  1. He had only 185HP @ crank But it seems the dyno was doemn wrong.... he also put in 6th gear or such..... LINK (but it's German language)
  2. We had a member in EURO LOC who had this problem, the car didn't give the power what it should give as TTE says. So it took a while until the problem got fixed.
  3. I think....... IT'S AAAAWWWSOME MATE!!!!! :o B) D*mn great work you did there. Everything custom-work?? Respect man! Didn't take long time since I can remember you wrote the first post about it. :winky: Maybe you could do the work on Monster 2??? :D :o
  4. The Good Year looks good. Think it will be my next tyre...... Maybe 4 different tyres??? LeftFront Bridgestone RightFront Good Year LeftRear Pirelli RightRear Continental Then I can find out which is the best..... :duh:
  5. It's not only the drive, it's because the IS is very light in its rear, so you loose lot of traction. And in my opinion, those who say, the IS is good on snow..... I think they only don't want to hear any disadvantage of the IS. I also love the IS, but for winter I would choose another car. Also when my winter tires have been new 3 years ago.... it was terrible to drive on snow. :tsktsk:
  6. Hmm.... think ~4mm. Not much..... ← thought that might be the cause for your poor traction - mine have 11mm and no problems. winter tyres are not good with less than 4 or 5mm. ← Yes and at all I have 215/45 17'' tires 3 years old. At all this winter we didn't get snow for a very long time, so the turbo-power rubbed it off on the asphalt.
  7. Hmm.... think ~4mm. Not much.....
  8. Hi! Yes the IS IS bad on snow!! :tsktsk: I have Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22, but 3 years old, the tread is weared off. And it's pretty sh!tty to handle it. The IS is far too light to get traction at the rear, the engine is heavy, so the weight is more in the front, the IS's a*s does what he wants. At stop lights and crosses it takes minutes to get at speed.... Other cars blow their horn because I can't launch. So my question: Does it help to put some weight and how much weight in it?? If you can get a better car FOR WINTER...... take it. For summer I'm still happy to have choosen the IS.
  9. WOW! Awsome stuff m8. But that turbo can produce some lag I think. After lag you will feel a truck crashing in your back.... Oh... I killed my IS200T a bit today. We damaged the fuel pressure regulator. So the car hardly started and didn't even run any more.... DA*N! Now I'm forced to rebuild it finally to a return-system then it should fly. :D
  10. What was the problem finally??
  11. Hmm old topic eh?? :D My name is Mike (built in 1980) from Austria (not Australia *for Americans: we don't have kangaroos and boomerangs* :winky: ), I'm construction manager in a building enterprise for underground engeneering (channels, streets etc.). Hobbies: Motocrossing, Tuning cars and of course drive them, diving, skiing, water skiing, skating, computer games, telling jokes. After I sold my KTM 620 (0-62 @ 4secs B) ) in April 2002, I bought my 2001 IS200 almost new (no pre-owner except the LexusDealer himself) in August 2002 for ~24k €. Started with the first mods in spring 2003 (HKS exhaust). Since then I've spent a total of about 8000€ on mods. :duh: :)
  12. you must be joking, that looks like the bmw 1 series ← Yes but Lexus wanted to save on costs, so they took the BMW 1 and gave him the old IS200's front. ;) *hmpfchh* :shutit:
  13. Instead of :tsktsk: around with senseless things like this, they should watch out for hi-jackers!! What is a panda car??
  14. Got it.... I confused your IS with "DaveEllen's" SCed and NOSed Lexus.
  15. No! The Walbro pump should fit into the stock fuel unit and the pump doesn't need an external FPR. But for a turbo charged car you would need one. Only then it's able to get enough fuel under heavy load. And you would need to rip out almost the whole fuel system. Pull a line from tank to the fuel rail (engine) get out of it into an adjustable FPR and pull a return line back to the tank. The kit includes fuel unit (with return line fitting and no intern fpr) fuel lines, fpr, I could also get fuel rail and injectors, but those were for the IS300, so they won't fit.
  16. I confused something.... didn't know about the IS300. :duh: Don't know his name, but somebody has a red Lexus IS200 with SC and NOS. So I thought it was you....
  17. I thought you already have it.... thought you was running SC and NOS?!? :duh: Or who was this then??
  18. but isn't it front-wheel drive......... ← Yes FWD.... [WHISPERMODE ON] But there is a great turbokit available for it.... :winky: [/WHISPERMODE OFF] :D
  19. Lexus IS300 with 5-speed manual transmission..... B)
  20. In my opinion you will have more drive-fun with the Celica. It's lighter and quicker. B)
  21. A real cheap way would be.... to cut off the ignition wire and put a switch there. You can let it turned on always, but when you go shopping where it could be dangerous.... turn it off and that m :tsktsk: r_f :tsktsk: r can't start your car's engine. Hide the switch somewhere, where it would take some time to find, when he doesn't know. It would give you enough time to kick his a**. B) Only an idea I would do. In my opinion I could turn the airflow signal off with a screw driver on my fuel cut defender...... and the engine would stall immediately.... that moron who tries to steal my car, wouldn't even be able to drive 3 meters.... :D I could stand next to the car and ask the car-jacker: "And?? Got it?? *har-har*!!" B)
  22. Too bad to hear that mate. It seems to be a new kind of sports there eh?!? :tsktsk: You should do something.... put a baseball bat in your car or always look around before you get to your car. That would be the cheapest way. Before chistmas 2003 we had 70-80 car break-ins in only 1 parking garage for 1 shopping center. People let their TVs, DVDs or something in their cars and when they got back, everything was stolen. This year..... nothing.... nevery heard anything, because we had securities now. I told you this, to react quickly, find ideas and do something against those :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: ...... Feeling with you and hope that this doesn't happen to anybody else.
