  1. Hi, Just an idea, i had a heat shield rattle just at certain revs when pulling away, upon inspection it was some loose stones caught up inside. Easy fix and may help you, steve.

  4. Hi , have just noticed a small leak coming from the interior light assy just infront of the slide switch between the moulding panel and the h/liner panel. Just a few drops on the center consol. Have slid the moonroof back and theres no build up of water forward and the seal looks ok. Does anyone know how to remove the light assy panel (dont want to force it). And any other ideas welcomed ... thanks steve
  5. hi , sounds like you got the same goo out that i had in mine. Glad i didnt have to strip mine apart though lol. at least we know what to do when the other side goes the same way !! cheers steve.
  6. Problem sorted , exhaust blowing on flange just below n/s cat . Didnt sound like an exhaust thing though. Local lex specialist sorted it for me. Thanks for advice though. steve
  7. Hi Guys, my Ls has recently developed a lumpy tickover like an american v8 muscle car. Car starts and drives normal and revs drop to normal when warm. Have got plenty of oil (changed recently) and not sur what else a non mechanic can check. Car drives fine with normal power and no warning lights but lumpiness can just be heard. Any ideas greatfully recieved thanks steve
  8. used an airline with jet attachment on washer jet today in work and the little bugger took it for abbout 5 seconds then blew out a black messy goo. job done now works fine. also blew ou the pollen filter at the same time , job done, steve
  9. Hi Steve, I have tried everthing to unblock the drivers side washer jet and have now resolved to removing both jets and giving then a good clean or buy new. Do you know how you remove the jets without cuasing any damage, It look a fiddly job. Hi , Yep its quite easy . open bonnet and look for a black oval blanking trim- gently prise off with a flat blade s/driver (i did get mine off with a finger nail) being careful not to drop it into the e/bay. Its difficult to see into the hole due to location but the jet is held in place by a upper and lower spring clip which is part of the jet assy. again using a stubby flat s/driver its a case of pushing this into the main body of the jet when you get it right it should lift a little on the bonnet, then its just a case of wiggling it out so to speak. Best to do this when you have the new jets to go straight in else you will have to clamp the hose to stop it falling back into the hole. am takiing mine into work ttommorow to airline it out. steve.
  10. Some quality posts guys thanks. no the price was a guess lol yes i had the day off work Will strip jet down and remove ball over w/end, i didnt know it could b removed so will give it a try, and with an airline if not ill bite the bullet and buy new. job done. Never thought this would take more than an hour to fix !!! steve.
  11. Thanks steve, will give it a go, should have been a simple job lol
  12. hello, Ok its been very cold lately and like most people have been using de-icer and scraping the sreen 1st thing in the day. And with no clues the driver side washer jet just stopped working, Ive topped up the tank and passenger side is fine. Ive removed jet from car and water runs through pipe smoothly so its definatley the jet. Now thinking this would be a five minute job im now posting on here for help an hour later... I cant clear the jet... ive soaked in boiling water.... ran a hose pipe through it (best i could) ...wd40 ... and switch cleaner and no joy . If you blow through mouth u get a few bubbles but its a strain. Any ideas or is a £42.50 trip to lexus for a new jet (price may well be accurate lol) thanks steve.
  13. Hi Thanks , will speak to my garage and see if the labour charges would make it unfeasable to replace first, not a job id even caonsider myself kik/
  14. just realised we are practically local !!, not a lot of south west owners lol
  15. hi, bigjim and welcome, i bought my 95 just over a year ago and the only thing that doesent work is ...... yep the heated seats !! it is a common problem and as pete said labour work be expensive to have it done profesionally. Ive decided to live with mine as i really dont have the ability to strip the seats and put them back togetger perfectly. if you do decide to do the job yourself let us know whats involved and how easy it is. cheers steve.
  16. good idea baz, will have to sorce and price to see how feasable this will be steve
  17. hi and wekcome, the pollen filter is located in the glove box (lower) behind a pull down cover. if memory serves it just pulls out and in , be sure to look at which way up it is. steve
  18. Thanks, good advice , will be looking into those products. cheers. steve
  19. Hi, LS passed mot today (YIPPEE!!!!!) another years motoring ahead. But ... i had 1 advisement that may be of interest to older LS owners. The rear subframe has surface corrosion mainly on the outside edges by the wheels but also across the center bar to. Apparently they are seeing more of this as the years pass and its a cost prohibative job to replace the subframe as just about everything would have to come off. As well as sourcing a good frame. They have advised me the best course of action to slow the process is to wire brush off as much corrosion as possible and waxoyl as much of the frame as possible. Its a job for a workshop with a pit or ramp or maybe the portable ramps but not sure wether the boot overhang would prevent revesing onto these. Access is limited to how much of the frame is visible but i will be doin mine as and when i can sort some ramp time out somewhere. Hope this helps and when you next get your car in the air (lol), check the rear subframe. steve
  20. hi rob, i use fresh without a/c and recirc with a/c . thats how i was told to do it anyway. i have checked boot and all footwells and all are dry which makes me think i dont have a leak. also usually drive with windows shut if that makes a diff? . will get somes moisture absorbers today and try that thanks. steve
  21. Hi , im pretty sure i dont have a leak into my car but every day its cold and i use the car for commuting the inside glass is absolutely soaked when i return to the car at the end of the day.All windows the same and after sitting with the a/c and front demist on for about 10 mins with little effect i always give up and wipe with a sponge leaving me with a soaking dash (not ideal). Where is all this moisture coming from ? im talking cold days with a/c on and 22deg on journey to work with maybe a little misting on the inside glass but nothing unusual. car is parked all day with no rain and when i return 8hrs later its like the glass is sweating from inside . any ideas what im doin wrong or how to stop mthis would be appriciated. does anyone else get this? thanks steve
  22. hi, sorry 1st chance to get back sice posting.. to cover some of the questions and thanks to dj wozza for getting some done for me lol 1. a m8 did it for me and i made the cuppa's but it is well within the abilty of most people as no extra wiring is needed yo just connect the kit. 2. mine are slightly blue with a clear white view, but have checked with my mot guy 1st and he said they are ok as long as the kit is 'e' marked and their not rediculously blue. i would say 6000k and 8000k are the ones to go for 6000k for pure white and 8000k if you want a slight blue tinge. 3. ive never used fogs with mains but can definatly say they are better than ordinary lights on their own. Giving a whiter light (without the yellow tinge lol) and slightly further lit into the distance. Its more like daylight than ordinary h4 bulbs. Heres a brief guide to how mine were fittted. Remove top air intake cover across front of engine and front of air filter box and filter and battery bracing. (all for access) Remove four bolts holding headlamp . Remove gently and disconnect each bulb connector as you can reach it. Remove top h4 dipped bulb from h/lamp and place in hid bulb. around the dipped and main beam bulbs on the rear of the lamp is a rubber cover . the hole in this will need to be enlarged to accept the rubber grommet fron the hid bulb leads but is easy to cut and feed the leads through. The leads from the hid bulbs to the ballast boxes are easy to connect and only fi one way anyway. The manual makes connecting the leads easy . the only prob;em my m8 had was conncting the hid positive and neg leads to the original harness connector,as it has 3 posts. This was sorted by using a multimeter with the ignition and headlight switch set to on to give a feed. by trying two post at a time you can tell which is pos and neg. no reading is wrong pair, -12v,,, reading is posts reversed and 12v reading will tell you which is pos/red and neg/black and then its just a case of puting the red lead in pos and the black in neg. all leads were then insulating taped up and the ballast boxes were cable tied under the airbox and to the side of the battery on the other side. refit headlights and enjoy. this is very basic description as im not overly mechanically minded but i would say as long as you have access to a mulitmeter and maybe another pair of hands to help handle and remove the hlamps it should be possibel for most people. It took 90 mins to do all in and if i did it again it would be an hour. steve
  23. Hi guys Have just purchased a HID KIT off ebay and fitted today. Well impressed with results and much improved on a 95 LS headlights. H4 8000k kit fitted from a seller called "J_A_M PERFORMANCE" £50 AND £10 delivery. Order from his shop as its slightly cheaper than ordering from main listing. 8000k gives clear white light with nice blue tinge but you can specify the k you want when purchasing. This is a amazing price for what i think is a quality kit. Am thinking these were abot £250 a few years ago. Hope this helps someone. steve
