  1. I've seen this at the Bluewater meets as well and it's a lovely car with the right colour combo for me. Sorely tempted but personal circumstances won't allow at the moment........
  2. Yep that's mine, i live just round the corner from The Star, small word!! I don't thinks i've ever seen another F other than at the Bluewater meets, let alone in a country pub car park in the middle of nowhere!
  3. Me too, changed to Michelin Pilot Super Sports and not noticed a great deal of difference in grip. The Michelins are quieter though.
  4. LED's make a massive difference IMO. Precision LED in the US do an upgrade kit for most of the interior & exterior bulbs on the car at http://www.precisionled.com/lexus-is-f-premium-led-interior-lights-kits-2007-2013.html Biggest difference was the LED reversing lights. @Peter P18 bought a load of kits back from the US a couple of years ago but I suspect you can source all the bulbs from the UK now.
  5. I'd be surprised if they had 8 used ones lying around in their workshop. You can also take the front ones out quite easily to check afterwards, it's only the 2 nearest the bulkhead that are the pain to get to. I'd be more concerned about them cracking the wiring harness on the top of the engine when they remove it & then putting the cover back on so you never notice. Mine has electrical tape on it which i'm sure wasn't part of the original design........ It's notoriously fragile due to the heat apparently.
  6. I only use the dealer now for servicing & the stamp in the log book. Discs, pads and tyres I source myself then get a local garage to fit as they do just as good a job but for half the labour costs. The servicing gets done at either the Tunbridge Wells or Canterbury dealerships but despite being owned by the same group of garages their pricing differs and for the 60K service last year they quoted a different list of what they actually did for the same service. Canterbury has been better from a 'customer service' point of view as they are more polite and will happily run you into town & pick you up when the cars ready. The car also has a tracker & Blackvue dash cam on it just in case they fancy an extended 'test drive'. To be fair I've never had a problems with that sort of thing but the Canterbury mechanics do like to floor it the 300 yards between the showroom and the workshop!! I don't think the 'salesmen' are particularly good at knowing their product as other people have mentioned. I test drove an RC F at Tunbridge Wells last year & I knew more about the car than the salesman!! The mechanics know far more about the car than the people trying to sell them in my experience! It's in for its 70K service at Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday & they havn't seen the car for a couple of years so will be interesting to see of their service has improved.
  7. I wondered the same thing when i had my 60K service done last year and asked the dealer to leave the old plugs out for me as i wanted to see how worn they were.
  8. Yep is the best colour IMO, used to have a grey 2008 one and upgraded to this colour combo a couple of years later. No probs keeping it clean, but don't have any kids so that helps. Use Dodo Juice Supernatural Leather Cleaner and that removes any marks or stains including the wife's wax jacket marks!
  9. Had my 60K service done June 2016 & paid £761 inc VAT. Here's what they did: The 60k service includes: Oil and filter change · Pollen filter change · Brake Fluid Change · Diff oil change · Spark plug change · Key fob battery change · Wheels removed and thorough inspection of brakes · Coolant check · Air Filter check · Suspension check · Light check · Torque up the wheels · Adjust tyre pressures These are the main items covered in the 60k service. The labour total is £397.44, and the parts/oil cost is £365.56. Also got another quote from a different dealer who quoted me £895 and then dropped to £718 with LOC discount but didn't include the brake fluid change. Basically I went to 2 dealers, got 2 different prices and 2 different work schedules, ended up going to the one slightly further away from me & more expensive as I they did more items on the service and had treated me well in the past, IE not charged me for a courtesy car when I needed one & happy to drop you in to town & pick you up later whilst the car was serviced. A deal can be done for less than £895 but just check what they actually do or don't do for the discount!
  10. 1 - Performance, rarity, build quality/reliability 2 - Better Satnav/phone integration, ventilated seats, slightly louder exhaust than standard 3 - C63 AMG (6.3l V8 just to see what all the fuss was about), RCF (Is it any better than an IS F????, more power but heavier......), Not really much else out there in the 'sports saloon' category that ticks the boxes for performance and reliability I don't think.
  11. I had to have one fitted on mine when I bought it in 2012 at the insistence of my insurance company. Ordered it from Trackers website and then fitted a week later in my car park at work. Choose the Locate model as had the 4 way tracker rather than just 2 way. Have no idea where it is on the car & fitter was excellent with no marks left after fitting. When the insurance renewal came up in 2013 & 2014 insurance company didn't require a tracker so cancelled the subscription and then in 2015 & 2016 then did so just called Tracker & had them switch the unit back on. Have had no problems with it and the on line tracking system is good, although could do with an update & mobile app. Get a call from them every time it goes in for a service & the battery is disconnected. Personally I wouldn't get Lexus to source & fit one as buying from Tracker direct was fine for me and getting the dealer to do anything is always more expensive.
  12. Good effort chaps, despite the weather & looks like 5 is the new 4!
  13. Bit of a thread revival (again) but thought I'd update the thread having just replaced the front pads & discs and rear pads. Lexus originally quoted the £1294 and then £999 after discount. Thought I could do better so bought the Brembo front discs from here http://www.bestpartstore.co.uk/1657687 - £156 inc shipping. Took about a week to arrive from Germany. Already have Hawk Ceramic Pads on the front, they stop better IMO & have lower dust compared to the OEM Brembo's, and now they do the same compound for the rears so ordered new fronts and rears from Cambridge Motorsport. - £321.69 inc delivery. http://www.cambridgemotorsport.com/node/5928 The part no for the rears is HB722Z.652 as it doesn't appear on their website but spoke to Jon at Cambridge Motorsport and he was very helpful in sourcing them! Local garage have fitted for £100. All in £577 saving £422 compared to the dealer. Nice!
  14. Cheers fellas although now I know why i don't post much as put this in the wrong place........... Should be here http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/98530-save-money-on-brakes/#comment-905708

  16. Did mine in burnt copper and Brembo decals last year. Suits the USB colour well I think
  17. I asked about an azure blue with grey interior RC F non carbon with torque vectoring when I picked my car up from its 50k service in Canterbury on Saturday. Salesman e mailed me yesterday with a quote advising a delivery date of December 24th. No mention of supply shortage or all being hybrids next year.
  18. Great to see everyone today at the Bluewater meet with guest appearances including an RC F and Porsche. Good to see 7 IS F's in one place!! Here's the clip of the different exhausts, enjoy!!!!
  19. Had mine for 2 years now and the seats still look good. Bit more wear and tear on the drivers seat but gets cleaned with Meguiars leather cleaner & conditioner every six months and comes up a treat. Doesn't really mark from blue jeans etc. I wouldn't let the fact that it's white put you off, doesn't really require a lot of maintenance. hi dave, think i have an identical car and wanted to know the Meguiars product you use is it seperate cleaner and conditioner or is it the all in one Meguiars product? Thinking of giving my seats the once over and so if it works for you will give it a go. Cheers Sent from my iPad using Lexus OC Hi Depak, I use the Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner & Conditioner applied with a microfibre towel and then polished of with a clean one
  20. id be down for that Yep, not too far from me either
  21. Congrats on the purchase and like most people on her say, always puts a smile on your face when you push the 'start' button and i still haven't got bored of mine!
