  3. the pioneer does have a slightly bigger screen 0.05 inch! kenwood has higher pre outs (5v), is 5:1 built in, sat nav from a recognised sat nav manufacturer who privides updates and you can access it just like a standard nav for speed cameras and the like, Bluetooth from parrot inc a2dp streaming (NOT ON PIONEER), txt messages on screen, supports iphone 3g (only 2g on pioneer) and again updates form parrot pioneer has a 10g built in hd with optional usb adaptor and optional ipod adaptor kenwood has USB and ipod connectivity as standard, although a new lead if you want to use video.. kenwood supports divx video, pioneer doesnt kenwood has 2 av in + rear camera. pioneer has 1 av in and rear camera AND wait for it Pioneer is £1400 kenwood is £1000 so with the savings between the two you can buy the kenwwod digital tuner and an ipod classic with 120g of storage!! the pioneer lost this battle before it even started.... Thank Redz,U the man, just got the Kenwood today, and just under 1k.just need u to tell me what all i need, coz i want all the toys to go.If u can get them :winky: or if u got part number,so then i could get them.Cheers, beers on me :D

  10. Isn't 0-60 in 5.1s a bit quick for a 430? Official figures are 5.9 for the later (and last) 430 models, and 6.1 for the earlier MK II models. They hybrids are actually slightly faster, official figures are 5.7s 0-60. All models are limited to 155 as you say, though. Even the latest 4.6 models are only 5.6s 0-60. Still, can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I've wished it had more power... :) Hi,Just checked,is 5.9,but is a much better drive than the hybrid,I'm a big fan of the 430,and the power,,well, what or where can u use it,cars of todays are the dogs nuts,I think the 430 is about wright,No-ways will i ever go for a hybrid. Hi,can i just say, good choice m8,i've had a m3,great car,had a supra, great car,and now i have a mrk4 GS430,the best thing i've ever owned. Before i got the 430,i tested the GS450H,no match for the 430,and bought it.people that say or think the GS430 IS SLOW,,,,,,,,,think again,0 to 60 5,1sec and restricted to 155,and has all the toys and i say ALL THE TOYS.I was planning to change my GS430 this year, but have come up with a big problem,,,,,,,what to get next :shutit: .Ive been testing, and testing,,and have not found a car ,that matches or even come close to what i have.Advice from a HAPPY,VERY HAPPY GS 430 owner .Mrk 3 or 4 GREAT CAR,in my book B)

  14. Well i will change the water pump and the thermostate anyway, so should cure it after ££££££££'s s Hi, just reading your thread, and it just don't add up.Is it mixing,is it missing.....hot on top and a cold bottom ,to me is only one thing ,,,,water pump, even if the bearing have no play, the impeler which is pressed onto the end of the shaft, would be the problem.Don't go for the head until U have pressure tested it.First check the pump.Good luck m8Any recomendation as to where to buy a head gasket set ? but the dipstick and oil cap have now got some cream on them ! so just as well do it, will only get worse and it does do a few miles Hi,it has mixed,u have to remove the head ,get it checked and skimmed, but i also recomend u check your water pump.If u need any help just give me a call 07900226170, and i will take u step by step.U are going to need a full head set, also wise to do your cam belt, oil and oil filter.cheers TERRY

  18. Hi, check your reverse light bulb holder, and bulbs.U might be getting a live feed from the tail lights to your reverse lights, which in turn brings your reverse sign on.To test this just remove the rear tail light plugs one by one ,check which one it is :winky: Cheers Terry
  19. Hi,The speed sensor is indicating a problem with the gear change, maybe worn clutches,or low oil pressure. The first thing to do is check oil levels, then check the oil,eg;the colour and smell, and make sure it's not slipping into gears, and make sure the gear box is hot.then post your findings .i'll check and help u out.cheers TERRY Well let me first clarify that in my particular case the light did flash a few times but is not on all the time like Lee's was. The car was originally not engaging in reverse as quick as it should. It would occosionally, not always, take a couple of seconds to engage. So we changed the transmission fluid and the filter making sure we got the correct fluid which is T2, now replaced by T4. We added a little Trans X additive which is supposed to help with slippage and is supposed to be compatible with all fluids. After that fluid change the OD light did come on (flashed) a couple of times and hasn't done it any more. The reverse problem is gone and the trany shifts prefectly without any noticeable slippage (but not into OD). The transmission light (yellow oil can) is now turning on (after the OD problem started) and satys on for a few seconds then turns off. Doesn't do it all the time though. The fluid level is fine and there are no other problems such as the speedometer or cruise control. Those work fine. Using the "power" button doesn't make any difference. Nor does turning on and off the OD either. The OD off light turns on and off as we do this the way it should. Thanks, Juan (prhandyman) sorry, but is this the same car Sorry about that,my computer keeps cutting out,,,back to the problem.First make sure the transmission is not slipping into gears. If it is OK then, yours just needs the bands adjustered. In the the box u should have 3 bands,1for reverse and 2 for drive,They are like a tappet setting.Remove the sump and u should see a round cup like disc, and the other 2 should be on the side of the g/box.remove the covers and u will see the adjusters.MAKE SURE THE OIL IS COLD/These adjuster have a very lite torque setting and a lock nut,so u would need the correct torque wench. If u are going to under take this job yourself, let me know when,so that i can get all the info for u .Cheers TERRY Terry thanks for the offer and advise, but it seems to me that the bands are OK because the trany is not slipping at all and it shifts fine into all gears except that it does not go to overdrive. We did not take it up to 6000 RPMs like Lee did. By the way this is my son's car. Doing this would probably take the car to over 100 MH. He certainly does't need a speeding ticket. Regards, Juan Hi,bands don't make the trany slip. The clutch make it slip. The band make sure that each clutch drum gets the right oil pressure, for it to change to the next gear, but one should always make sure the clutches are OK before adjusting the bands. With out the right pressure u will always have problems
