  1. i agree with T7RY and Keith! double standards. saddly i cant see it changing any time soon.
  2. car log books? i reckon the Bible!
  3. eat loads of garlic and onion, then always have the heat as high as possible, honest approach: i think i'd say, driving alone gives me time to think... something i cant do with passengers. the way i see it your pretty much f*cked unless he goes off you for some reason. its an ugly situation to be in.
  4. i've got the bosch ones on my gs, they are ok however i prefer the valeo ones i put on my miss's car. better build quality in my opinion.
  5. R plate Nissan Primera 1.6 121bhp.... ended up with a evo front but was written off P plate Saab 900 coupe 2.0T 245bhp.... a pipe came loose on the m1 that connected the ecu, ofcourse i didnt know this and limped to a service station, by then broken 2 valves. great car, got it back on the road and i miss it! Y plate Nissan Primera 1.8 was kinda forced into selling the saab and getting a "family car" 51 plate Nissan Primera SR20DE 167bhp... loved this car to bits, handled like a go cart (b&g coilovers, JWT cams, hot shot head etc) S plate Lexus GS300 ..... current car im 22 and had 5 cars, been driving since 18 what a waste of money!
  6. direct line now offer criminal damage cover as standard without effecting ncb, as for the excess i dont know about that
  7. Hi Stuart, Welcome to the forum! i've got the mark 2 1999 sport gs with 18inch standard alloys. i was very surprised on how smooth the car is even though it had such large wheels. we've got a carina-e in the house which as far as i can remember shares the same platform as the avensis. if i had to choose comfort between the two, it would be the carina as it has alot more rubber to absorb roads. but for driving pleasure it would always be the gs. cant say about the new model though...
  8. im near ilford and know how violent the driving is there. at least your still alive. the way i see it, those people dont live happy lives... we do!
  9. thanks to Dave (Prolex) for helping me out to get these! they've turned golden which i wasnt expecting so soon, but i kinda like them. its louder than the standard system, but its forgiven when i put my foot down, it goes quiet and growls what Tom's say the left exhaust does sit slightly off centre, (this was more noticeable with the standard exhaust) but theres nothing that can be done as its all joined. fitted by Torque Exhaust in Ponders End. top lads i'd recommend them every time. all in all im happy!
  10. i'll try and get a picture when i get home from work. one criticism on the sat nav, i dont know if this is with all pioneers, but it is with mine... - the car doesnt pin point its location as good as the nav man i have. if you dont pay enough attention you could end up missing your turn as it seems to update slower.(im sure theres a setting i need to play with to fix it though) apart from that its all good! i can even play songs through the speakers with my bluetooth phone! (the gauges are cool too) another good thing bout it, it will work when theres no sat signal like through a tunnel. it works out your speed and adjusts the map.
  11. this sounds terrible! i remember my crash, it was a huge waiting game. the way i see it it was his fault. he was in wrong lane unless he was indicating. someone on this forum works inside an insurance company, im sure he can help here
  12. plus the mk1 gs300 has projectors!! im well jealous, my previous car had xenon projectors. perfect lighting!
  13. Hi, I've got a D3 in my gs and everything works fine... should be pretty much the same as the d2 however i did not install it, got a local shop to do it (part of pioneers free install promo)
  14. my pioneer avic-d3 always "restarts" when i turn the ignition on.... i'll look into this... thanks for the thread!
  15. nothing where i am at work (london bridge) though i hope it does ^_^
  16. this might be of some help, however you'll need to do this everytime you are using your sat nav before the journey. Lexus Owners Club Forum Clicky the link
  17. part of me thinks a bottle of brake fluid, but what goes around comes around... his avensis is battered anyway...
  18. well last night i just happened to be going down the stairs. i saw red lights through the misted glass and popped my head out of the living room window as i knew my gs was outside. it was my next door neighbour and he was parking behind me (he has a Toyota avensis) as he backed up i was thinking... stop.. stop... STOP!!!! i thought i heard a noise as if he tapped the car. my gs did not move an inch and no alarm went off (if one was ment to go off who knows?) he finished parking up and went to look at the back then went indoors. i tried to get out soon as i could, but by the time i did he was in his house. i couldnt see any damage and also this morning i checked and there was no damage... what would you do?
