  1. If I were you I would buy a better quality system, e.g. Pioneer, Alpine, Sony, Kenwood etc. Although they are more expensive the build quality is far superior and are less likely to go faulty.
  2. They can't prove he is the main driver unless the police is watching the car daily.
  3. But if he doesnt put himself as a named driver the premium wont be as much because of his conviction.
  4. How much is it for your partner to insure the lexus for a year? If its £1000 or less fully comp then you could still save money on your idea of insuring a banger.
  5. You can buy a amp bypass lead from ebay which plugs into your amp enabling you to use aftermarket stereos and have no problems with speakers for around £40. Then your options for stereos will depend on how much you want to spend. you will also need a new fascia, which you can get for £10-£15 from autoleads or ebay.
  6. As smokeybaz said the Sport is best to go for as it has all the extras, it is slightly lower than the SE aswel. But the car is more designed for luxury and compfort rather than power, but if you say you are going to be working with the engine you could have luxury, compfort and power. Also the engines outlast many other brand of cars, even your 1.8..car. I hear a lot of people complain of petrol but if you drive without trying to raz it, the return isnt so bad. Try and get one with a good service history and is clean inside the cabin and in the engine bay, atleast then you know the person had looked after it.
  7. Waitin for feedback on ebay lightmeup
  8. Unless you buy a kit second hand that someone is selling, I doubt you will get a full turbo set up for that money! Best to keep an eye on ebay for parts, and search deeper into this section of the forum, you will find some good information that will help.
  9. Jason, how many do we need before this group buy happens? thanks
  10. Id be interested, what kinda price are we talking, Ive seen them on ebay for sale from the USA.
  11. Hi, I just want to know where people get there wind deflectors from, and wether they buy the JDM ones or just stick on ones. JDM ones ive seen for £155 which to me is quite expensive but they say they are better than the stick on ones.
  12. I ripped 1 of mine off the othe day for a repair and I dont remember seeing any, it wouldnt be too much of a problem if there was if your handy with fibre glass
  13. get your dial code and state wether it is manual or auto
  14. you can buy a CD based manual on ebay, they are quite cheap, doubt haynes do a manual for Lexus.
  15. What do you think of theseAnti Roll Bars, is it worth it?
  16. Did you get them from a website, I am mostly seeing them from the USA or Japan, also, does the under bonnet strut brace make a difference or is it just for engine dressing?
  17. You will know when you it 6000 revs, it sounds sooo sweet! I rev it on my drive sometimes just to hear the beast kickin in.
  18. Maybe, I hope so for your sake because Lexus are luxury cars, so don't want them sounding cheap if you understand. I want mine as quiet as possible so people cant hear me creeping lol. Also don't want much sound coming into the cabin because working on the ICE a lot this time.
  19. Hi people, I will be investing in some handling products later on in the year if funds allow, Anti Roll Bars and Coilovers. Starting with coilovers I would like to know which ones are best to go for, and which are best to avoid if anyone knows. my budget is around £600 so I want to get something decent for my money. Ive listed below some that fall into my budget so If anyone could point me in the best direction. I dont do track days or drifting, just want to lower the and hopfully get a better ride. Tein Basic - £591.31 Daiyama - £599 BC Racing - £599 Slightly over budget D2 Racing - £646.19 For Anti Roll, I want to start under the car first, just need advice on a decent website that someone has used before and what ones to go for if there is much choice, prices would be a bonus so I can budget for them.
  20. How old are you stix, and how long have you been driving? I done another search and new quote is £1551.23 with Right Choice (but to me it would be the wrong choice at that price) Im optimistic that prices will come down next month, deffinately hope so by June
  21. Thats without the centre silencer, I would have the silencer on mine because that sound in the video sounds like a half done up boy racer corsa
  22. Surely you can get a much better deal than that, have you tried money supermarket? Im going to have another go today and see what the difference is. But £2K+ is beyond belief! id expect to pay that if I were driving an Evo 8!
  23. Tony, its just a rip off, In my eyes insurance isnt anything to do with how long you have had your licence or how many years NCB you have or how old you are, because as youve just stated youve been driving 8 years, but your insurance has gone up nearly double! There are some 20 year olds paying a lot less than us. But I think when people come to re-new their policy if its within the next 3-6 I think they will see a rise. Im going to wait until summer to insure mine.
  24. I'll be getting the middle pipe and rear box, even get a choice of tips aswel which is good, and might add a few bhp, maybe 5 lol
  25. Ive got the Cobra sport exhaust on my to get list, deffinately getting it beacuse for the price it seems reasonable. Getting the middle and rear. Havent seen one in real life though.
