  1. There is only one way of checking. With the engine running and oil warm/hot, check the level indicated on the dipstick.
  2. Visited Tony's place a couple of years ago and had my IS200 WIM'd. Never had a problem with tyre wear since. Thanks again Tony. 19 front tyres in 3 years!!!!! You have a very serious problem that geometry setting alone will not cure.
  3. Worn lower swivel ball joints. Had the same thing a while back and boy did it creak!
  4. 'they said this is normal as many cars now have been set up to provide better cornering which results in inner tyre wear'. As one of the above posters has already said..... You would be wise to speak to Tony Bones at WIM, the above statement I am sure will make him chuckle. I also had mine tracked at WIM a couple of years ago and it made one hell of a differenc to the handling and it eliminated the inner tyre wear.
  5. Actually, i only pick the car up on Tuesday from Manston in Kent so WIM ain't far. I shall phone ahead for an appointment and get the job done as soon as i pick it as WIM do seem to have quite a following. i know the car has good tread on the tyres however i am usually fussy about tyres, should i wait till i get new tyres next year or can i get the WIM service and get new tyres later? I see Parthiban mentioned is 200, i presume the same issue affects a 2005 IS300 Sportcross. Any advice welcome, this is my first ever rear wheel drive car and i want to minimise any surprises i may get in the winter months! Thanks everyone. Ed Get yourself booked in at WIM as soon as possible mate.
  6. Must admit I had never heard of a Bride seat Looks a bit like a kiddies safety seat
  7. Oh yes. My son worked there, texted him the code number and he came home that evening with it. I notice that you live in Southampton too. Take your paint code to the Halfords in Hedge End.
  8. I would post your question on the LS Forum rather than this one. Good Luck
  9. My local Halfords mixed up a spray can of Lexus Blue when I had to do a minor repair on mine. Was a good match too.
  10. Nice to see you back on Tony. My Lex is still going great guns after your magic fix....... Thanks again. You may remember me............ I nearly set your new workshop on fire when my LED lights decided to ....AH.... go into fault mode!!! Take Care Mossy
  11. Have just stripped my front & rear brakes to check, lub and re-paint calipers etc. Both the front and rear discs have no fixing and are held in place by the pads and the wheel. Unfortunately I cant help with the clunking noise. I am not experiencing any clunk with my brakes so can only assume that maybe the clips are the wrong type and are not holding the pads sufficiently. Are they a Lexus part or a copy? I vaguely remember reading a post some time ago (and it was a while ago) about another member having the same problem. Maybe another member could point you in the right direction for an answer. Good Luck Mossy
  12. I am sure I will be corrected if i'm wrong but; I believe a Toyota Altezza is the Japenese version of the IS200 so the vast majority of the parts should be interchangable
  13. It could very well be a dodgy oil pressure swtich or bad cable connection. On the other hand it could be a worn oil pump not achieving the specified pressure at low revs. Either way I would get it checked ASAP Good luck
  14. Not sure about the 'Blue eye thing' i'm afraid. I have seen a similar thing that shows green when good and red when its k******d. To see if its charging literally takes seconds so that wont cost much, if anything. The battery is another story, depending on what type you get. Good luck
  15. Sounds as if your battery has had it mate, but: Better to get your charging circuit checked (dead easy to do with a multimeter). If that comes back ok then get a new battery.
  16. OOps.... Should of said they have NOT been looked at
  17. I can only assume that they have been NOT looked at by somebody because: You say that you don't know if they need doing !! If somebody has told you they will do all that work for £120, then its a good price, BUT only if they need doing. If they don't need doing and your paying to have it done, then you are wasting £120 !!
  18. Dancing around the car doesn't make you a bad man though!!!!!!
  19. Phil Any chance of posting what parts you used and how you did it. It looks really good, wouldn't mind giving it a bash on mine.
  20. Good day people Whenever I post or reply to a topic, I have recently noticed that 'Warn Status' appears under the area where the details of my name, date joined etc is situated. I can promise you that I am no threat to anyone !!!! Could anybody give me an explanation as to why it appears there? Many thanks in anticipation Nick
  21. Might be beneficial if you posted some pictures of the plates too !
