  1. can't complain then and you know your car is 100% set up correctly.
  2. Mine has probably the highest miles (IS200) on it for the age in the club?, the engine was also 100% perfect when it was ripped out and shoved carefully into another Lex to give that one a new lease of life so it can continue going to Poland regularly. But the story would also have to highlight the 12+ sets of tyres in 3 years and 92500 miles due to the Geo problems that don't really exist, nudge nudge wink wink. Maybe not then.........
  3. They are great guys!! Out of interest was the Golf's geo out?
  4. Had a read of your link Stav, if the Fuel gauge detects a problem with the fuel injection it uses the sender in the tank for level information. Or am I reading it wrong? Page 151, part "c", paragraph "i"
  5. So every 1/4 tank the gauge "should" read about right? OK thats not much of an issue. Has Mat got the same problem? or did TDI work a way around the issue?? There are plenty of after market gauges so if necessary one of these can be put in at a later day.
  6. As ever I have to let TGT answer then, I assumed the fuel gauge operated like any other one.
  7. I laughed my heart out loud when the biker that killed my sister got life imprisonment for doing 95MPH in a 30 zone, he didn't see her, he was to busy showing off to his passenger who also died. I understand the biker community, but I would never have one or be impressed when they pass us "car" drivers at warp speed because it is always the cars fault...... isn't it???? Nice poem though.
  8. They could organise a "mini meet" for the mag, then everyone can show their Lexus off?
  9. I am sure they will, as I say I'm not a technical genius so I leave the build to experienced experts. Thinking about it I think it is the 3S housing not the Altezzas. Not using the Alezzas bell housing could be a budget thing? Again TGT can if they want to, confirm this. So long as it all works thats the main thing.
  10. I think they are using bits from the Altezza bell housing, certainly for the starter mounting, and the starter is indeed under the tunnel, thus interior out to ensure nothing is cut that doesn't want to be... does mean changing it is a bit of a mission, how often does a starter need to be changed though?
  11. Its been moved, because of the turbo's heat radiation and oil lines, they all want to be in the same sort of place. All will be very clear if you see the build, I am not that good at explaining things technical!! Fuel gauge is no issue as that does not run of any affected systems? however if the eco meter works I will be surprised??????
  12. latest: Lots of fabrication work that was not envisioned in the original plan as far as I know, now things like the prop are in place everything else can be lined up properly, 1mm out at one end of the prop could be 1cm+ at the other end, so nothing could be 100% placed until that was in place. The other bits that needed making are made as far as I am aware (crash bar etc.). The APEXI ECU and Lexus ECU are going back in this week and the dash board and heater matrix (isn't it big!!) are going back in - this is a long job you won't believe haw many bolts and things go in to making up the dash!! James says it is like one of those jigsaws that can only be built in a certain order without a picture. The water pipes (which all meed to be custom built) for instance can't go in until the down pipe is in, and that can't go in until the engine is in place which can't be done until the prop is in place. The starter needed special attention the position of this was critical to the build and that caused the fabrication that needed the whole dash and interior to be removed, which also could not be finished until the engine was 100% in place). Just a huge list of problems and issues but all with answers. I am reliably informed these issues are now sorted out and it is just the building of the electrical systems etc. If the final re-build is smooth and the electrics don't through any more surprises there is a slim chance the engine tuners will get their hands on it late next week if they have diary room. I think one issue may well be the rev counter, going from 6 Cyl to 4 Cyl and the IS200 6Cyl takes its rev counting info from a different place to the 3SGTE that uses a "Dizzy", probably not a real problem but again something that needs to work esp. with a turbo car. Once they have done what they do I have asked James to keep the car far a few days and run it as his just to ensure everything is as it should, no one wants their car back only to have problems from the out set. No more pictures as yet, I think we will wait for a finished project!! It has taken a bit longer than we first thought, thats the way of these things and no one really expected the original time guess to be accurate..... did they....... No I didn't think so :D
  13. That is 100% awesome, and doing it yourself is even better, I just don't have the knowledge or time to attempt such a conversion. Looks like the same intercooler mine is having. Like mine is having, I assume you are going to have a custom crash bar?
  14. Shame, but if you cheat in F1 you WILL be found out. No sympathy at all for him cheating is a cancer the sport can do without.
  15. Thats a nice MK1. Prefer the MK2 though. The MK3 (Roadster) was a real disappointment it was sold within 6 months of having it.
  16. My 2005 Lexus IS200 is about to become the worlds 1st (and only obviously) true 3S-GTE powered IS200. I have no idea if this sort of thing is of interest but we have full build pictures for the project and specs available. There are many highly modified Lexus on this site covering all the other models, if you can't find something interesting here you ain't looking!!
  17. The BEST MR2 shape by far.
  18. I used to drive a tanker for Shell then for Tesco, its all mixed up in a bucket and shared around so to speak, the lorries fill up at the same pumps and use the same fuel. The problem Tesco had a couple of years ago with some cars fuelling at their stations was only a coin flip if Shell got the problem or them. Things may well have changed but that is how it was when I was driving Petrol tankers - very good money if anyone fancies a career change!!
  19. :shifty: may be going to the tuners next week if the rest of the electrics are OK and the tuner has a gap big enough:shifty: :shifty: James is always getting offered MR2 T's for sale, well worth calling or dropping him a PM. I am sure he can look one over for you if you find one you like?? I would love one as a "toy" again. As for insurance all imported cars are a few extra pounds to insure, shop around and you will get a good deal.
  20. Thats why it is being repaired.
  21. They are all imports, all have the twin entry turbo, so some misleading titles like "twin turbo MR2" can be heard on chat rooms etc They are just as reliable as the N/A one, it is a Toyota after all!! I had one for a short time until a thief wrapped it round a tree, Insurance is a bit steep but so is the performance :P Great cars and £5K will buy a stunner.
  22. wheres the car at ? Check his signature. Like mine is having a power upgrade.
