  1. Hi, Is Lexus repairing your car? I believe I have the same issue and have been asked by Lexus dealer for the information - the link states there is no attachment found for the IS250? Ta
  2. Gents/Ladies, I know this MAY have been covered before........ On two occasions in the last week, after a cold start (leaving the vehicle for two or more days outside), the car makes a racket on start up. I press the start button, the engine engages, only to be followed by a sort of 'crunching' noise. Probably not as dramatic as that - it is best described as the noise of a playing card caught in the spokes of a bike wheel. An odd comparison, but the best I could think of. It lasts for about a second. And only when the car is started from very cold. I read previous thread which may describe it, and there was a Lexus TSIB for a similar type repair. Does this sound like the same fault? Lexus Edinburgh have agreed to look at it and are interested in previous similar faults and fixes. They have had no similar reports. They are also going to look at another issue - a tapping noise, again from cold, when the vehicle is placed under light load. Sounds mechanical and expensive. Oh and a dash rattle (yes, from the passenger side). Regards.
  3. still a classic design............
  4. Hi, Was roaming around on www.cleanyourcar.co.uk and saw some interesting waxes - Dodo Juice and Victoria Wax. Anyone any experience before I splash out Cheers
  5. Incredible pics - what a shine - loving the new GS
  6. I dont use my car Monday to Friday, so its parked up in a car park, whilst I work away. I have only just noticed something odd, perhaps someone can explain it. When I come back to my car on the Friday, I find that there is no play in the brake pedal. Its rock hard. When I press the ignition button, it releases and is back to normal. I compared it with it being parked up overnight in my garage for a night, and it was fine. Seems it only happens after its been parked up for a while. Any ideas??
  7. I've purchased the slightly bigger one. Let's see what it looks like.
  8. I like the bigger one too. The seller says the spoiler needs to be bolted on. Don't fancy that. Can I just get 3M tape and stick it on? Any ideas? Cheers again
  9. Seeing as Bumflake :D is looking to put Sport rims on a non-sport spec Lexus, would the vehicle need to be lowered too? Is there any height difference with a Sport?
  10. it's ok mate just one of them things, the car was parked on its own on the drive Its a definite tow-away. But they would need a full-lift. Its impossible to do without the keys. Have you bought it recently? Are you sure another set of keys were not made for this vehicle? Lexus MAY be able to tell you, although it can be dealer specific.
  11. Hi, Having reserached Ebay for some considerable time, and a stubborn refusal to purchase from Lexus I have found these rear spoilers for sale. But which one is best? Please try to remain impartial in your decision - I note one of the spoilers is for sale by an LOC contributor! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOMs-Lexus-IS250-IS2...A1%7C240%3A1318 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEXUS-IS250-06-08-TR...A1%7C240%3A1318
  12. I will phone Lexus Edinburgh/Glasgow tomorrow about the steering 'recall' - This seems kinda important and needs some clarification! Lexus Glasgow did tell me about the aircon 'recall' - £1000 job to replace some unit or other. I said forget it just now, for fear of horrendous rattles appearing in the dashboard (its a dashboard out job).
  13. The sidelight replacement takes some practice...... For the nearside bulb: Remove plastic covers which hide radiator etc Use 10mm spanner to remove the piece of plastic which holds the windscreen washer bottle; it gives you room to manouvere Hand in; watch for skin scraping. there is a metal clip which holds a plastic cover in place on the left hand side as you look down on it. Unclip it (this is a little difficult) and carefully remove. This gives acces to the bulb; twist remove, replace. When replacing the bulb cover make sure it is firmly locked in place. Use a torch to see what you are doing. If it isnt in place your headlamps will mist up when it rains!!

    Cloning

I have only experienced cloned keys from many years ago. It happened when you pressed the key fob to unlock the vehicle and the thief was nearby and 'grabbed' the frequency using electronic wizardry. When you left he would simply press the button on his 'grabber' and it unlocked. New security systems overcame this by using rolling codes. Each time you pressed the key fob, the frequency changed, rendering 'grabbers' useless. The only question I would ask, if someone DID have a cloned fob, why havent they stolen the car? Lets face it, you wouldnt hear a thing in the 400h. For the technology that would be required to clone the fob professionally, stealing items from your car seems 'unprofitable'. Get Lexus to check the system is working (I know this is obvious).

    Ipods

I have been to NY a couple of times now. There are a lot of 'Electronics/Camera' stores in Times Sq. etc that sell Ipods and numerous other branded goods, allegedly a lot cheaper than normal. Has anyone bought from one of these stores? Anyone had any difficulties? You never get anything for nothing.........
  17. then you need to make a further purchase!!

  19. Hi all, I am going to New York in a few weeks and want to buy an Ipod Nano to replace my old Ipod. Can I assume there are no difficulties in purchasing one in the US as opposed to here? I am kind of hoping they may be slightly cheaper.... Anyway, can someone tell me what will happen when I plug in the new Ipod to my PC which holds songs from my old Ipod. Will it reject it, or is it a smooth transition? Cheers
  20. Couldn't have summed it up any better myself. Gies a shot o' yer ISF..............
