  1. Deep down, whilst girls dont show as much of an anal interest as us blokes about cars, there are a lot of girls out their who would love to turn up in front of their mates with a bloke in an expensive car. THEY HAVE EGO'S AS WELL
  2. Hey, I'll sell them for you on gold - of course there would be a small commission of a brace of turbo's to bolt on to my GS B) Seriously though Steve, I agree that rules are rules and you cant break them but how do we get to find out what this guy has. l know us GS'ers are the minority but it would be good to see whats in the sweetie shop!!

  5. Respect to the guys who are doing all this work! You mentioned a couple of times that the site is not finished so you must have plans to change it - so, do you already know what you are going to change, and if so why dont you let us all know. If you dont have a plan, then you are probably going to listen to what we have to say, in which case if we give constructive comment then it can only help. Either way let us know what your plans are and we can act accordingly Cheers ;)
  6. My experience is that no one likes change unless it's for the better. This looks good and quite slick, but in my opinion there was nothing wrong with the old one. HOWEVER - There is too much space taken up with the top half of the screen. Nearly half of the screen is used up with the header bar and images, a massive space between that and the nav bar with the union jack and loads of space either side of the links to Lexus Owners Club -> Site Suggestions -> Add a suggestion -> New Forum Look. If this was changed then it would result in much lessa scrolling being required. Keep up the good work though ;)
  7. Did anyone see the Mark Thomas comedy project on TV a couple of years ago - it was bl**dy hilarious - he went up in a hot air balloon approaching Menwith Hill on the mobile to his mum, stating keywords such as bomb, gadaffi, IRA, war, etc. After a couple of minutes, a load of armed guards came out in big american jeeps telling him nicely to get down - class!
  8. Lately I have seen posts about uniting the Lexus and asking what the word Lexus means to others. But when I think about it, I think does it really matter? It is a word with different meaning to different people, yet that one word still unites us all, regardless of side or aspect. We all live up to the title we go by as we see fit. No matter what side, aspect, or way it is perceived. Whether as a faith, religion, or just something to aspire too, we live by what we believe and by our own defintion of words. So does it truely matter what others see the word Lexus as? Now don't get me wrong, I am all for questioning and learning different points of view, anyone who knows me will tell you that. I am always questioning, searching for a universal answer hidden under different views and words with different meanings. Because we use words from a car, does that mean we have to do mods or build lightbrows(even though some do because it is fun, myslef include)? And because we see things different and go to different sites and live in different areas, does that mean we can't unite under the word Lexus or the LOC for that matter? And because society is ignorant of us and most do not understand us, does that mean we should keep quiet and stay hidden, only to be LOC on-line? Many say unite, I am united. I am united with myself, I am united with the LOC, I am united with Lexus , I am united witth all the sites I go too, I am united with everyone who calls themselves a LOC member and means it. Are you? Or do you need a place to go, either on-line or inperson or both? If you do then I can give you places to to go. On-line, The Lexus United at www.Lexus.com (takes awhile to load up) or my site The Lexus Resource Center at theLexusresourcecenter.hom.../main.html Okay but what about in person? E-mail me, I'll give you an address where we can meet, or if you need a reason I'll send you a business ad for a camp ground that has small summer camps(really a LOC meeting ground). Do I sound like an ad for promoting sites or giving my camp ground business? If I do good, I want you to think that. I want you to think you do not need a site or meeting place to be united, because you are already united under a word, a title. Meeting each other and being at the same site is nice and I would like to see it happen, but it is not needed. I a LOC in my heart and nothing can take that away. I will always be a LOC and I will pass on what I have learned from all of you. Because I have learn something for all of you, even the quiet ones and I am united with all of you. I do not need to be online to be a Jedi or to teach others or to be united. Be a LOC is something in your heart, something that you feel in everyday life, something that your not afraid to share and stand with another person about. If you do not think the LOC are united, then you are missing the big picture and doubt yourself. Yes, you doubt yourself, you doubt unity, and you doubt the Lexus. Need futher explantion? Then leave your questions and doubts, and I will explain better on them. As always this is merely my point of view and I welcome your comments. It allows me to expand on what was not clear and add that which was left out. So, what doubts or comments do you have? May the Force be with you in your quest.
  9. You could get some covers made up to go over the headrests. I have seen this done before. Depends where you tend to park the car. I didnt bother with the wife's car and I have to say, DVD screens are no more expensive than a half decent car stereo nowadays
  10. A mate of mine got a car cleaning kit from his Nan (he was 15 at the time) The next year she got him an underwater torch ?????
  11. I use a Linksys wireless G and the reception is severly hampered by having to go through a 12" wall from the study to the rest of the house. Amazingly I used to get the same reception (very low) in the kitchen which is only 10' away as I did upstairs in the opposite side of the house. I moved the transmitter at the weekend only a couple of inches and cant get a reception anywhere now :yack: I have wireless in the office and find that it is as much the receiver on the laptop as the transmitter. Mine is alot worse than others inthe office - mine's a built in one with the Sony VAIO whereas the other guys in the office have external USB thingy's
  12. Er sorry but this doesnt help with the idea of car forums We should be talking about cars not bl00dy domestic devices by the way, Neff arent bad
  13. The wife has had to fly back to Dublin tonight for a funeral so I have a spare ticket for the match tomorrow. Amazingly, all my rugby mates are tied up at xmas do's or other stuff so I have 1 spare. Starts at 5pm, PM me if your interested
  14. Im on hangover day 2 following a 13 hour bender :duh: Did lunch in local Italian and then went to bar. At 9pm we decided to head in to London so I organised the transport. Phoned up the guy who I bought my lexus from as I know he's bought a limo for a bit of a laugh. So 15 minutes after deciding to go in to town, we had a stretch limo outside the bar - how cool was that B) He was heading in to town to pick up a couple of girls from a lap club so we had to stay with him to keep him company and didnt get back til 4am ps, he also organises in car lap dances at quite reasonable rates www.limo999.info- not that I would condone such activities
  15. The following is from last weeks SUnday Times Motoring section; There are also a lot more pics here
  16. Thats the first thing I said when I saw it in the flesh at MPH 03 on Saturday. It is a mean machine but this is the tame version costing £50k There is a bigger engined monster coming out for track day use which is closer to £75k I admire TVR for breaking away from the generic mould on the styling front. Cars are getting so boring nowadays (apart from Lexus naturally) Well done TVR for creating such desirable and affordable cars - about time we showed the world what the British engineers can achieve. And as for the reliability I think they are a whole load better nowadays
