  1. The IS200 and RX-8 uses the same gearbox apparently :P
  2. Yeah seems like it: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-GS-300-3-0L-SPORT-AUTO-LOVELY-CONDITION-THROUGHOUT-FOR-AGE-/221349798113
  3. Hi, have you tried swapping the front wheels with the rears?
  4. Congratulations on your new car, and welcome to the club! :)
  5. Found it: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/78514-figs-brackets-to-mount-supra-tt-323mm-front-discs-on-is200is300altezza/ So still no idea on fitting the Supra TT calipers then lol... I'll grab my coat
  6. In any case, I believe you need adapters to mount the Supra TT front brake calipers fit your stock calipers onto the bigger 323mm UK spec Supra discs. Sprinter2012 had these adapters for sale not too long ago on here (or OJC... can't remember).
  7. The stock IS200 brakes, with stock disks and pads, is plentiful for the car. I can testify that mine were fade-free after a lap of the 'ring. ;)
  8. Agreed, and I guess you could say the same about Mazda too; not obscenely powerful or complicated cars for their class (MX5, RX8, etc) but focussed more on the driving experience and making the car as light as possible to achieve this.
  9. Then may I also suggest Honda's finest: http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/first-drives/honda-legend-3.5-v6 http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/honda/legend/honda-legend-3-5i-v6-vtec-sh-awd-ex-dvd-sat-nav-hft-rev-cam-at/1596523 (for example) Had the pleasure of driving one for a week back when I was in Australia, and it was such a cracking car. Punchy engine and taut handling if I may add.
  10. Hondaman, I think your best bet is to post the same question in a BMW forum. The folks over there should be able to give you proper advice on what it is like to own and run a 330i. As to how it drives in comparison to the IS250, I guess it's worth taking one for a spin and letting us know what you think. :) I completely understand your need for a slightly more agile car. I live in Milton Keynes, and having a less wafty car can be a plus with all the roundabouts over here. My job also requires me to travel to sites that are often located in remote and obscure locations - but they are connected by some really nice (and quiet) country roads, which can be rewarding to drive on in a well-sorted car without ever exceeding the speed limit. To somewhat answer your original question, I own both a BMW and a Lexus. And despite being the barge that it is, my 745i still out-manoeuvres my IS200. But discussing the driving dynamics of a BMW in a Lexus forum is the same as discussing the reliability of a Lexus in a BMW forum - it often leads to "amusing" replies :P Let us know how you get on. On another note, did you consider the current-shape Honda Accord as a possible replacement?
  11. Here you go buddy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torquefree The app works together with a Bluetooth-capable OBD2 reader to diagnose fault codes. ;)
  12. I don't think the GS300's engine bay is short on space. I mean they crammed the same engine into the smaller IS300 and that has a conventional brake booster setup ;)
  13. Are the gearing and final drive ratios between the GB and US IS300 autos the same?
  14. The 2nd option gets my vote too. How would you set the high beams to shine at 20%?
  15. Any chance that one of your brake calipers are binding? A car with a binding brake caliper will look 100% on the wheel alignment machine, yet will pull to one side while being driven. Seeing that the car has sat idle for a while, this just got me thinking...
  16. Merry Christmas to all and happy holidays! Hope everyone has achieved what they set out for this year. To a prosperous 2014!! :)
  17. Hi all, just out of interest, I've been reading the threads here about the GS300's electric brake accumulator system. However, one question that I can't seem to find the answer to is... why does the GS300 have such a system fitted in the first place? Does the electric accumulator system offer something that the traditional vacuum brake booster doesn't? Is there something particular to the design of the car or the engine that necessitated such a system? Just curious really :)
  18. Congratulations on your new car, looks gorgeous in white. :)
  19. Just out of curiosity mate, at what RPM does the engine sit on while doing 70 on the motorway?
  20. Have a look at the attached filed. Hope that helps. location_uebersicht.pdf steps_to_compressor.pdf
