  1. Barely a fail then ............. were there any Advisories ? Malc
  2. Seems like all cars are cambelt change at 100k miles and / or 10 years. Mine was last done in 2004 at 3102 miles Now done 37500 miles and I guess I'll have it done whatever in 2014. Malc
  3. This link has a link within it that should help http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=69538&st=0&p=735191&hl=+egr%20+pipe&fromsearch=1entry735191 Thanks, I've followed the thread and can't decide if blanking it off is an option ? Malc
  4. Have I read on this Forum in the past that the Celsior doesn't have EGR pipe(s) ? Is there an option of doing something with it when it " pops " other than simply replacing like with like or normal repair. Like just blanking it off somewhere ? Thanks. Malc
  5. Have a search on here to satisfy yourself regarding the cambelt as it has been changed to 100k. Steve, guys, I would like a definitive answer on this too please. There seems to be some contention with this; the Lexus chap who writes on here sometimes ............... would you know the definitive answer and also, what the risks really are if the mileage / time limit are exceeded. Thanks. Malc
  6. Not properly run in then is it ! Worry not, the cambelt will last for ages yet and the waterpump should to. De-stress .................... Use the car as much as you can and see what Advisories u get on the next MOT. Don't think the dashlights are ever a problem on other than the 93 / 94 cars ..... and I had mine fixed by ChrisVince on here........... £75. Just ENJOY your wonderful motoring. Malc
  7. Hi, look at the Post on Nitrogen Accumulator in the Steering / Suspension section this morning ! Could that be your problem ? Malc
  8. Just looked thanks but regrettably they quote £5 dearer Plus Tyre disposal charge and their fitting garage is 6 miles further than the one at £89.90 I mentioned above. Thanks for trying. Malc
  9. Thanks guys. The Blackcircles offer just happens to be out of the same garage that quoted me £89.90 ......... but just a few pence per tyre cheaper thru their website. I'll look at the logistics of the Camskill offer; thanks. Malc
  10. Hi, the standard LS 400 stereo in my earlier '92 car was just great ........... you could probably get a replacement original complete unit from Benfur on here for not much ££££. Malc
  11. Two years ago then, and 20squid cheaper ............ 15% per annum inflation doesn't sound too clever to me ! What mileage did u get / are getting from them in this time and are they on the front ? Thanks Malc
  12. Can't believe it ! Another cheapy garage is having to quote me £117.50 " all-up " for each Falken 225 / 60 / 16. He's apologised and doesn't understand why they are so expensive now. A tad cheaper than the Dunlops they might replace. Are Falkens that good then ? Malc
  13. These MOT Testers seem to individually have so much discretion these days. My g/fs mazda has had some of the same Advisories for years now .... it still drives good and maybe, just maybe, next year will see it fail on summat serious ! Rust looms .............. not like a Lexus eh ! Malc
  14. Thanks for your thoughts. Looking at the Falken website they seem very short on stockists anywhere near to me ( CT postcode ) and I think I'm going to be a bit limited on availability of Falkens specifically. I'll try some other tyre dealers then to see if they can get Falkens for me. Thanks guys. Malc
  15. Hi guys, can you help me please ? I've just been quoted £89.90 " all-up " for each of two Falkens 225/60/16 for my 94 LS400. Is this a good price do you think ? Thanks. Malc
  16. Woops, sorry I've had a long day ......... must mean Built in Charge Indicator ......... 850Amps eh .... sounds big enough for a truck ! Malc
  17. Hi, I'm on the very cheapest TalkTalk broadband package and it works fine for me ! No probs getting this page or most others at any time. CT6 postcode tho, that might make a difference. Malc
  18. I am sure that thee year model changed to " air " at some stage, but I don't know when. So to save lots of stress why not buy yourself a golden oldie, and the very, very best that money will buy, and that's going to be very, very little £ , and get one of my vintage ................ 1994 is really good, well, for me anyway. Love it to bits and couldn't be bothered with expensive gadgetry for when it all starts to go wrong ! Malc
  19. Hi, I had this issue on my earlier 1992 LS400 a few years back and never did find the culprit ! I think it might have been from an ill fitting door folowing a very much " early in the life of the car " body prang. Couldn't tell it was out of alignment tho'. I lived with it and now reflect how quiet the engine was to be able to hear those almost imperceptible " odd " noises. Good luck finding it anyway. Malc
  20. Hi and welcome ........ loadsa thoughts in this forum prior to your Q. I use 225 x 60 x 16 Dunlops and they seem to be good for me BUT I understand that FALKENS are good too and when I come to replace my front tyres ( anytime soon now ) I will probably search out a supplier of Falkens .......... believe they are top budgets........... coz this forum has said from time to time ! Hope so if I'm spending my hard earned dosh on them. Malc
  21. Welcome back ......... she looks good for her mileage. Treat her well and you know she'll love you forever ! Malc
  22. Do these bulbs ever go ? Not in my limited ( 8 ) years experience ! Is it worth having spares I wonder .... you might sell the car first for an upgrade to a newer Lexus :winky: Malc
