  1. ill take some pics and get them posted. It does look the dogs as Parthiban said its just the upgraded se spec, which means it has chrome trim around the dials, grey inside the front and tail lights and full leather.s
  2. Im after getting my dads lex next year, same colour as the second one with 11 spoke wheels, but no hids :(
  3. Has the car had any engine work. Now thats the kind of 1st Gen IS that gives the new one a run for its money in terms of looks. Very nice looking car, is it a IS200?
  4. I like them both, but you should of lent a 2005 model, with 11 spoke alloys, and rear lip as i think the 2004 < models do look dated. Ill post a pic of my dads which i will be buying next year, despite ill only be 21! Thanks
  5. Yeah he was. I never normally race, because i feel the car likes to be driven 'correctly' (Ie not raced or thrashed) Yes, and where i live there is a couple of IS200's knocking around, with chav owners. Thats why im looking out for an IS300 at the moment.
  6. I beat a Lexus IS200 the other day comming onto a motorway. I drive a 1.6 VW Bora 'W Reg' with 74200 miles on the clock. The chav kept looking at me at the lights and was reving, so i booted mine away from lights and he could not catch me. Despite i ended up doing 120mph before i couldnt see him. And 120mph is flat out in my car.
  7. http://forums.pepipoo.com/ Goto there and post your full story. They help with speeding and parking fines, and know all the current in's and outs to the law. It even helped me escpase 3 points & £60 fine!
  8. Depends what Lex garage you go. When i was looking to change my 51 Plate IS200 to a brand new IS200, i was told £10500 from manchester, and £13500 from Stockport!!
  9. The last IS200's didnt have HID's did they. My parents got a 2005 IS200, think it could of been one of the 'facelift' models. It Has small rear spoiler, 11 spoke wheels, some chrome in the dials, & full leather. Its a IS200SE They did have a IS200 SE (2001 model) and that came with non of the above
  10. The brakes are fine once the car has been run for a bit. How could air get in thou?? Ill ask stockport to do a rolling road check once the brakes are fully cool to see if it would pass an MOT.
  11. Hi All. I am defo going for a Lexus, and it has to be an IS300. Some little chav in there Lexus IS200 (with a TRD Badge on the back) tried racing me, but i got away quicker, and he didnt catch up down the motorway. By the way, i drive a VW Bora 1.6 at the moment, and if my car is quicker than an IS200, i would rather settle with the lower fuel costs of a 1.6. An IS300 is the car i am looking for, ill just have to save a few more pennies :(
  12. Do you think Lexus and Vax would let me take a Used car for a day to rack some miles up. The lexus is pulling me a little bit more, mainly because of the styling. I would of course, want 11 spoke alloys insted of the 5, so anyone got any ideas if a dealer would change them?? Also do the IS300 come with boot spoilers and any body kits, or are they bog standard. Anyone got any ideas how much i would be looking for a IS300 2002 - 2003 with lowish miles on. Thanks
  13. Thanks, Im still unsure as when i press the pedal, it feels as thou the pads are worn, but when they warm up they are fine, To me it feels like there is air in the brakes, but ill have my dealer to look at it Thanks
  14. Bazza. How much did you pay for yours and what reg is it on, and milage. Ill have to test drive them both, but i am very unsure of what to choose. Thanks for your advice, and the Lexus badge is defo better.
  15. I just dont like the looks of the Sport Cross, and am i right in thinking these are again more money?
  16. Hi All. My dad owns a Lexus IS200SE 2005 and when you get in the car early morning, travel at about 30mph and press on the brakes hard, the car takes quite a while to slow down, compared to if you have been in the car for around 20 mins. They have taken the car to Lexus Stockport, but they have just advised them "It will pass an MOT, and nothing is wrong". My dad is mainly worried as if they need to stop quickly, the car will not when it has only been running for a few mins. Any idea what the problem could be? Thanks
  17. Not keen on the Sport cross. Unsure on how much money they loose you see, but they are a little cheeper. I have looked and i think i will pay around £16000 for an IS300 on a 53 plate, but i do like both as my parents currently have a 05 Plate IS200SE
  18. Has he had the Vauxhall. Also, i dont know if i want a fully auto box at 21? Thanks
  19. Hi All. Im currently 21 and now looking for a new family car, but i also want a quick one. My options are either a IS200 (little slow thou), and IS300 or a Vauxhall Zafira 2.0i 16v Turbo GSI. For a Vauxhall im looking around £14500 for a 2004 with 15000 miles on the clock, and i have read good reviews about reliability. This model is top of the range, but does not include things such as sat nav, heated or electric seats. Insurance is around the same price, but for some reason the Vauxhall is tempting me, becuase of the size, as also looks very sporty for a people carrier. Thanks for your advice. Marsden1002
  20. If its for sale put it in the 'For Sale' Section
  21. A very good question matey!! I was told that the dealers do not know the "codes" to enter. If anyone can find out they will try. Is it that simple? We need someone in the USA at a dealership to tell us what to do, and the dealers can try. I'm off to the states later this year, and will try and get a dealer there to talk to my dealer here. Jamboo, I'm there most of the time..back again Monday, so will speak to Richard in Lexus Westside in Houston and see if he can supply the codes. Tango - cheers buddy!! My dealer defo mentioned that it's codes they enter into the system. They don't know what the codes are - not released by Lexus for Europe. That means either the system will take the codes, or the OS in the won't allow it and hence the codes have not been released. Either way, we should try it. As someone who was a victim of an attempted carjacking/boot snatch and grab twice, I really want the feature. Luckily my Audi was enabled with autolocking which saved me both times!! PS - even the crappy 307 and 407 SE's I've been bombing around in for work auto fold the mirros when locked...ALSO I always thought Pug diesels were smooth and quiet...boy these are rough!! 1.6HDi and 2.0/2.2HDi are pants compared to the IS220d!! I should think that a Peugeot feels pants compared to a £22,000 + car.
  22. Cheers. Ill have to hunt around for some speaker which are similar.
  23. Any one know if i can just purcahse the speakers then, and wire the amps myself Looks like my idea has been cut short
  24. Hi All. I am wondering how much a full sound system out of a IS200 SE would cost, inc all the amps and everything, or the nearest speakers. I find the sound system quite good, and would possibly like to install it on another car (as the Lex is going) if the price is right. Cheers!
