  1. Hi Steve, Yep they work for me. I must be getting old i either like flat faced wheels that are easy to clean or dark wheels where the odd bit of braje dust isnt so noticable steve
  2. So you didnt have difficulty putting the aerial back in? I've snapped 2 new ones and now have to go to lexus to get it fitted. I cant get the bottom of the aerial where the olive is, into its shaft...applied so much pressure trying i snappped the mast... Lexus tell me they only supply the one type for all pre 99 models....but it was slightly different from my original... Hi no no problem refitting.Just as you say follow the guide on lexls. When i ejected it and cleaned the splines i could see the end was still angled to a point and not snapped off. also like i say just straighten the aerial as much as you need to insert fully before turning off key to make it pull back in. Q what is the olive piece ?. Just read your text again why do you need to apply preassure ? its just a case of feed cable into hole wih teeth facing aft 400mm and whenn it goes no further turn off the key and it will just need feeding in as it pulls the cable down . No forcing or preasuure needed. cheers steve.
  3. Everyone who comments on my MKIII remarks as to how quiet the engine sounds and, when I tell them its done 188k, they are gobsmacked. I agree mines also a 95 and exceptionally quiet 187300 on clock, mileage is not an issue as long as its got good history, most other makes of cars are well tired by these kind of mileages .Ls's are nicely run in lol steve
  4. Hi, aerial fixed !!! it must have lost its seating when retracting.. I followed the lexls tutorial for removing and refitting the mast and its now working perfectly.. Lubed up with some wd40 , i think maybe too much oil caused it to slip before. Id suggest trying it luke, i did it on my own but easier with a helper and make sure you straithen the end of the nylon cable (it helps it go in better than with a curve in it). its a 10 minute job. thanks steve
  5. Could you all enlighten me? What do you oil it with? (the aerial, that is). Thanks. Hi , i use 3 in 1 oil. The general stuff in the little black and white tin with the red spout. Good point is this the wrong stuff ? Alao was thinking maybe just eject the aerial assy and re insert and see if it re seats itself. Cheers steve
  6. Hi Guys, My aerial has started making a burp noise when seating fully down . It sounds like the motor is trying to pull it down after its seated and its grinding the teeth on the plastic cable. Its less than two years old and has always been regularly oiled (the aerial not the car) Im guessing therse no adjustment and il need another replacement soon, has anyone else had a similar fault? thanks steve.
  7. Hi , was followed along plymouth hoe and about a mile more by a very clean series4. Possibly lowered and maybe aftermarket huge rims. Just wondering if it was a member as u dont see many LS's around these parts. Cheers steve.
  8. Hi, is it the right hand rocker cover ? I'm looking on a iPhone so can't see pic to well lol Steve
  9. lol ,good point mark .I sppose i have it out of habit. I wonder how many LS owners do or dont bother with it ? steve
  10. Hi all, have owned my 95 series 3 for two years now and have just found a new feature ive not heard mentioned before. In the coin tray (lower right hand side of dash) there is a CARD HOLDER !!! totally useless, but its there. Ive put my breakdown card in there cause ive got nowhere better to put it. Well hope it was new to somebody lol, probably on other models too. Steve
  11. My Update Re-checked the pad wear sensors today and fount the rear was loose and could possibly touch the disc shield ,so have retaped it and tied back out the way ,Have now had two drives and no lights so im hoping this has sorted it. Not sure why the brake fluid light was on and not the pad wear light but if its fixed then hey lol... thanks for the ideas. steve
  12. Superb video also worth checking out the treadmill video by the same group... good track and amazing balance steve
  13. Yep checked the tail lights and all bulbs secure. All the pad wear wires have been capped off due to excessive expense to relace them but will check them again thanks roy. Also noticed if i start car from cold and sit in park and idle and press the brake pedal lots of times that can trigger it. Also have a click on pressing brake pedal by the gear selector (under) am guessing this is a safety switch do with haveing to press brakes to exit park but never noticed it before as usually have stereo on before moving off. am guessing this is normal ? Think im out of ideas if the click is normal and pad wear wires are capped ok. Thanks steve
  14. Hi Keith, thats a good idea.I fitted a new bulb a few months ago so its possible. Ill check when it stops raining lol Thanks steve.
  15. Hi if anyone can give me some ideas id appriciate it. My problem is after 15-20mins town driving the brake fluid warning light comes on and stays on. The brake pedal feels normal and works and stops as usual. Ive checked my rear lights and all fine . Ive removed all wheels and pads ok with no visible leaks on brake hoses. Wheels spin freely, nothing binding. Ive checked the fluid resevoir and run it on minimum and maximum levels with the same result of light coming on. Ive removed the sensor to resevoir connection when light on and engine running and the light stays on when sensor disconnected. Now run out of ideas and next stop is boooking it in to my local specialist. Thanks for any ideas steve
  16. Would be good if a few mk3 owners could do it to see what variance there is
  17. Hi steve, measurements as promised. front- both 15 3/4" n/s/r- 14 3/4" o/s/r- 15" Done on level ground, 3/4 tank of the expensive stuff, and each corner "bounced" first to settle the spring. hope that helps, steve.
  18. Hi, just read your request, ill do it when i get home tmoro nite and give you front and rear height of mine , as a guide.Mine seems fine. steve
  19. Yep let us know what happens, i had my complete boot out for the last 3 weeks drying it out and sealing evrything i could think of. Kept hosing it down and opening boot and still getting leaks even after the silicone repair. I think my original rubber was too far gone . the new rubber has sorted me i think. I ts nice to have a clear rear screen. The leaky boot is a annoyance to many owners. Good luck steve
  20. Hi , thought id post here just to remind people of this option for the leaking boot syndrome, I dnt think newbie is on here anymore but found this solution for the wet boot problem. Ive recently tried all the usaul fixes and still had a wet floor so did a forum search and this post came up. I ordered and fitted the new seal about 10days ago and boot and rear screen have been tottally clear from any moisture/water. Excellent company to deal with and seal came next day as promised. 10 mintue job to remove old rubber, clean seam fit new seal and trim to size. job done. Hope it helps someone. Steve.
  21. Hi, how about fuel filter and the trans will have it's own filters inside. Steve
  22. Hi Guys , been following this post as ive recently done the boot seal / silicone bead job and im still gettting water in the n/s outer well. What part of the light assy needs sealing ? is it just the push in plugs? also could it be the black plastic piece about the light in the drain channel? thanks steve.
