I know besty.... i know.... Lexus MUST BE perfect cars! LEX are the best all over the wolrld and only the idea to have a problem makes me mad!!! :shutit: So unfortunately even your IS200 had this problem... But at le lexus Europe what they say? In all the posts i've read that the cause of the problem is unknown.... :duh: They try to change the diff. and gearbox oil or change the clutch... but the problem sometimes is not solved! Only a totally new gearbox makes your lex regular but... NOT ALL TIMES!!!

I ask u this things guys because i'd like a "check list" to control the effective good condition and the defect absence fron my future is 200 as You can immagine i WANT A MORE PERFECT AS POSSIBLE USED IS200!!! :winky: I' love this car and it must be PERFECT B)

Hi guys.... i'm looking for an used IS200 and i've known that the most diffused problems are: - the calipers and alloys oxidation (but it's only a cosmetic problem) - the problem with the radio (err 3) - the sticky gearbox - the paint is delicate others??? Xcuse me another time guys but i don't have understand so much the problem at the gearbox... I've read all the discussion about but i don't understand.... I've understand that in the passage from the first to second speed (when the engine is cold) the gear may be sticky..... What does it means? A noise or it's like an "obstacle" that makes the speed chage difficult??? WHAT???? ANY OTHERS PROBLEMS WITH YOURS IS 200???

12 V guys 12V..... :D or have you got a 1963 VW kafer with 6V electrical circuit??? All the cars today has 12V battery (if you test it will be more if the battery is charged and good) only trucks has 24 V electrical circuit!

Hallo Guys.... How many kilometers does a sporty tire last??? I mean with DUNLOP SP9000, MICHELIN PILOT SPORT, TOYO PROXES-T1S, BRIDGESTONE RE720 - S03PP, MORE AND MORE 25.000 -30.000 KM? (for an IS200 215/45R17)

guys, i know IS200 drinks a lot of petrol... here in Italy the says an average consuption of 10.2 kilometers /litre.... But.... as i can see here.... BESTY do 9.14 km/l BRETTSTER do 6.40 km/l (like a corvette :shutit: ) ULTRAVIOLET do 9.6 km/l..... guys.... anyone with 10 or more km/l????

In my experience Michelin are the best brand if you would not change tires every 15k km. so guys.... Do you think the best tires for an Is200 are toyo proxes??? I mean for lex fitment i'd like a tire with good grip and handling but it also has to be not very noisy.... What do u think?

more than Toyo ones? I've found toyo shuolder very bad (in 185/55 r15) but the compound was good and the tire was (apart from the shoulder sporty and quite good)

Yes, i know that the diesel engine is the Yaris one.... had they changed the gearbox? The rover one was BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!

The engine is a chrysler unit and the gearbox is a bad Rover. My friend with a cooper one day wasn't able to put the first speed.... after a stop. Then he try to put the second speed.... *****! even the II speed was broken.... He had only the fourth speed.... :shutit: The mini had 500 km more or less.... This was only one problem.... :yack: MINI makes you mad!!!!

Maverick io è da un anno che cerco la IS200 usata perfetta e la devo ancora trovare! Non ce l'ho purtroppo ancora... tu dove l'hai trovata? Da ZARA a TV, da Moretto o Portogruaro o in qualche altra concessionaria? Lo scorso mese ne avevo trovata una ada Moretto, bellissima, nera, perfetta ma poi... apro la porta.. intgerni in velluto :yack: e 95000 km (era del 2000) ci ho pensato, poi ritorno ed era venduta.... Cma grigia met chiara è stupenda!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what potenzas are the seriess tire in yous country (here in Italy lex standards has michelin Pilot sport).... by the way have a mix of tires may be sometimes not so terrible... Last year i drove with different brand of tires in my clio 16v and the anly problem was the warming time..... In rounds (when you push very hard) the car was firstly strange.... the front and the rear tires were different (front = pirelli Pzero) (rear= toyo Proxes T1-S)... and since when you have past 2-3 minutes to the limit the car was very strange.... A lot of Understeering and Oversteering it depends.... when alla the 4 tires were warmed the car was not so bad!!!! :winky: My toyo proxes S (185/55 R15) were good but the shoulder was terrible like chewing gum, makes my clio not very well on the corners. In the case of Lex (215/45 R17) the problem will not be.... :winky:

Ciao fratellone, non paragonarmi la silvia alla IS200 perchè è una bestemmia! Se vuoi una macchina confortevole, di classe, stupenda con un motore molto elastico e trattabile con un pizzico di "cattiveria" in alto allora compra la LEXUS Se vuoi sbadierare continuamente oppure cimentarti in accelerazioni brucianti ai semafori prendi la Silvia. Metto ancora una volta "cattiveria" tra virgolette perchè il gende pregio del 2.0 6 cilindri 24v della lex è l'elesticità e la morbidezza. Se sali di giri diventa + sportiveggiante ma considera sempre che l'erogazione è vellutata.... Insomma, provala e poi mi sai dire....

I'm 22 and i think IS is a good looking car even for a young boy :D The IS design is sporty and also very elegant.... i love it! B)

e adesso ci becchiamo qui.... pensa che lì su elaborare eravamo in 3 che sapevano cosa era una IS200 Meglio così.... non sanno cosa si perdono loro e le loro baracchette turbate :D

Guys..... remember that BMW is only a commercial strategy to sell the new minis (and to pay more) !!!!! :shutit: The only thing truely BMW in a mini are the electrical parts! the engine, the gearbox and others are a mix of Rover, Chrysler ecc. ecc....

No resolver! It's a mistake!!!! :yack: I have 2 friends with the mini cooper, one with mini cooper S and i can say i'll never buy that car! It has a lot of mechanical problems! The only thing truely BMW are the electric parts. The engine si Chrysler, che gear box Rover.... :shutit: 2 of my friends are selling the mini because they are being mad.... too much problems!!!

I don't think so... i've an old 1986 golf GTI and every time i found the police they control all my car.... :shutit: I Can't do nothing because they are very strict and if your car is not TOTALLY ok you have to pay and go for a control... ;) In the south of Italy there is completely the opposit.... even the traffic lights are not respected.... :D and you can ride a WRC wothout circulation card.... :D
