Dropped the IS in to the paint shop yesterday to get all the scratches, chips and marks sorted out. When they asked if i wanted a loaner i pointed out a nice Audi TT quatro thats was parked in one of the bays out side "thats the owners"!!!!!! So iv ended up with a VW passat diesel estate in stead!

Do a search on here to find a fix for error1 code on oem cd playrs. The laser just needs a clean mate thats all.

That water pump looks new! Has your car had the cam belt changed by the last owner, check you service records to find out if it has, as the water pump should have being changed at the same time, if not might be water pump as Steive stated. Sounds like a bearing to me tho!

Photos looks ok mate, cant see why there not working? Only thing i would have done would have being to take out the blubs from the protective tubes!

Bench test ...and how would I do that? How can I test them? Take then off the car and test them with a spare car battery or a power supply that gives out 12v @ 10amps or more.

Bench test them mate, take them out and test them on a spare car battery before you make the call to the vender stateing their bust. I always bench test everything i buy before i start to fit so i know that it worked before i started to fit, then if they dont work i know its my fitting or what i'v fitted it too. Bench test is what i suggest.....!

When for a walk with my g/friend her daughter and my mother along the canal at Glasson Dock (in between Blackpool and Lancaster), stopped at the pub for a swift half, watched some fat shirtless scouser negotiate the lock whilest trying not to spill his pint! Then took them out for a nice meal.

Had the same prob with mine, just removed cig lighter and found that the wire brtween the two points had broke just resoldered a new wire to the connectors and bingo...!

Remove hard drive and format it from another pc....?

Do you always run optimax? If so your car will get use to the higher grade of ron in the fuel, and when you put on cheap fuel it wont perform the same as on optimax, or i could be talking bollox like normal!
