  1. It was good to meet some new people and see some fantastic cars. Some of them could have been a bit cleaner though... Luckily, Lexus Nottingham washed mine on Saturday!
  2. Up until recently I had Pirelli P-Zeros on the front of mine. I did have a "dodgy wheel bearing" type noise which varied in pitch with speed. Cornering didn't make any difference to the noise. I only noticed it on smooth roads. I have just replaced them with Michelin Pilot Sports, and the noise has gone. You could temporarily swap the wheels around (fronts for backs or something) and see if the noise changes. I have been surprised in the past at some of the noises that tyres can cause. Mine has a bit of wind noise from around the windscreen and drivers door. If you manage to get this fixed, let me know how!!! When I bought mine, there was quite a bit of judder from the front discs. These were replaced, but 4000 miles on, it seems to be coming back, although I'm not convinced that this isn't suspension bushes or something. Mine has done about 90,000. I agree that with a car as new as yours which I assume is under warranty, you shouldn't have to test things out yourself or fight to get things like this fixed. Good luck!
  3. Lexus Nottingham have got a Yellow IS200 in the showroom. Not to my taste, but if you want to be exclusive...
  4. IS's are definitely very common now. A bit like 3 series B*Ws... GS's on the other hand...
  5. At this rate there won't be any GS's left in the club! I'll have to answer my own questions!
  6. Mine does it, although not as noticeably as my old B*W 528. I only really notice it when I have been driving at a constant speed - say 60 in 5th - and then go down a steepish hill. If I then brake lightly to keep the speed at 60, it does change down into 4th.
  7. Thanks for the reply Colin. I don't know whether they drove it or not. I only really notice it on the poor quality roads. As you probably know, the GS Sport suspension is not the best in these conditions anyway, but the noises only come from the near side, so I know that something is amiss. I'll be giving them another call on Monday. Any ideas on what the graunching noise could be? Could this be down to the shock absorbers as well?
  8. A few years ago, when we still got proper snow, I remember seeing a couple of people aiming their new off roaders at the closest snow drift and getting stuck. They seemed to think that because they had 4 wheel drive they could get through anything. They used to come onto our yard asking for someone to pull them out with a tractor. Quite often, they had no idea how the 4x4 systems worked in the vehicles. If they had, they could probably have driven out.
  9. What... You mean you were putting your makeup on using the rear view mirror?
  10. I just picked my GS up from Lexus Nottingham after having both front bottom balljoints replaced. Although it feels a bit tighter to drive, it still makes a knocking noise over bumps in the road. It also makes a slight graunching noise when turning to the right. This only happens when moving though. Are there any other known weak points in the suspension? I did ask them to check all of the front suspension bushes for wear, but they seemed to think that all was well.
  11. I'm sure that my Max Power Nova SR (in black) did me more favours than any of my decent cars have...
  12. Yeah - I'm surprised too. Last time I spoke to Gus he was unsure about whether to put a new exhaust on. Now look. A supercharger and new side repeaters. Where's it going to end?!! :P
