  1. Oh no. Certainly not for me but, each to their own I suppose
  2. I would say judging by Ormis response. Yes, you can use your mates car, as long as it has a trailer attached with your car on the trailer. Simples
  3. Thanks for the prompt reply Janet Will certainly look into that stuff.
  4. Good day all As the weather is playing a blinder at the mo and......I'm having a funny turn. I was thinking about re-painting/spraying my wheels myself. They were done prior to me buying the car about 4 1/2 years ago, but I think it was only a quickie job as they are flaking again quite badly. I know the IS had a problem with the material used on the wheels which caused them to corrode, so, on that basis, has anybody got any suggestions as to what primer/paint would be best to use. Thanks in advance Mossy
  5. ROCKATANSKY ...... I think some of you are misunderstanding what i'm saying. It's not 'my' mechanic or 'my' friend. It's a car i was going to view. The owner said his friend was a mechanic and said they are chains when I enquired about the belt change. If thats the case then dont buy the car. This so called mechanic knows jack s**t about the IS and if he has been doing repairs on it then I would guess that if you bought it you will encounter problems very soon!!!!!!!!
  6. Had the same noises eminating from the front end on mine. Get the lower swivels checked to be on the safe side. Mine were shot to pieces and had about an inch lift on them. My mate wouldn't let me out of his garage until they were done.........They were that bad.
  7. It was 80 quid when I transferred my Plate about 4 years ago. My son had his transferred about a year ago and it was still the same price.
  8. Sorry Should have typed .... see if there is any up and down movement
  9. I would check your lower swivel ball joints. I had a similar noise etc and found the drivers side one to be worn excessively, close to falling apart. Get the front end blocked up and see if the is any up and down movement in the joint.
  10. Tony has a lot of support coz they are damn good at WIM. I nearly made them good fire fighters too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I would hazard a guess that some of that heavy rain has found its way onto your fuse board in the drivers foot well. I had virtually the same issue after I had put mine through a car wash, also the headlights came on whenever they wanted to. I sprayed the whole board with a contact cleaner followed by compressed air and its been ok ever since.
  12. PURE QUALITY WHAT A LOOKER WELCOME TO LOC Sorry guys.... had to shout that
  13. I had an awful creaking noise from the front end of mine. Took it to my mates garage and he found that the o/s lower swivel absolutely shot to pieces ------- to the extent of dangerous. He advised me not to drive it untill it was replaced. I took his advise
  14. Get the fault code read and it will tell you exactly what the problem is mate
  15. Lexus Hedge End recommend 10W 40 Magnetec

  18. Dont want it for an IS mate Just vaguely remember seeing something about Replacement lamps on here
  19. Good evening all Hope somebody can help me with a small problem. My son purchased some HID lights on eBay and whilst trying to fit them he managed to damage one of the lamps. I'm sure somewhere I have seen something about replacement lamps rather than buying a whole new set. Could any one point me in the right direction. The type he purchased was H7 6000K Many thanks in anticipation Nick
