  1. Can't someone organise another group buy for scuff plates? If we got enough people (say 10-20) we could get a good price I'm sure.. Can someone organise this? We can begin by asking who would be potentially interested.. Me first --- I'm interested!!
  2. Had a look but can't find it.. Doesn't Chris Shipley work for a lexus garage? He would know right?
  3. Cool, thanks Fluffy B) Can anyone here who has links with lexus garages confirm the minimum tread depth?
  4. Yea I swear I read Lexus's minimum tread requirement was 4mm but I can't seem to find it... Can somebody confirm this?
  5. It's less than a week before I pick up my is200 from the dealer.. The most serious thing the RAC check found was "evidence of coolant leak around water pump bypass" Could anyone fill me in on what this is? Is it serious? When I go to get the car, how will I check myself that it has been actually sorted out? Oh and the rear wheels tread's are 3mm, is that acceptable? Thanks!
  6. I assume proper lexus mats have lexus written all over them?..
  7. On a discouraging note.. If you're young looking they won't budge at all like for me. BUT, I did get an IS200 Sport with 19K on the clock for £14,600 from a dealer.. I think that was a goodish deal so wasn't too fussed he wouldn't budge much.
  8. show us a pic of ur calipers dooooood :D
  9. I'm guessing here.. But you're called Kevin and you're young. Lexus, banks, pretty ladies, they'll all turn you down. I'm 24 and look 16.. I won't even bother asking for new calipers then Haha. I put down a deposit to a 2nd hand IS200 sport from the Swindon Lexus dealer...... let's just say they weren't too bothered.
  10. Painting calipers is pretty cool I think I'm gonna do it once I have my is200.. What colour is best for calipers on a silver is200? :)
  11. Hey Bobski, yea I agree private is always cheapest but..... I haven't seen such a low mileage is200 for so cheap in a lexus dealer anywhere in the UK, have you? They're giving me a free RAC check and 1 years RAC cover. Plus the 30,000 mile check and a free MOT. Don't forget the 1 years warranty. If I squeeze a supaguard job out of them, don't u think all-in-all this is a good deal?
  12. They had a few 2000 IS200 Sports, some were 2000 X reg, but mine was a 2000 W Reg. It had Toyota etched on all the windows, how annoying.. I'm not too fussed, but are the older ones with Toyota etched in significantly worse? Someone said at some point IS200's were made better; to include electric chairs, no toyota etchings... but the one I liked had both :duh: I managed to get them down to £14.6k for this IS200 sport in p.silver, 18.9K on the clock. Condition isn't perfect but okay. Do u think I could go lower? I want them to throw in Supa guard for free but dunno.... Any advice would be appreciated
  13. Cool.. But the spec sheet for this car mentions nothing about parking sensors.. hmm! Fishy <_< hehe
  14. I need some expert opinions.. I wanna buy this car but can u see that big hole on the left side of the bumper? What's the deal with that?

  16. Quick question, I've been looking at photos of the rear end and haven't noticed a difference between the 2000's rear lights and the newer smoked lights.. Can someone illustrate the difference to me please?
  17. That's why BMW's cost more I guess!
  18. So it'd be more than a grand?
  19. How much would it cost to have the colour of my 2000 IS200 Sport from grey to platinum ice? Just a rough figure would be appreciated.
  20. interesting stuff.. I think it's inside/engineering changes that matter, most ppl have commented on asthetic changes etc.. So far ppl have said the newer ones have EBD (electronic brake distribution?) and curtain airbags.. I guess throughout the years they haven't changed much internally.. I might hold out for a post 2001 if the price isn't too much and I can save it up.. Thanks guys!!
  21. Thanks Supracharged but I can't spend that much. I read that after '01 things such as the CD player, alloys, paint job and interior were refined.. I just wanted to know if there's a whole lot better about them..
  22. Hey everyone. It seems I'm on the verge of having enough to buy an IS200 Sport but I need your expert opinions. I've seen great Sports with 20K on the clock for £15k but they're 2000 plates. I've read after 2001 things got a lot more refined, but a '01 Sport is more costly. Please could you tell me from your experiences if it's worth me holding out for a '01. Oh and the newer ones have 3 bars on the grille right? Thanks :)
