THought all GS 300 had a five speed box like mine.... is his the old one then? mine is early new shape. I think they are more aerodynamic and also work less at any given road speed. as they are much more torque laden. Wish I had the 700nm of torque that the new Merc SL55AMG has. wouldn't say no to the 465bhp either. 202mph without the restrictor! not bad for a road car with four seats.... and a convertible roof... and sat nav.... and.... er, pass the check book please!!!! Just filled up the GS300 and it's done 298 on 12.88889 gallons. which is 23.2 to the gallon ( approx) I have been hooning it abit though. traffic light grand prix and the like. I cant get over how smooth the gear change is! BEST AUTO BOX I HAVE EVER DRIVEN Yeah, nearly forgot about that. this box can shift so smooth no begger in the car even knows we have done 4 shifts to get to 60 nice and relaxed.... Thanks Lexus. Cant get over how thirsty those little ones are!! why don't you get a biggun that has better economy?? makes sense no? What extra u pay for in purchase, you save in Gas bills and you get to drive a more luxurious Lexus. never a bad thing... of course it does have questionable styling compared to the 200...:?:

Mine is standard but sees about: 70% motorway use in "average driver" mode. 5% in "I'll miss this deal unless I rush" mode 5% "lets play on the back roads" mode :flaming: 10% "boring city glad-its-auto" mode 10% parked up while I work in the back with the air con running. I never use the "power ect" button. I reckon 26 mpg is okay but I'll settle down on the motorway to see if I can get it to 30.... Let you know. Loz

Dear all, Would the 28th be more inviting if it was a one day trip. there and back in say, 12-16 hours? just thinking if we are going to do a christmas run then maybe this could be a shortened blast across the coast. brings the cost down by at LEAST half too for the crossing and obviously no hotel... I'm with JM on this. Mine see's a thousand miles on average a week so the gravel rash of stonechips and the like mean that a carwash is the least of my worries. Besides, who would by a Lexus and then turn up to places/clients/dates in it dirty. No, a good IMO/ARC 7 brush drag-u-through car wash is fine for such high quality paint. And when the stonechips get spotted on the occasional hand wash (so I too can chat to gillian over the road) I'll figure out how to get them sorted without having a two tone car! any adivce on that one?

Damn, Man! £150 for a replacement key?? *so glad my baby came with two masters and a valet (grey) key... only thing I didnt get was the little plate with the number on. guess I shouldn't need it in a hurry... maybe this guys key don't work cos the transponder is not near enought to the dash mounted receiver? has he tried starting it with the remote assembly in situe. Worth a try cos if it starts then he knows he just needs order another key... or get some real strong glue?

Got the Sounds sorted in my GS300. had the Radio decoded. now have the luxury of radio 4 to keep me abreast of the news. Good system but I had high hopes of the shelf mounted sub woofer that as yet is conspicuous by its absence of back thumping bass. Any clues, blackadder? Lord Percy:?:

Yes, its strange for a bulky big exec car they do get some glances. I am a single 29yr old so by rights I should be sporting an S2000 Honda or something to catch the ladies eye. Not me. But I find that the Lexus (in the 11 days and 2200 miles I've had it) gets glances from kids, dads, mums alike! I suppose it must be a NAME thing. here lexus and you think, "Ker-ching!". Even Covent Gardeners gave her a look of appreciation at the weekend. I think she's fine but it's nice to know I'm not alone ;)
