  1. I've just read the first post on this thread and the letter from Lexus, what an absolute load of old codswallop to say that the reversing lights aren't there to aid driving. I have mentioned elsewhere on this subject that I have. on numerous occasions, found myself in very narrow lanes in total darkness, no lighting whatsoever, and, having to reverse. It's a total nightmare. Whoever thought up the idea of having only one reversing light needs their head examining. It's fine in a lot of situations, but certainly not in many others.
  2. I'm not 100% certain of this but I think that the dipping mirror function only comes with the top of the range jobby's i.e. the Premier versions.
  3. A big welcome Andrew sounds like you really know your stuff/ Enjoy your new car.
  4. I have had another look this morning and the power cable definitely seems to go into the centre console at the back of it and not across into the drivers side footwell. I'm wondering if they have made the connection to something in there. How easy is it to get into this area, anyone done it? Also, how easy is it to remove the trim (without breaking any clips!) around the base of the door openings. If it's not too bad I might be able to get the rear camera cable out and just leave the power cable in situ.
  5. The necessary wires etc for mine come in at around 75 euro's. I have a rear camera and a GPS unit in the windscreen. I might still leave it as it is a lot of hassle really. Thanks for the input chaps.
  6. Hi Matt, thank you for your input. As I said in my original post, I have dropped the panel that is beneath the glove box and I can see the power feed cable and it definitely either goes somewhere within the centre console or passes behind it to some power source on the drivers side. It definitely doesn't go into anything on the passenger side. I haven't been able to find your instructions yet.
  7. I am trying to take the dashcam out of my car and have run into a bit of a problem and am wondering if anyone might be able to help please. I have managed to partly free the trim at the passenger side of the windscreen and have got at the cables. I can't seem to be able to (easily) get the trim completely out though. I have dropped down a panel that lies beneath the glove box and can get hold of the cables but, I think that I need to remove the glovebox itself. I have removed the three screws across the top of the glovebox but cannot see any other fixings in order to get it out. has anyone removed theirs? The main power cable seems to go behind the centre console, is there a fuse box there or perhaps it goes behind the console to the other side of the car. If anyone has any tips on getting this out, I will be forever grateful. Many thanks
  8. Is it possible to check the service history of a Lexus on-line via the Customer Portal or suchlike? Thank you
  9. I just love this. Read it in bed at about 5.30 this morning and had a good chuckle. Great way to start the day with a smile, thanks peachy.
  10. I put this in another section and whilst it's had a number of views there are no replies so I thought I would try it here. Someone must have an answer I would have thought. Is there much of a difference between Lexus Navigation and the Premium Navigation. Bearing in mind the many adverse comments on here about the SatNav in Lexus cars (along with the considerable cost of updating the maps) , if you were buying a car now and you wanted to stick with Lexus, would you buy with or without satNav and make use of a standalone jobby? I know that some people use their phones very effectively. Thank you.
  11. I've always stuck mine on with sticky pads and have never had a problem. In fact they take some getting off when I'm doing a vehicle change.
  12. Hello folks, is there much of a difference between Lexus Navigation and the Premium Navigation. Thank you.
  13. Can anyone confirm that the 2012> RX450h Luxury comes with Cruise Control please? I can only see it mentioned in the spec for 2009> SEL-Premier and then I don't see it mentioned again until the 2012> FSport Model and that's as an option with the Pre-Crash System. Many thanks
  14. I've justed spotted that you have a 2016 model, is that the 4th gen version. I am looking at the 3rd gen and so might be different. I've only got one on my IS, stupid idea really!
  15. Paul, you refer to reverse BULBS, does the RX have one or two reversing lights?
  16. Thank you Rayaan, you have spent some time looking those cars up for me, I'm very appreciative of that, thank you. The last one, the Premier model at Wolverhampton looks very nice and not too high a mileage figure either. The only thing that concerns me about that is the fact that it has got air suspension which I think that you mentioned in an earlier post. Am I right in thinking that they are not including that in the RX4's now? Do you know what a side monitor is? Also, do you know if the wing mirrors angle down when reverse is engaged. Thanks again for all your efforts. Just hoping that I get something positive on my own car now. If I get a buyer, the two cars that seem very interesting are both at Wolverhampton and so it would be relatively easy to test drive both.
  17. Hi Daniel, thank you for your comment regarding Hedge End. Yes I have had a look on-line and they do have a number of 3RX models which I will study a little more carefully later. Looking at their stock of NX's at their three outlets, they have a fair few of them as well but, they have nothing below £29750.
  18. Blimey Rayaan your eyes are a damn sight sharper than mine. I'm blowed if I can see some of the marks that you can. I think I need to pay you to come with me when I decide to buy!! What about this one then, it's a one owner jobby. Thanks again for your input. https://wolverhampton.usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/NX-300h/25-F-Sport-Premium-Navigation-t7bj5ts
  19. I might try to get down to Plymouth to have a look at the 3RX before making a final decision but, in the meantime I have spotted the following, all of which seem quite interesting. Thoughts anyone? https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/NX-300h/25-Premier-u3bj8gs https://www.parkers.co.uk/lexus/nx/4x4/300h-25-f-sport-5d-cvt/for-sale/usedcfs-210004546862471/ https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/NX-300h/25-F-Sport-5dr-Auto-Navigation-Parking-Sensors-POWER-TAILGATE-mqbj9jd https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/NX-300h/25-Luxury-with-Lexus-Navigation-mqbj88n
  20. Snows Group Exeter, Plymouth and Hedge End. They do have a few 3RX's but they are at their Hedge End branch. I have spotted one at the Plymouth branch, if I get a chance I might get myself down to Plymouth to have a look. It's got 55000 on the clock and so getting close to needing plug replacement. Whatever I get I'm hoping for much lower mileage.
  21. Thank you Daniel. Yes I'm really looking forward to trying a 3RX but there aren't any around down here unfortunately. Having said that, I haven't had a look for a few days, I'll do it now. I don't think that it is worth me trying the 4RX (of which there are plenty available) because it will be different and I can't afford one!
  22. Some of you will have seen from my posts in other sections, that I am currently undecided whether to go for the 3rd gen RX450h or the NX. I have driven the NX and I do like the car very much, I think that the look of the exterior and interior of the NX is better than the RX but as I say, I am only going by photographs of the RX and so may change my mind when I get to sit in one. My question to you fellow members who are NX owners is, if I eventually choose to buy one, should I go for the Luxury or the F Sport model. I have heard said that there is a difference in the ride but, is there really that much of a difference. I find the interior of the F Sport very appealing. I have the Premier IS300h at the moment and do like all of the bells and whistles but, I can't afford to go to the Premier version of the NX. Any comments will be gratefully recieved. Thank you
  23. Well, still no test drive in a 3RX, I haven't even sat in one yet! I have mentioned before that I am undecided between a 3RX and an NX. I have driven an NX over a distance of about 70 miles and must admit that I do like it. I think that the look of both the exterior and the interior of the NX is much better than the RX (IMO) but not having even sat in a 3RX I am only going by the photographs of the 3RX's for sale. The interior of the 3RX looks a bit on the basic side to me. I did a check on insuring a 3RX and it seems to be about £100 p.a. more than an NX.
  24. Yes it will be a 3RX but I'm still hovering between the RX and the NX at the moment. I still haven't had an opportunity to test drive a 3 RX. There doesn't seem to be many about in my area. I keep looking every day.
