  1. Yes mate, any other car you can change the ring but with LEXUS you gor to change drive shaft? which is a pain as the drive shaft it self is fine. anyway as i said i got 2 coming hopefully tomorrow and i can have a good look at them to see if they can be servicable, and will keep you informed. My local garage seviced my car and said that you would not think it was 12 years old it drives like a new car, only fault was this clicking .
  2. Hi Tigerfish Thant is what the garage called it ? but in english as i have found out is ABS ring, anyway have found out that you can ony buy it on a complete driveshaft. Problem i have is when coming to a stop and only a stop i am getting the ABS unit clicking and have been inform , after local garage stript all brakes down and checking sensers that the ABS rings on rear drive shafts are worn. After ringing around its hard to get NEW ones only at LEXUS @ 500 each, so seng e mails to several places I have managed to track 2 down in very good condition 120 the 2 and sound have them on wednesday at the latest and local garage will fit for 70. I am trying to get it fixed by weekend as I will be doing a cornwall run, I have had the clicking on it for about 8 month and it even passed MOT like it, the braking as been fine but as i said when you come to that stop then it clicks just like a relay clicking in and out. Anyway will keep you informed

  11. Hi,I had same problem a few weeks ago it just came without any prier worning, after 5 min driving i had very bad fibrating as if disc was cracked, anyway took it to my local garage, and was informed it was a seized calliper, they sent it away for reconditioning which was a lot lot cheaper than a new one,100 notes plus labour fitting for recondtioned, new one your talking 300 plus. try asking your local garages about reconditioning it.
  12. hi i had same problem a few weeks ago,my local garage found that i had seized calliper, i had it referbished for 100 notes a lot cheaper than a new one
  13. Get them done now ,or at least start doing them one at a time over the next few months that what i did and went to my local garage which was cheaper than lexus,
  14. well i got the garage report ? caliper seized will cost 90 notes to sent it away for reconditoning, just hoping its not worped the disc ? i will know in a few days when caliper is put back on,if it as then 2 new disc i will need Did they say if it was the piston(s) in the caliper, or the slide pins that had seized? Very common for either/or/both to happen. Well worth sorting the slide pins out at the same time if you have the funds (something like £8 each from lexus and there are four). If not changing them, atleast make sure they dismantle and re-grease during the job. There is a link in my sig for overhauling the slide pins. thanks for that i will go up garage today and ask the question but as they are sending it away for reconditioning will those not be checked Normally, if you are removing the caliper, you unbolt it from the slide pins and take it away. The pins stay in situe on the carrier inside the rubber boots that protect them. Unfortunately it's not a given that the pins will be serviced at the same time. If you look at the tutorials in my signature (slide pin overhaul/brake pads and discs change/caliper removal), you sholuld see the bits concerned and how they may or may not get touched by the garage during the work. Well picked up my car today took it for a short drive and all seems ok, but will take it for a better drive tomos , so dont need new discs but bill was 180

Hi, went yesterday and they said slide pins are fine it was the piston that is seized in the caliper, they should have it back today from reconditioning place this afternoon, hopefully get it back tea time if all gos well and that disc wasnt worped will know more after they have fittted caliper back on and test driven, will let you know how it turns out

  18. check your sunroof drainage? open sunroof and tip water down the drainage pipe to see if it is blocked up
  19. Thanks for info, i am only looking and pricing just incase the problem i have is the discs or caliper not sure yet,i have taken car off road at mo till i sorted. the problem started a few months ago, when braking and coming to the final stop i was getting a clicking like a relay only loader, but went out on friday went about 2 mile braked and got a joddering on wheel asif puncher or loose wheel and this was bad till i got to my mates, told him about it we went for a ride and it was perfect untill we did about 2 mile again and it happened again, anyway when i went home i tried not to use brakes and it was ok, and no i am not getting any lights on dash to say that it is abs, the feeling i got is that it is disc/caliper/barring,( pads-bushes-ball joints-tryes and ballancing or all fine).this is only happening when something getting worm or hot,ie cracked disc or worped, i have had a visual check today but cant see anything visual but if the vents are braking down in disc i wont,i have had the car 3yrs and discs do still look new, may have to book it in to have it checked over
  20. Hi everyone, can i ask you all for some advice on repacement brake disc on the front, at the mo i have vented on should i go for the same standard or grooved if i change to grooved would i have to change all 4 ?. also any advice on the make i should go for. many thanks

  22. Can't see any reason why it should make any difference. The handbrake is purely mechanical so in no way connected to the hydraulics of the normal brakes. Strange. hmmm, bit of a bugger about the plugs on the stereo. Could be why the pin outs didn't match the diagram. I cant understand it same radio, and out of mk 2 mine being 1998 and replacement radio came out of a 2001 Well I have doing a bit of phone calling to LEXUS ha ha, well when I got my replacement radio from a 2001 model from breaking on e bay they also gave me a copy of DVLA off road scrapped sheet which gave me the vin number and reg as Y, well after giving the chassie number to LEXUS it came out as a 1997 very early mk 2 not a 2001 ? not to sure on what happened to this car in its life time ? anyway still dont help but still working on wireing loom converter LEXUS dont do one well i have just got me a bran new radio same model still in box from liquidated stock and as 3 plugs not 2 and will be putting it in today, have fitted new unit well i have LCD that i can read screen woop woop, and have 2 spair units get rid of eb
