Gents/Ladies,
I know this MAY have been covered before........
On two occasions in the last week, after a cold start (leaving the vehicle for two or more days outside), the car makes a racket on start up.
I press the start button, the engine engages, only to be followed by a sort of 'crunching' noise. Probably not as dramatic as that - it is best described as the noise of a playing card caught in the spokes of a bike wheel. An odd comparison, but the best I could think of.
It lasts for about a second. And only when the car is started from very cold.
I read previous thread which may describe it, and there was a Lexus TSIB for a similar type repair.
Does this sound like the same fault? Lexus Edinburgh have agreed to look at it and are interested in previous similar faults and fixes. They have had no similar reports.
They are also going to look at another issue - a tapping noise, again from cold, when the vehicle is placed under light load. Sounds mechanical and expensive.
Oh and a dash rattle (yes, from the passenger side).
Regards.
