  1. Unfortunately it says "No part available with ID#" or similar. I shall just have to extract the DVD from the bowels of the boot and check on eBay with mr satnavi Thanks anyway BJ
  2. My RX400h SE-L 55 plate has done 120,000+ miles. Took it in to Lexus Guildford yesterday for its service. I was given a brand new 450h [no charge] and I got back a 400h that felt as 'tight' as the 450h and almost everything was changed - except brake pads - at least 10,000 miles left and cleaned and key battery changed [no charge either]. They left an order form for a new 450h in the glovebox! Really impressed with Lexus Guildford...... :D Thanks Steve.....
  3. Although have 'Goalkeepers Hands' I obviously didn't give a big enough bang. Now it works perfectly! Thanks for the tip. :D Beejay
  4. Thanks DR but I want to change the Topic Line spelling mistake and I don't seem to be able....... :)
  5. Having once posted 'upholder' instead of cupholder I would love an edit facility to correct any errors remaining in perpetuity :)
  6. If the 450h battery is similar to the 400h it isn't a long range battery afaik. I had a fault in my tiny aux battery which stopped the 'real' engine from starting and I managed barely a mile and a half on the 'big' 350? volt one before I ran out of juice. Fortunately just inside my garage as it happened..... Someone is now going to tell me my 'big' battery needs replacing.......... :)
  7. The fact that the 450h has a bigger battery rather proves the point doesn't it?
  8. I fancy upgrading to a 450h with head up display - anyone have a head up display equipped 450h?
  9. Any clues how to open it? 55 reg RX400h S-EL For 'Upholder' - read Cupholder!
  10. I see other car makers have speed camera positions included in their Sat Nav setups......... Lexus where are you when we need you?
  11. Please ignore above! I found the 501 capless bulb - Doh! Not easy to get at unless you have tiny hands.........
  12. on the net it says 501 cqpless but my sidelight is rather like a miniature lighthouse with two sunken male blade terminals. Any clues as to why mine are so radically un -501 capless?
  13. My battery was changed yesterday and my mileage was around 29.5/31.5 but is now [on similar routings] showing 22.5. I guess I have to do the reset trick.
  14. OK, just back from Lexus Guildford and they checked all the software paths and managed to produce similar "Check Hybrid System" etc and it turns out [they think] that it was the new battery they put in about a month and a half ago. Changed the battery and a quick road test and I was free to go. No charge. Steve, my friendly contact said it is the first one they have had with this intermittent fault. There have been a few [very few] in other parts of the country and mainly during cold weather periods. I am a happy bunny and Lexus Guildford is a really good place to have one's car serviced IMHO. I think I will get a top range German [Varta?] battery replacement if any hiccup reoccurs.
  15. Dammit I knew I would tempt Providence by mailing this forum. Today I got in the car in garage and put the key in, the steering wheel lowered and the instrument lights lit up and there was the icy sign and 'check hybrid system' and the yellow engine block sign. No petrol engine start. Drove out of garage, down drive, into road - still no engine, just battery. "check hybrid system' lit up and disappeared as I checked other data. Turned round and headed home [total of about 1 mile and battery sign was getting very low. Got back to the garage - just. Used other car for 3 hours - returned and started car - READY sign appeared as did yellow engine icon and "Check Hybrid System" But the engine started and began charging the battery after few minutes, so drove onto road and engine assisted the beast. Drove for about 10 minutes - battery charged but still a yellow warning engine block icon so returned and shut down. Later the engine block icon did not stay on after starting..... Lexus at Guildford will do a check in 2 days time. Steve the man thinks it is a software problem. We shall see!
  16. Mine displayed the 'check hybrid system' on the first very cold night last week. Garaged but not heated. I called Lexus and they said to drop it in and they would do a quick check. However after a few minutes running, the warning [which was not on constantly but only on starting] disappeared. Never to return even though being outside at chilly Cliveden House for two nights. My guess is a software update might be the answer.
  17. The RX450h has the advantage of a bigger battery [because of previous model problems with the tiny battery and no space for a larger one!] When I have done with my 400h it will be replaced with a 450h I think.
  18. 118,000 on a 55 RX 400h SE-L and is quiet, gives 30+ mpg, serviced regularly and only my mistake in a battery changeover caused any problems. Rectified for less than £200 inc new battery. All the extras work as per normal. Love my Lexus almost as much as my Supra MKIV VVTi Twin Turbo - both beautifully put together...... BJ
  19. We have a Merc CL500 which drives us mad with intermittent sensor beeping and the indicators are intermittent too. Been back a few times with little effect. So glad our 55 RX 400h just has the colour tv reverse screen. No annoying beeps!
  20. Grab my coat on the way out too! Doh! Happy Christmas Lexus lovers...... :hohoho:
