Interesting,,, ive only just started looking in this forum and like many just wash ,hose, and chamois with an occasional wax if im in the mood. It does appear there a lot more to it lol. Clay bar is to be my first job to clean the paint , will be looking forward to seeing the piccys !! steve

Probably too simple and already checked but, Are the inner surface of the alloy and the hub it bolts too clean ? a small amount of dirt or grit may prevent the bolts securing the alloy flat. steve

Please Steve, do not borrow the saddle soap - it's named as such for very obvious reasons. Think for a moment, about the difference between the leather used for a saddle, and the environment it's likely to be used in, and that of the car's seating/interior - they're a world apart. Spend a bit of money doing it properly and safely via LTT Solutions or Furniture Clinc - both have the right products to do the job without risk. How lucky... just logged on and read your post pj, was about to use on car in about 5 mins !. will check out sites you recomend . Just a thought ... How many of us have the luxury of being able to garage our cars every night? I dont ,,, but only because it wont fit in ,,, ive garaged all my cars before the ls. Hello , Have been on this site for about a year but have stayed in the ls400 forum .Have just looked around this forum and was amazed how much more to car cleaning there actually is !!! lots of products ive never heard of lol. Here's my question .. Ive grey leather in my ls and it has ground in fine dirt (black streaks) in the creases of the front seats. How do i best tackle this? Have tried autoglym leather cleaner and cream and they look brighter but still streaked with dirt. Are they past help ? Also will have to learn more about paint finish products as i only use autoglym super resin and xtra gloss. There are probably better products, What is a clay bar??? Thanks for any help. steve.

hi, im in the same boat with my pipe. it costs about £67 for the pipe. Another member posted how to fix ages ago, ive got the page saved in my favs but dont know how to link it to you . ive tried a search using the title " egr pipe how to fit fast" but i cant find it . that is the title though. Hi ,, yep £1100 is in the ball park, allowing for service history ,condition etc. Yours looks sweet. Common fault an Ls's is the power steering resevoir o'ring underneath the assembly. The oring is a couple of £ if memory serves correct. Someone will post the part number for you. It is a possible diy job but i had mine done by my garage as it was in for other work at the time. Thanks - explanations taken on board . This is my first auto car so am still leaning (a year on lol). And would never do anything detrimental to the ls as any major repairs would probably be to expensive.... said remembering my mot's in dec lol. steve

Hi and welcome, depending on when the (0) light shows it could either be low pads or a rear bulb blown as it double purpose. Check ur stop and tail 1st , you may be lucky ! steve

Hi The wheel bearings on the 400/430 are absolutely amasing, when its off the ground give the wheel a gentle spin and it goes on forever, I'm sure others have noticed how well the cars coast, they seem to go on forever. I see BMW are just advertising low friction wheel bearings on their latest cars.... a bit behind the times.... However £3k to replace seems rather high, are you sure it’s just the bearing, the only thing I have seen is a new rear hub AND bearing on fleabay USA brand new for $200. I would get your mate to ask exactly what he is getting and maybe try an independent... Pete With regards to the wheel bearings is it ok to slip the auto into neutral when on a suitable downhill stretch and back into gear when needed? or is that just a silly question!! else i cant see the point of a free flowing bearing in a car thats alwats going to be in gear. If that makes any sense. steve.

Hi all ,, just to confirm the series 3 has a EGR valve, mines blowing and can be heard under load but isnt giving any other symptoms. Its on my list of to do jobs lol. steve.

Hi Guys, my local lexus independant i use has contacted me with a request for a power steering pump for a 93 series2, if anyone has a lead to one. Its for a customer of theirs who has used them for many years and they would like to source one for him as the local lexus main stealers want £540 genuine. Hi, Dont know who to speak to so im gonna try posting here, Ordered and paid for two items last tuesday 9th and have not recieved anything yet. Its been 6 working days and both items were listed as in stock, Have emailed the club store two working days ago and no reply (which i think is poor !!) Does anyone have any ideas what my next course of action should be ? Has anyone else had problems ? cheers steve..
