....I just thought it was the GS that suffered but appears theres a few IS out there too.....
  11. not to sound patronising but you have put the disc in the right way up ?
  12. your wheel won't fall off but you should get it sorted asap- car was designed with 5 nuts and that's what it should have Just check they haven't threaded your studs and that's why it's missing. Happened to me at Lexus dealer
  13. believe the pcd is same for all Lexus cars so ok there Offset- you need 50 - any different will affect cars handling (change track width) prob in a negative way Guess the IS wheels may look a little thin on your GS as GS wheels would be 8J normally on 17" Again-if thinner will affect the handling
  14. perhaps so but you do get free unlimited access to bt openzone and the cloud wireless hotspots Don't think you get that with other networks although I stand to be corrected on that
  15. You cant blame the iPhone for the network coverage - and pretty soon the 3G iPhone will be unlockable to any network.... Re your other points - It can do both of those things with the appropriate apps loaded - It can also act as a webserver in its own right and therefore you can allow other people to browse your iPhone as if it were a website - and download any file from the iPhone to any other web enabled device. Voice guided GPS - Agree - It hasnt got that - but yet - I'm sure people are working on it.....Previously had an iPaq with the Pocket Excel/Word etc however found them completely useless - IMHO A device that small is never going to of any use for creating spreadsheets etc - But the iPhone does have read functionality for office formats and PDF's - so you can view what people send you if you need to. Blackberry - FACT ? Again its personal preference - I'd prefer my iphone to a Blackberry anyday.
  16. The iPhone is the most customisable phone I have ever had - Mine is totally unique - looks and behaves unlike any other iPhone - due to the extensive applications and customisation tools available. I chose to add these applications - all free of charge - which means I only get the functionality I want/need. Why people keep saying it doesnt support basic phone tasks is confusing the hell out of me - My iPhone does everything that any other mobile in the country does in terms of phone functionality - What is it that it cant do? I dont work for Apple, its the first Apple product I have ever bought (apart from my 1st gen iPhone) and I'm not trying to force it down anyones throat but I think its the dogs.....my opinion only - but I'd strongly recommend to anyone who was looking at getting a new phone - if they needed more than just a phone. Take yesterday for example - I had a meeting in London. I was emailed the address which I picked up on my iphone - The person I was meeting had included their telephone number - this was automatically highlighted in the email by the iPhone - when I clicked it I was presented with the option to call, text or add to my contacts. I clicked the address and it opened up in google maps to the correct location. I then used the iPhone GPS/Route to get there. On the way I had several calls on my bluetooth handsfree. One call requested I send a document I had to a colleague - I pulled over - connected to my corporate network using VPN , opened my exchange account and forwarded the Word document to him. Whilst there, I used the wireless network and checked my exchange email account - again over VPN I was able to take short movies / pictures of the equipment I was being shown - and email them straight to my boss for review. I was also able to browse the internet and my corporate intranet in order that I could provide information and documents that were required that I had in the office. I could also remotely connect to my office PC using VPN and VNC software. When I was 3 miles away from home - my iPhone automatically texted my wife to let her know I was nearly home All using a single device that fits in my top pocket. Having looked at the SEX1 - It looks like a complete blatent copy of the iPhone - but with a pull out keyboard. I'm not sure what this is adding - and wouldnt personally use a pull out keyboard myself....the one on the apple screen is perfect for my needs....Not so sure it will be as customisable either...given the OS its running on.
  17. definitely sounds like air lock to me. Have you got any ramps or other method to raise the front of car? Then undo rad cap, and start engine- topping up as required.
  18. guess it's one of those personal preference things Apologies to Gord as we appear to have hijacked his original post
  19. I would try changing the default channel first - easy to do and no cost. Had same situation myself- changing the channel worked wonders
  20. you got probs with range or just looking to use second router? One should be enough for most houses unless you have a mansion. Interference can cause probs though or obstruction If you not having prob then I'd just sell the other on eBay If you are- would look at other things first before complicating the network or spending money Check everything is transmitting at full power. If there are lots of other networks locally- Set yours up to use a different channel. This can dramatically improve range.
  21. is car still under warranty or you just talking the battery If car, let them sort it out without you trying to suss If just battery warranty then option c looks best to me. If there's an issue elsewhere they will be very quick to point it out
  22. Not really true, have you never seen anyone using a Blackberry or the iMate with the keyboard? Anyone who actually uses one for work does.......... I have to admit, the iPhone despite being a little useless as an actual tool, is seriously cool which is why I still want one, but it is annoying how everyone seems to have one now as a fashion item........ Once it supports HSDPA I'll probably end up getting one because as a web browser it is fantastic, and the phone features are slowly being improved :) Why do you say its useless as a tool? 3G for web browsing using Safari which is fast and intuitive WiFi Bluetooth connectivity iPOD for music (Ive got the 16Gb version) GPS integrated into google maps (so you dont need to purchase other maps) Phone SMS MMS (via free app) Email (including Exchange capability with push email) Loads of free apps and very customisable Camera (which can record video via a free app) Direct iTunes access Direct YouTube access Accelerometer - which can be used by various apps and or games - Eg. I have an app on mine that acts as a spirit level. Built in Word, Powerpoint, PDF etc viewers so you can open attachments / files received. Calendar with synch to Exchange / other email clients Contacts management (which can also synch with Exchange / email clients) Stock / Share updates Weather forecasts - customisable to multiple destinations in the world Alarm and reminder functionality Oh....and its continually being updated free of charge .....
  23. Having looked at it online - seems a blatent copy of the iPhone - only it wont be as good - cant see anyone ever actually using the pull out keyboard either.
