1. can anyone help, i have seen a topic on here in the past and i have tried looking for it again but cant find it, it was photos of a stainless steel exhurst fitted to his car, hope someone can point me to it as i am thinking of getting one fitted to mine and just want to have another look at these photos. cheers don
2. Happened to me once in a Granada, the alternator belt was slipping and the battery voltage was too low. Also check if battery is faulty yes i agree, check belt first then battery then alternator in that order, but also check crank pully thats if it the same as mk 2 mine had parted and had new battery aternator reconned new pully tentioner and after all that it was the crank pully. start you engine up let it run for a short while then turn lights on radio on air con on and turn your wheels to full lock if you get some one to look at your belt while you put t on full lock, the belt may even stop and lights will come on then then i would say it crank pully parted thats if it the same as mk2, hope you sort it
3. If I'm honest, I don't really know. I can only think that corrosion or stones getting trapped causing any wear/damage. I've never had it happen to me or anyone else I know though. well all i did try to get an ABS ring but no joy, i bought a set of cv joints off ebay did not fit ? so i tried another company and they sent me a set out and quess what they was the same as the first set, i had a diagnostic done it and it was coming up as fault on sensor so booked it into LEXUS for new sensor, they did a complete check of car and dianostic and came up as ABS ring? anyway you cant buy parts for the driveshaft on the mk2 so i had a new one fitted and it all ok know. just thought as i would let you all know on this topic as i did put a topic up on here about rear seat removal for sensor connecter .many thanks to all Don
4. yes mate there are some on ebay? i bought 2 sets off there but there not there same as mine they are alot smaller, the teeth on end of shaft dont have enough and also the abs ring as not got enough teeth, i have 2 sets here but there not for the mk 2, i gave them reg, vin, and id number and they said they was the ones for my car i did get a shaft off a scrappy mk 2 but the abs ring was as bad as mine, on the boxs it dos say LS400/GS300/Camry part number SU90216,all i can say it for mk1, should have gone to LEXUS today but they rang me to say in had not come in yet so its booked in tomorrow now, cant wait now to get it fixed Well had car fixed:-) was the ABS ring, or secter otherwise knone as but had to have complete driveshaft, technition at LEXUS said that the mk2 is not repairable in anyway and this I have found out over the last few months, he also said that this was the fisrt one they had ever done at Birmingham just thought i would let you all know that my problem is fixed

6. Usually leave it on a trickle charger but put a new battery in and it's the right way round. Went back to the old battery and still the same well i am sorry i cant help you but someone will be able to help you on here, but it sounds like you got a live feed going down a what should be a closed, hope you sort it soon if not get diadnostic done. As the car has been standing unused also check for corroded fuses and relays. A stuck relay may be hot, any thing thats electrical that is affected by damp etc I pulled all the relays in the engine bay last night and it made no difference. Does anyone have the details of what systems the ignition switch connects to and how? you have got a short somewhere, by the way did you know that you can damage your regulater in your alternator by charging the battery if you dont dissconnecting it? where did you spray the wd40 on switch or bonnet catch, if it was the switch unplug it and give it a good blow out to remove wd40 which could be making a short

8. try disconnecting the fan again but dont reconnect it, and try your ignition, if its ok then you have a problem with the fan or the loom going to it by shorting Tried that but it makes no difference. Also noticed that if I switch the ignition off, though the dash stays lit, the air con and radio switch off, though the arial doesn't retract. If I swith the radio off with the ignition turned on, the radio goes down and stays down when I remove the key. This has really got me stumped as some of the electronics are reacting to switching off, such as the radio, aircon and the engine stops and starts as normal. then i cant help you on this one sorry, sounds like you got live wire arking accross somewhere, have you had any work done before you had the trouble Nope, I only use the car in winter as I commute on a motorbike the rest of the year, so that car's been sat for a while. Arghhhhh I hate electrical problems ok if you only use it in winter? i take it you take battery off when not in use, if you got any loose wirers going to battery have you put one onto wrung terminal ?

Cheers Cheers for the info, I will have another go the weekend and hopefully check the connection on the abs senor, hope its just a bad connection and dont need a new one as its £150 +vat just to buy from LEXUS, at mo I just running on traditional breaking. cheers Don

18. Can anyone tell me where the DLC fuse located on the gs300 mk2 (which feeds the diagnostic port just below driverside dash) many thanks don
19. I take it that no one else as one of these so it must be an extra the last owner fitted, Thank you
20. Hi all on here, I belong to the GS300 group, I introduced a friend to LEXUS last month and he got a RX300 anyway he cant find out what this switch is for so I told him I would ask on here for him. It is a round nob on the right side of steering column and its got 0 to 1 on it, hope someone can help. Many thanks Don Just been up and had a look myself it is a small rocker switch, you can eather have it flicked on 0 or flicked on 1, it is on the steering column itself on the right.
21.

Unless from a breaker it will be a "dealer only part" I think. Daughter has same problem on her Proton Savvy and that is around £105 from dealer. Incidentally the part you require is not a wing mirror, it is a door mirror, which may or may not affect the outcome on internet searches of breakers.

some put on e bay today mk3
22. Yes mate, any other car you can change the ring but with LEXUS you gor to change drive shaft? which is a pain as the drive shaft it self is fine. anyway as i said i got 2 coming hopefully tomorrow and i can have a good look at them to see if they can be servicable, and will keep you informed. My local garage seviced my car and said that you would not think it was 12 years old it drives like a new car, only fault was this clicking . Sounds odd, I would've thought that the CV joints would be available seperately, even if the ring wasn't. Hopefully they will have it sorted soon. Update after talking to Tigerfish on pm, help needed to solve a problem after sevicing, 1, Took it into another garage not my local for a service and a check on abs clicking on actual stop and this as been like this for about 8 months no lights or buzzer on dash coming on. 2, sevice done and check done, was informed abs seners/pump all working ok ,but rear secters or abs rings on drive shaft badley worn and need replacing. 3,Driving home found that had another click developed on front wheel after service? 4, Took it back and they checked front wheel and could not find anything wrong, after driving back home found that all clicking had gone and the lights on dash was on ABS/VSC but no buzzer. Any help needed as i should be going to cornwall this weekend so need to get it sorted,is it that after service the ECU needs to be reset Well new update? have tried many places that do cv joints and have had 2 deliveries and both of them do not fit even thou they said they are for my car? so it looks like it is going to after be LEXUS for complete driveshaft unless anyone on here as had cv joints changed on gs300 mk2 and from where they got them. any joy on this mate? Have you had the sensors checked out? The reason I say that, is that the rings being worn wouldn't put the abs and vsc lights on at start up, it may confuse the system when in use, but shouldn't cause any diagnostic failures. Hi mate, Yes I did just before I went to cornwall, I have the back passenger down so need to find and check the connection as it may have been knocked on the service , this is another LEXUS part only @ 145 each or 260 fitted. anyway I think I have found where I can have driveshaft referbed @90 each and in my area but will sort sensor out first. I drove down cornwall and back with lights on just got no ABS . Question mate if the sensor dont touch the ring in anway, Y dos ring wear down (I would show you a photo but still cant put the on here) I gave up trying.
