Hi Martin, the latest diagnosis by Lexus Notts is shock absorbers. I'm actually dropping it off this evening. The GS430 was very fast, although I was a bit disappointed with the ride. I thought that it would be much better than the Sport as it was an SE, but to be quite honest it wasn't that much different. I don't think that my knocking is brake related. If I drive along with my foot on the brake, the noise is still the same, and there is also a grinding/squeeking noise when turning sharply at low speeds. I think that this is probably the shock absorber top mount. We'll see anyway... :D

Yes, It was Ifraz. He thought that it was a manhole cover that had flipped up. We went back the next day to take a photo, but couldn't find it.

Thanks for that Martin. Mine's going in to be looked at this week. I'll mention your findings. I'm getting a GS430SE on demo instead of a courtesy car, so I'll be able to compare the ride quality of the two, as well as the performance!

I haven't got around to sending mine back to be checked again yet. I will probably call them tomorrow to arrange this. I'll let you know what (if anything) they find

I heard that he had some eyebrows, illuminated scuff plates and silvervision indicator bulbs fitted. That would explain the max speed. I have done over 20,000 miles with that Sat Nav unit, and it never lies...

Use the UCase() function for example, if you want to change the text in a textbox called Textbox1 to upper case, use: Textbox1.Text=UCase(Textbox1.Text) If you are using Visual Basic .NET, use Textbox1.Text = Textbox1.Text.ToUpper Hope this helps.

Do you know what the difference is between the new and pre-facelift suspension? Just wondering whether an upgrade might be viable. I suspect that cost might be a limiting factor. -

I did 2000 miles in Europe over 5 days between Christmas and New Year and only saw 5 Lexus's. I think that it was a 2 RXs, 2 LSs and an IS.

I would agree with that comment on mine, certainly as far as the suspension goes. I knew when I bought it that a lot of people were unhappy with the ride quality, but I think, on a £40k car it is not good enough. I accept that when buying a 'Sport' model I should expect a firmer ride, but on anything other than glass smooth surfaces it crashes and bangs all over the place. I'm hoping that with some new suspension bushes, things will improve. Keep us posted on how you get on. :D

Thanks for that Colin. One question though - am I supposed to push the windscreen outwards from the inside whilst driving, or inwards from the outside before driving?

That reminds me of when I was a kid, I posted the keys to a Cavalier that my Dad had hired down one of the heater vents... He wasn't impressed! :P Glad you got it sorted cheaply mate.
