  1. I have spoken to my Lexus dealer on many occasions and they are adamant Toyota are not going to play the EV game but are investing their energies 100% into hydrogen. I'd be over the moon if Lexus brought out an EV but the reality is that, at least for the foreseeable future they aren't. Tesla build quality isn't as good as Lexus and the dealer network of Lexus is renowned for its excellence. Tesla have a few centres dotted around and that's it I suspect that in a few years the other major players will have got their act together and Tesla will have some competition,. Whether that will include the over the air updates that Tesla regularly do remains to be seen, that in itself is unheard of. Lexus want an arm and a leg just to give a nav map update! Nothing is perfect that's for sure, and acknowledged on the Tesla equivalent forum to this. However, none of the contributors regret switching from luxury ICE cars and see Tesla as the only option at the moment - and a very good one at that. All very off topic as I knew it would be as soon as the T word was mentioned. YMMV Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Great question for@ganzoom [emoji23][emoji23][emoji6][emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. My recent car history is 2nd gen IS250, IS300h and for the last 12 months an NX300h. The latter two both F Sport. I don't ever see me returning to petrol only and only wish Lexus would go full EV. There's no chance of that in the foreseeable future so I'm afraid I will probably be waving goodbye to the brand, in favour of a Tesla Model S. Hopefully this will be in the next 6/9 months. 4. Super gesture [emoji106] what tipped the balance in favour of the Jag? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Wow, that's a lot of miles (to me anyway 11k after 1 yr). How's the paint holding up, especially on the front? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yes that is the case, although I think if you make a fuss Lexus GB will eventually send you one. It's all about saving the planet. Or money. Hhmmmm. [emoji57] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I agree it's very handy but if I'm being a real nit picker when you move off it's not quite as smooth as just releasing the brake pedal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Me neither, it's too stressful to be worth the effort on our UK motorways 99% of the time. Adaptive cruise control (ACC) on the over hand, is brilliant. Set the desired speed and the car will slow down automatically and maintain a gap predetermined by the setting you choose. If the car in front moves out of the way, or you move into an overtaking position the car will speed back up to the speed originally set. I have it on my NX and wouldn't be without it. My wife, who was sceptical in the extreme and not a great motorway passenger now loves it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. And the road is as flat as a pancake Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Good luck with that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Welcome to the club! To answer your question, no, it disables every time the engine is switched off. Please don't ask why, that I cannot answer!
  12. I can never remember the technical answer, I think it's to do with the beam being flat, but no headlamp adjustment required when driving on the wrong side of the road [emoji6] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. I don't believe the US has the hybrid at all, in the same way we don't get the juicier engine. The UK spec is bound to be different as Lexus are legendary in having different spec's for different territories with, to me anyway, no logic. I wonder if the infotainment system will be any better? I wouldn't bet on it personally.
  14. No reports of alloy problems that I know of, so I wouldn't worry about that. I had the IS300h F Sport before getting my NX and don't regret the change at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Nothing wrong with the Qashqai but the NX is a step up in quality IMO. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. The NX weighs more than the IS and as an SUV is less aero dynamic so it shouldn't be a surprise that the mpg is worse than the IS. In my IS mpg varied between 38-42 depending on the season. In the NX it's been 32-36. Both F Sport variants and driving style not changed much, possibly a little slower in the NX.
  17. I know I'm biased coz I had one that colour but does look really good. Just need to trim that hedge now
  18. I obviously don't push hard enough as my NX has AVS. If you push on in the NX then don't expect 37mpg, I'm at 36 lifetime with 10.5k on the clock. I agree about the nav price and the memory seats,it's an irritation how the specs vary across the models. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. Congratulations and welcome to the club Peter! What spec and colour combo have you gone for? Pics will of course be required!
  21. I can't offer any help I'm afraid but wondered what you are moving from the Lexus into? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. They do work in other modes but I tend to agree with you, a bit gimmicky really. Like the ASC, but good for a laugh when you want to pretend you are a boy racer for 2 mins [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. 10k on clock and lifetime average 35.9 mpg. Most journeys are less than 5 miles and I do about half a dozen of them a day. I'm more than happy with the mpg and indeed every aspect of the car. Passengers in the rear particularly like the reclining seats and the pano roof. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. The guys that did mine on more occasions than I'd like to admit took the wheel away, took it right back and when they put it back on it was perfect. Did take more than 24 hours though, but if you want a 100% result the wheel has to go to the hospital IMO. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. No body ever reports a good journey do they? For me I'd go A30/A303/M3/M25/M11/A11. There's a roadwork average speed section on the M3 that really suits the mpg, and the M25 where you join it will be busy past the Heathrow section. Still think it's better than heading so far north and then navigating around Oxford, I can't see a direct route from Oxford to Norwich. YMMV of course. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
