    Done this today thanks for the guide.. Hoodrich I used cheap LEDs and so far no warning light.. Maybe you had a loose connection somewhere ? They do seem quite fiddly to fit.

    160,000 on mine with only part history. I did take a chance but followed my instinct as I fell in love with car straight away. Serviced it myself,changed belts,discs . Only had to replace fuel pump and it's flew through 2 MOTS. These truly are a great car.

    Just get one you won't regret it. Mines an auto and I get 40 mile off £10 and that's just driving round town and I drive quick. I get alot more on the motorway.

    I tried to get the 2 hoses off yesterday but they wouldn't budge , tried wd40 but the hoses are solid and fixed tight to the matrix pipes .. I must of disturbed something though as the passenger side has got slightly Warmer.. :-) If I could get these off I'm sure a hose pipe and some rad flush up that matrix will clean it out.. Any tips ??

    @peteshawn that's one of the most ridiculous comments I've seen on this forum . Most new cars these days have large 7 - 10 inch screens for the sound entertainment system . Plus when you get a double din with built in say nav, TV/DVD and reverse camera it brings the is200 dashboard alive. Single CD players look so tacky and dated.

    Get a double din stereo or buy a standard size unit and purchase the facia kit from eBay. Double din looks far better and more natural though. Also bear in in mind if you have the se or sport model you will need to bypass the amp otherwise you will lose superior sound quality.

    I get exactly the same rattle . I believe it's the heater matrix that can get blocked . My passenger side heat temperature is cooler than the drivers side ... Is there a way to flush this .?

    Done mine today , I just used the pitcock drain valve and let it drain, filled it back with distiller water to flush it . Then refilled with new antifreeze . Job done .

    Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes,it will reset the ecu. Sounds like the car could be in limp mode. Any lights on dashboard ?

    Already used the belt lubricant spray , it works but as soon as the damp and cold weather comes back the squeaks return .. Anyone know what the garage costs are to replace the belt ?

    I honestly don't see the point in getting a top tray sat nav. Just upgrade youre current stereo system do a double din cd/DVD and sat nav combined unit and kills 2 birds with one stone. Not only does it give you easy to use sat nav but also upgrades the dash to modern da spec . Or am I missing something here ?

    Mine went on me a few months ago.. It become intermittent and worked now and then until it completely stops.. Can you hear a humming noise ? The pump is located under the back seat passenger seat and can be accessed and replaced with a few tools. Good tip for you when it won't start.. Get someone with a light hammer to tap the top of the pump (under the back seat) as yo turn it over and it will start for you. I got a second hand complete unit off eBay for £60 .

    I had a drive of my sister in laws brand new golf last week and couldn't wait to jump back into my is200. :-)
