  1. Have just developed a noise today from the front like a dry rubbing, it ok at 10 mile an hour but you can hear it above this speed and its the same on turning the steering wheel and with my foot on brakes and you can hear more with windows are shut, i think its a dry bearing but it could be caliper as i had one of the recond last year so it could be the other one, hopefully i will check out bearings, caliper, pads, disc, and back plate over weekend, also i did developed a fibration a couple of months back when braking at 70 and higher its ok at lower speed i did put this down to a wheel needs rebalancing but have not done anything about it upto now but are the 2 connected to the same problem, any addvice welcome. cheer Don
  2. ok cheers its just that my one interier light dont work when opening door its not the bulb as it works on manual turn on, guess i will leave it alone its only a light dont fancy stipping door down, thanks for your reply mate
  3. Hi can anyone tell me where i would find the switch on the rear door that brings the rear interior light on, all other cars i have had as been a little plunger switch on the door, but i cant find it anywhere on door? Cheers Don
  4. Not to sure about the antifreeze mate thats a new one on me, I have heard about the peeled spud in the water and it works but not used it for many years as the screen wash you get today is good, and good motor the 375 I had the consul mk1 colum change
  5. If anyone is in any dout relating to vehicle lighting laws. you can go to your local police station and they will show you the vehicle lighting book which covers all lights including fog lights, ie - if a light is between centre line bumper or below it is classed as a fog light "no matter what type of bulb you have fitted" (which can only be used in fog or falling snow) and also for those who change there bulbs to a higher or better speck there is a law that covers that to, there is a book there that covers bumpers or anything else about your vehicle, if in dout check yourself
  6. Law, it is a points and a fine job on fog and spot lights using them when not needed, fog lights can only be used in fog or falling snow, spot lights can only be used with main beem
  7. I agree take it to LEXUS, but just check to see if your belt is going around, which is called your old fan belt it runs your alternator, powersteering pump,ABS pump and water pump, also is it a bleep or a clicking sound you are getting. also check your brake fluid level
  8. Thought you said in your last TOPIC it wobbles on tickover?
  9. Thats why i asked about wobble on tickover? mine was a front seized caliper it drove perfect for the first couple of miles then i got the vibration bad
  10. you never said anything about back end wobbling? which could be a rear seized caliper are you sure it judders on tickover, dos it get worse the longer you drive say over 3miles
  11. You may have a plug down or damp on the electrics somewhere, the snow is thawing out now I take it you had antifreeze in? cant see it being anything to do with wheels or brakes as you you have in on tickover so it as to do with electrics or compression, how far had you driven before it had started to jodder ? if you didnt have it on tickover i would have said check to see if you had a seized caliper
  12. Are you sure it was juddering on tickover?and check and see if it is the same this morning just take it down the road and back
  13. I can understand why so many of you are having trouble, I been out every day and roards are bad and I ant had any problem getting about, other drivers have got stuck but my LEXUS just passes them, just make sure your choke as cut off before driving and use your gears not auto and use your snow button?
  14. You still need to check if anifreeze is in, just lift bonnet and stick your finger in top of rad if it clear water you ant got none in, if he is not coming till after xmas then drain your system to be on the safe side otherwise if it gets colder it could be costly, at the moment you may have been looky?
  15. Keep it, I live in Telford and we have had it bad 6/7 or 8inches in places all roads been bad, last year I changed my tyres TOYOS T1 and they are great and upto now had no problem driving every day even in this snow just use the snow button and use the gears rather than auto and tickel the brakes, use the gears instead of brakes. I have even passed a 4x4 which as got stuck but at the end of the day you cant drive like you do in good conditions, I am not saying you will not get stuck sometime alot depends on the stupid car in front, Treat your LEXUS as a lady and she will get you where you want to go
  16. Well check it out now dont wait if you ant got antifreeze in you can get loads of trouble more than you got now if it gets colder. Problems are head gasket, blowed cor plug, burst pipe, blown rad.,cracked head or block
  17. well if its weat mids, motorway is ok if you come off jk2 on m5 thats oldbury but it depends on which part you want to go, they have got the same as us i think about 6" and we had more this afternoon started about 4 o clock, anyway its the side roads you which are still bad
