  1. I don't have any pics but would only repeat what I've said in #7 above. The Insurer appointed a repairer who said the only way to make it as good as new was to take the wheel away and redo the the whole thing. This is because the wheel does not have a paint code and only by doing the whole wheel will I get a 100% match. I took the advice and that's what I got, a 100% perfect wheel which to my eye matched the other wheel on the same side. When I then kerbed it again I waited until I'd kerbed another one and got them both done together. Yes, I was without a car for a couple or days or so but wanted a perfect result so was prepared to put up with it. TBH you are in the hands of the operative wherever you have sourced the cover from, but I'd rather buy via the Lexus route. Lucky the NX doesn't have low profiles! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I can see why aircon hurts mpg but why is cruise control bad news? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'd be surprised if you achieved less than 35 mpg. Maybe when you have the test drive drive as you normally would having reset the onboard computer. As far as long distance driving, certainly no problem there it's an extremely pleasant place to be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I think it was £350 but that was tyre and wheels and no excess as far as I recall Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I also think your driving style will change, mine was similar to yours and now it's not. That said, if you keep it in Sport it is more than quick enough. No way, even driven as you suggest and permanently in Sport, will the mpg be anywhere near as bad as 20 IMO. Obviously a test drive is the answer and let us know how you get on! 6. That's crazy! I bought combined wheel and tyre for my NX in September. It's administered by Premia Solutions and is excellent. I can't believe Lexus are no longer providing cover, it's a good earner for them, if nothing else. I also had the cover for bodywork on my IS which was Sonic T, it's a difficult colour to blend in but can be done. The Supaguard is a waste of money IMO, if you're looking at protecting the bodywork a ceramic sealant is best, but does cost a bit more. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. TBH traffic on the motorway is quite helpful in terms of mpg, providing she's not flooring it and then braking sharply of course. The battery is more helpful at the lower speeds and with the "pulse and glide" technique electric only can used a fair bit. I also think the ECO mode is a waste of time, the trade off in responsiveness of the accelerator is not reflected in mpg improvements, I'd keep it in Normal myself. MPG at 80 is not going to be pretty either...
  8. I caught the bottom of my golf bag on mine a couple of times which was very annoying. Not enough to want to have one of those on it though! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. That's good to know. I noticed that the volume needed to go up with the bluetooth'd music (for whatever reason) - but was worried that when I switched it back to radio (for the wife), it would be at ear deafening volumes. My useage has been limited so far, so I'll no doubt get infuriated with the lack of intuitiveness as time goes by, but so far it's no worse than any others I've ever used. I feel like just going to sit in it for half an hour instead of actually doing some work. Re the Bluetooth volume adjustment, how much you have to turn it up in the car depends on how high or low it is on the device. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Echoing Rayaan's comments, very easily damaged as they are so soft. They look the business especially when clean but the slightest graze and you are done for The other point to remember is that there is no paint code so to get a perfect repair you really need the whole wheel to be done. I bought the alloy and tyre insurance and that was a seriously good move. From memory it gave me 10 repairs over a 3 year period. I only had the car 2 years and used it half a dozen times I think. A lot of my driving is around town with on street parking and even with real care I caught mine.
  11. That looks very nice indeed glad you are pleased. I think most of the bugs in the infotainment system and been ironed out, it's just not the most intuitive system. One thing I like though is how the volume remains at the previously set level. E.G. if you are listening to bluetooth music and crank it up a bit, when you switch to the radio it reverts to whatever the volume was the last time you were listening to the radio. Happy motoring!
  12. I think it looks its finest in the sun but tbh in all sorts of different lighting condition it seems to change.Look forward to seeing some pics when you get yours!
  13. Good write up I couldn't really care less about mpg but the obsession about keeping that Eco light on drives me mad . I also really liked the way the car could either be a serene waft around the place in silence or near to on the one hand, and then, whack it into sport and drive like a getaway car . I also agree the F Sport looks the business.
  14. A bit of eye candy to help pass the time.. Sonic T is a cracking colour IMO
  15. Most on here who have AVS (myself included) don't think it makes much if any tangible difference to the ride. That is of course very subjective. If you could find one with and one without to test that would be ideal, but there aren't that many about.
  16. Hi and cheers for the welcome mate. Yeah the f sport is what I'd ideally have my eye on depending on if I can find one with in my budget circa 25k px included. When trawling through auto trader etc I've noticed there's some f sports that state premium nav? What is so premium over standard? Also some models appear to have a wheel selector apposed to the mouse looking thing. Was this changed for a reason? Sorry for all the questions. Lol What model do you have mate and how long you had it? Good for a family car? Thanks again Premium nav gives some internet related connectivity, eg send a destination from your PC/tablet to the car, Google street view etc. It also gives you the reversing camera which I don't think the standard nav gets. I can't remember what the set up was re the mouse v wheel. I had the F Sport with Prem nav and that had a wheel not a mouse. I had it for 2 years and only changed it as I fancied a change, nothing wrong with the car it's a cracker IMO. Perfectly good as a family car depending on what your needs are. 17. Welcome to the forum and yes it works well with tapatalk. If you're having the car for 24 hours I'm sure they'll give you a full run down on the car. As you've already noticed Lexus dealers do try and provide a service that really all dealers should and sadly few do. The car is great, the F Sport the most striking IMO and I don't think you'll be disappointed. Remember to try it in Sport mode as well as Normal. As for your age, most of us are about your age as well [emoji23][emoji23], give or take a decade or so. Let us know how you get on and enjoy it! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. You mention that the mpg doesn't bother you greatly so I guess it's more about the driving experience itself. If you are heavy with the right foot some consider the engine noise to be a little intrusive, and from the usual Lexus perspective of quietly wafting around that may be true. If you are driving in a stream of traffic at normal speeds then I don't think it would be a problem at all, even up hill and down dale. I find the ride to be extremely comfortable and on the odd occasion I push on it's not a problem at all, a quick check of the speedo will normally result in a surprise at how fast I'm going. The F Sport has a firmer ride than the others so try to make sure you are driving the derivative you are interested in, and I think the tyre size might vary too. Look forward to hearing how you got on!
  19. I agree the Sport mode makes a marked difference, whereas AVS not so. I've driven on the same road in Sport and then Sport+ and couldn't tell any difference. Maybe the test road wasn't bad enough for the Sport+ to make a difference, but if I'd optioned the AVS at £750 I'd be disappointed. YMMV of course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Glad it's sorted. If it wasn't faulty did you have stump up or the dealer for selling it like that to you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Had a quick check of the manual, the only customisation is the height the door opens to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I believe it is supposed to be adapting to the road conditions all the time but in my NX or the GS that I drove I couldn't tell any difference. The only answer is to try them for yourself, but as I think you've already said, AVS is not found often. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. I'm pretty sure the answer is no. For safety feature will be the reason. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. As I've said before I can't tell any difference between Sport or Sport+ mode. I'd be disappointed if I'd paid extra for it, not worth £750 IMO. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
