  1. Did look on there, never seem to find any thing on there. Perhaps i'm always looking in the wrong place. Looked under cars, vehicles, motorcycles., can never seem to find a specific car part. Thanks anyway. phil there some being broken on e bay, type in lexus gs300 breaking, and choose one of them, and then send them a message on what you require, then they will send you a message back with price and postage if they have got it or give them a call if they have given number
  2. can anyone tell me if chassie on the mk1 and mk2 are the same as i have the chance of buying a towbar which was from a mk1 and i would like to know if it will fit onto my mk2
  3. the snow button is a slower start off,its a 3 way switch low norm and sport, but you wont see or feel a differance unless you flick traction aswell, in snow you need to use both traction and snow mode, i can feel the differance on mine once both modes are pressed
  4. I had a set of 4 TOYOS TIR fitted a few months back at 100 a tyre, which are good on fuel and no noise cant even hear the road very smooth and they grip the road very well, had a bit of snow here and but i find that i still have to use the traction and snow mode, i had to had 3 gos to reverse onto my drive which as a slite incline but still handles well, all my big car in the past have all been the same its a thing you have to put up with unless you carry a spare set of snow tyres in the boot,
  5. Mine was originally equipped with P6000. They lasted for over 65,000 miles. I replaced the Pirellis with Turanza ER300. Very pleased with the Bridgestone, which are less noisy and handle very well in both dry and wet. these toyos are very quite they grip the road and bends great and my car is so much quiter i cant fault them in anyway, 400 well spent glad i was told about them on here Well I have have these tyres on for a few weeks now, and they are quite no road noise very good in wet grip very well and I am getting more mpg and the car seems to glide a very very good all round tyre glad I was told about them on here many thanks just a quick one on follow up on tyres in snow, not to bad still have to use traction and snow mode, just need to keep speed down in snow and they are fine i think the only way you will get a good grip in snow is to use winter tyres but who keeps a spare set of wheel for winter, but on the whole these new tyres are very good and are pleased with them.
  6. Hi, I have same problem which have just blown can you tell me how easy is it to get at the switches, how do you remove the consul to get at the 4 switches. is it that you have to remove ash tray first and then pull to unclip the consul to get at back of switches as they dont just pull out from the top Have a look at this :Center console bulb replacement DIY:http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...cator-bulb.html Pull ash tray out, unclip and pull consul up from where it meets the armrest, unclip the 3 connectors under consul and slide out. there are 4 screws that hold the switches to the consul, then pull the switches out you will see where bulbs slot into. I got my bulbs from Lexus, local parts stores do not sale them. replaced 5 bulbs cost 23 quid. ye thanks after asking you the question i found the link thanks anyway

  13. Can't see any reason why it should make any difference. The handbrake is purely mechanical so in no way connected to the hydraulics of the normal brakes. Strange. hmmm, bit of a bugger about the plugs on the stereo. Could be why the pin outs didn't match the diagram. I cant understand it same radio, and out of mk 2 mine being 1998 and replacement radio came out of a 2001 Well I have doing a bit of phone calling to LEXUS ha ha, well when I got my replacement radio from a 2001 model from breaking on e bay they also gave me a copy of DVLA off road scrapped sheet which gave me the vin number and reg as Y, well after giving the chassie number to LEXUS it came out as a 1997 very early mk 2 not a 2001 ? not to sure on what happened to this car in its life time ? anyway still dont help but still working on wireing loom converter LEXUS dont do one
  14. Hi all, can anyone explain to me on having my hand brake adjusted it also adjusted the normal foot brake peddle? its the only thing that failed on MOT. Had a couple thing on advisery

  16. wil do mate, got car booked in for it MOT tomoz? its not up till the 19th nov, but gettting it in anyway it still starts from that date anyway the new one dos as long as its not over a month early Yeah, I always put mine in a month before. If it passes, then no probs, if not, you get a few weeks to sort it out. HI Tigerfish it failed on hand brake never mind got it booked in tomorrow for the to do 35 notes parts extra if needed, just needs adjustment i hope i cant be bothered to fiddle around the hole ANYWAY do you or anybody else know abouts theses poppers on the centre vents above radio, are they clips or just push in locaters,i tried this afternoon to remove vents as explaned in sticky just not sure what they mean by poppers i have pushed a 6'' metal rule down the side all around a good 2'' so i quess poppers mean just pushed in? but i would like to make sure before i try again as i dont want to brake anything,so i hope you or someone can help me Not a bad result on the MOT. If the vents are like the Mk1, which I believe they are, then it is just a push fit. A tight push fit, but they will pop out. On mine, I angle the vents down and hook my fingers onto the bottom part of the vent surround to pull as hard as I can. You can lever them if you wanted to, but there is obviously more chance of damaging the surrounding dash/console. Cheers for that mate, cant do much today as car in garage hopefully not for long if its only adjustment I will try again over next few days Well tigerfish, I took vents out and ashtray and 4 bolts holding unit in it was a little bit of a pig to pull unit out as the sides was sticky taped also. anyway the wiring loom is different,i have 3 plugs going into the back of my radio the replacment as only 2. so i have decided not to bother with replacment well at present time anyway,i know that i could get around it by chopping and splicing, unless i can get a converstion plug kit from 3 to 2. Bit of info about MOT hand brake? I know they got disc all around and a amall drum at rear also for hand brake, how come adjusting the hand brake makes a difference on the main foot brake,do these also come on when your braking also

  20. Hi,I take it that your not used to dirving autos with cruise control, I have been driving them for many many years I love them. Cruise control are resigned for long straight roads (bends hills and are not), and answer to your questions are no it dont apply the brakes if you are going down a sleep hill it is designed to reduce the fuel and change gear which dos feel like the brakes are appied at times and speed will go up just a bit. I have always knocked mine off on hills and bends unless it the odd one. Hope this helps

  22. I would get 2nd opinion, how long you had oil leak, and are you having to top up, have you got oil in rad? not sure but i think a diagnostic would pick up if head gasket had gone, how is your car running in itself
