  1. Good work Sim. Mine will need doing this year and this has saved me a load of work and cash so thanks! Gobsmacked how much lexus charge and think they can get away with for relatively simple parts
  2. As promised here's the pics, bit more of a 'shine' than the OEM paint but still pleased with them.
  3. Its a nightmare trying to find the paint code!!! Even the Lexus dealer i bought mine from couldn't get it. Bitten the bullet and having all four stripped, repaired, resprayed and laquered the moment, get the car back on tuesday. Bodyshop seem fairly confident that whilst they cant match the exact paint code they will be able to reproduce the mirror/crome look. We'll see what happens and i'll post some pics up next week
  4. Looks the nuts Pete!! I surprised you havent been stopped at the airport yet with all the Lexus contraband you keep bringing back from the states!
  5. I've been asked to pay it before but when i've pointed that i'll be paying £400-£500 for the service and another £500 on tyres i dont expect to be charged for a hire car out of principle. They backed down and said on this occasion then'd waive it. Never paid one since.
  6. Post some pics of those? Be interesting to see them. Stu Hi Stu Here's some before, during & after pics. Will post some external ones when the weathers better. Quite pleased with how they turned out for a DIY! Steve
  7. As always it's dangerous browsing forums! Hi Stu, indeed it is, i now have 'burnt copper' brake calipers now after seeing them on the US forum!
  8. Didn't realise that the 2008 version had electrically adjustable front headrests either!
  9. Just had my 40k service done at Lexus Canterbury today and just as Stu has had varying quotes on the 60k service i too have enjoyed the bun fight over what Lexus UK want their dealers to charge and what you actually end up paying. Started off with Tunbridge Well, who did the 30k service last year, coming in at £550, Canterbury orginally quoting £545 and then reduced it to £450 with Lexus Owners Club membership discount. Final bill today £412 inc VAT and didnt even have to produce the membership card. What makes it even more bizzare is that Tunbridge Well and Canterbury are part of the same group. Appears there is 'flex' in pricing if you ask........ Worth the extra half hour drive to save best part of £150. The plot would also appear to thicken further as my rear brake pads wear has actually reduced by 10% in the last 12 months. Rear pads were 30% worn in Aug 2012, 60% worn Oct 2013, both measured at Lexus Tunbridge Wells and today only 50% worn! I have never heard of brake pads rejuvenating themselves! Customer service at Canterbury was excellant and car back, cleaned inside and out in 3 hours. Also happy to drop you in town and pick you up whilst the car being serviced.
  10. Hi Stu, have you asked them if they give discount for lexus owners club members. Mines due its 40k service and I phoned around a few dealers close to me. Tunbridge Wells came in at £580 and Canterbury quoted £430 with the members discount. Both are part of the same dealer group but one offers the discount and the other doesn't. Membership cost £60 and gives you 15% off at halfords so more than paid for itself.
  11. Yep, ive been looking at those but are quite expensive
  12. Hi Roheel Be interested to see the picture quality too, what make and model did you get? Steve
  13. Morning chaps Yes good to see you all yesterday and much more interesting that the place at Thurrock. My results were 395 at the wheels and 424.7 at the flywheel. Look forward to seeing you all soon Steve
  14. Hi stu I'm still in, can you remind me of the time and the link to their website Ta, steve
  15. I tried to get the paint code out of the Lexus dealer in Hatfield I bought my car from a couple of months back as kerbed one of the alloys. Like trying to get blood out of a stone...... I was orginally told that they didnt know the paint code as the wheels came straight from BBS. After telling them i was surprised that Lexus didnt know the specific colours of the products they sell I got this e mailed response: From: Partstech Sent: 17 April 2014 14:14 To: Bruce Lincoln Subject: Re: Ref: [1372957] - ALLOY PAINT CODE UPDATE Good afternooon Bruce I have received the following information from T.M.E.:- Mentioned wheels are chrome painted with colour code 11GY39 and clear coated afterwords Paint Colour Code 11GY39 --> minimum layer thickness = 15 µm Finishing layer Clear Coat --> minimum layer thickness = 20 µm `µm` stands for `Micro Millie Meter` Hope this info can make it possible for the dealer to repaint/repair the original wheel Regards Jo Barnett Parts & Accessories Technical Showed this to a well respected wheel refurbishment company in Crawley, West Sussex who advised that this was not a paint code...... Sort of gave up after this and will probably have all 4 completely refurbed and clear coated so that they match. Will be interested to hear what the 'top' paint guy comes up with. Also really surprised that Lexus UK think wheels are consumables..... Paint bubbling and corrosion due to high brake dust temperature burning into the wheel is a known problem and Lexus Tunbridge Wells replaced the front wheels under warranty on a 2008 IS F I had 4 years ago. Dealers dont seem so keen to do it now though.
  16. Hi Sully, these cars are bullet proof and rare! I'd buy from a lexus dealer if you can. The grey one has had LED strips fitted into the front bumper....... Also the only 'conceiveable' extra on these cars is a sunroof, everything else is standard. Also IS F's only have 4 seats! Good luck with your search
  17. Hi, i'm in depending on dates. Don't have a PayPal account but can send £20 bank transfer Steve
  18. Seriously? I'm just trying to see if there are any clues in the data Stu. If you can salvage it (was laminated! Lol), can you email it to me please! peter.payne@cathedralcapital.com Email as above please Steve. :) Cheers chaps. Done, let me know what they say
  19. No probs, sent you a text for your e mail address
  20. Evening chaps, good to catch up with you again. Agree, don't really get how a stock car can be 20hp lower than Peter's with an intake and 5hp lower than Stu's H&S exhaust, doesn't make sense. Peter's was the 3rd one on so maybe it took the operator 3 attempts to figure out how to get the best out of an IS F...... Steve
  21. Do me best, coming up from Brighton so i'd better set me alarm!
