  1. It's odd but there's quite a few CTs on sale 'second hand' on the pistonheads website. I'm going to have a look next Friday!
  2. Hello. I had mine done in December, fuel wiring and brake thingy. Lexus Sheffield.
  3. I was going to say that I'm pleased all is fixed regarding the dent! I'm sure that you will need to get the fault codes cleared once you fit the new battery, maybe others can advise.
  4. Thank you for the info. I picked a bag up yesterday, the last in Sheffield!
  5. I don't believe that the dealer missed the damage to your door at point of sale either. Shortly after I bought my car I took it to Lexus Sheffield for a service. They noticed and marked off on their check sheet tiny scratches on the boot caused by suit cases etc, so I cant see how your dealer missed a ding in the door. I'm concerned about the other issue that you have, suspect 'primer' on the arm rest. It's all a bit disconcerting. Could you visit another dealer with your car and ask them for advice?
  6. Hello Lee. This is appalling. I would be so annoyed. I would perhaps only expect this sort of behaviour from a back street garage. You have spent a lot of money on a car and this dealer should be bending over backwards to help with any concerns and offer a no quibble repair of your car. You should be enjoying the buying experience from Lexus, this is not a good way to start your journey with this marque. I would speak to the manager with haste. If he wont help kindly suggest he takes back delivery of the car and refunds you the full amount paid under their 30 day 1000mile promise. I am feeling for you, this is awful. Don't worry about finding another car of the same ilk, speak to Lexus Sheffield, who are excellent. Give them your budget and they'll find you the same car, minus the dent. There are plenty of used examples about too, follow links. Please don't settle for the dealers excuses. Let us know how you get on. LINK 1 GS 450 SEL LINK 2 GS 450 SE
  7. Car salesmen can make all the difference when buying a car. My wife bought a new A-Class last summer and the salesman was terrible, pricing, information giving, rudeness. It spoiled her buying experience when it should have been enjoyable. He was ex-Lexus apparently. We won't go back.
  8. Are you at it again, ........ Only joking! Sometimes mine can be temperamental. I just adjust the sensitivity until it sorts itself out.
  9. I don't think I've ever thought about the intensity of reversing lights while reversing, I just reverse. Apart from help from sensors, which I think the RX has, brake lights are usually more effective than reversing lights due to reflecting off a wall etc. I don't see the point in complaining either, it's a minor detail not bothering many people.
  10. Fair enough, I'd wait until if it brakes though. Tyre pressure warning systems can fail too.........
  11. That's an odd reason, I don't recall coming across a telescopic steering wheel problem before. Will you disable other features in case they brake? I would suggest calling Lexus, they would offer free advice.
  12. Don't think so as on both passenger doors and os wing and was visible when snow melted? T cut the best idea? It might be a silly question but were they there before the snow? I know sun-cream can be almost impossible to shift if at all (a warning to make sure car is waxed), I wondering if this could be something similar.
  13. You fail to mention the poor economy problem of your 220 and the engine rebuild that it also needs, is it really a 'great' car? Surley if given the choice a 250 would be a better bet and should the topic originator really 'go for it'? I'm sure you love your car but having just bought it you must be slightly disappointed and pondering your choice?
  14. Very helpful.............
  15. Buy an IS250 and forget the 220 problems and get better MPG.
  16. You also have to consider that an equivilent diesel car will have a turbo that may have to be change every 3 or 4 years, which hits the ecconomy quite hard. And that modern diesels use an awful lot of technology to try to get their emissions down to even currently acceptable levels. And therefore unreliable, as per the numerous 220D posts!
  17. That is shocking. Only petrol cars for me.
  18. Would have been worth a lot more with that plate as the Noble M600 is out soon!!
  19. Modern Audis. Take the range, A3, A4, A6, A7 maybe even the A8. Stand at the front with them all lined up, try to guess which one is which. Another note, the most cars I see on the motorway lay-by seem to be Audis. My friends A6 dropped a valve. Take a look at this forum, try to find a Lexus which has had a blown engine, gearbox etc. Sure there are some electrical things but these seem to be resolve simply enough. Don't follow the crowd, show you are a man of individuality and buy a Lexus and don't worry about it letting you down and enjoy the ownership both with the car and dealer, or buy an Audi.
  20. Have a mess about on DVLA reg site. After a quick go I found plates from £255, not very interesting plates though. Thanks Knitware. I've done just that, and come up with "GS05LXS" which is quite good (though probably lost on most people), and also "LX05MCK" (Lexus / Mickey). Both at £255, all in. Sadly, there are no numbers available which include "300", and "LEnnXUS" numbers are auction only. I'll return to this matter after I've sorted the possible ECU issue (see my other post). Thanks again, Knitware. MickeyGS No problem mate. I would buy a plate from DVLA as they seem to be a lot cheaper than other plate dealers. It's a pity about your new purchase though, you shouldn't have to worry about problems when buying a car, especially a Lexus. It's a pity you paid a deposit, my car has had the ECU changed and comes with warranty and a service plan, (winter tyres too) and I happen to be thinking about changing cars at the mo!
