The 220d is manual only (unfortunately), I'm assuming the 320D was an auto ? Yes. Didnt realise you couldnt have Auto in the 220D. That has put me off then!!! Yeah, it didnt seam to drop down when you booted it, navigation was a pain to delete destinations, my wife managed to get the key out with the engine running (unsure how she did this) but the parking aids are superb!

The IS220d SE is pretty nippy from 30 mph in 3rd and you will feel the turbo kick in if you floor it. Is that even in D mode. Dont think ill be buying one in the near future anyways, as this BMW has put me off a Diesel.

Hi, My car has just gone in for repair (2005 Lexus is200 SE) and i have been loaned a BMW 320D (2006 model). When getting away from traffic lights, junctions very quick from 0, it takes a second or two for the turbo to kick in, and have found this a pain when getting out into small gaps. I know, because of this problem, my Lex could have iy away to about 30, but i am wondering does the new one have this problem, or is it just the germans. Also, at around 85mph, i have to fight with the steering to keep it in line, but with my Lex it stays in a line no matter what Cheers,

I can choose where it goes, as it is not my fault. So, why will adamsons do it ASAP, while Lexus cant because they need a hell of a lot of documentation to back up the car was stolen, and they will get there money. Not to ars*d that i aint getting a Lexus anyways, as i do not like the new ones, and will not purcahse on in the future.

why would they need the police report? it has nothing to do with them - i can understand the payment part tho. But on the other hand what type of insurance do you have?? 3rd party or comprehensive? If you have comprehensive I would be slightly ****** off and get back to your insurance company as they have to claim off the other driver/owners insurance company, you dont wait until the claim has gone thru and you have recieved the money before you can get your car repaired. Fully comp - Cant insure a £25,000 car third party!! Insurance send cheque as some tit took the front wing off changing lanes a few week ago. Hi All. I own a Lexus IS200 2005, and someone crashed into it the other day. To cut a long story short, a car was shunted into it, by a stolen car. I rang my insurance who said i could claim of the stolen car (the guy who owns it) and so i rang Lexus Stockport (where i got the car) and they could not offer my a car while it went in for repair. So i rang someone else, and they said it may take at least a month before work could start, as they needed a poilce report (as it was stolen) and some facts that they would get there money. All in all, not a happy man because Lexus sold me the car, but aint intrested as soon as i need something doing to it - if im not paying!!!!

Hi All. I own a Lexus IS200 SE 05 plate, and when i open the boot, it bangs of the hinges. Is it ment to open this fast, or is there some kind of spring to prevent this. I used to own a 51 Plate SE and didnt have this problem Cheers

Might be all Lexus Wheels. I own an 2005 IS200SE, and before that a 2001 Lexus IS 200SE. The 2005 is not 1 year old, and all wheels are being replaced due to "pitting". The old lex has new wheels on just before i sold it to lex due to the wheels being correded

Lexus stockport CAN NOT DO your Geometry for you, thay did lexus jim's car and made a right mess of it. well thay can and will charge you, but it WILL NOT BE RIGHT. :o Get the wheels changed, and go somewhere else to get Geometry done :D how will i know if its wrong. What is the geometry anyway?

Hi. Droped my IS200SE 2005 into lexus Stockport today, and was told the wheels had pitted (and are replacing under warranty) and that the Geometry of the car was incorrect, causing it to wear the tyres wrongly. I have to pay for the second thing, is this not under warranty and if not, what causes it? Thanks Marsden1002

The SC is like the TT - but with the added £££ price tag. I know its off topic, but will Lexus "sort out" the SC. As im sure the new LS can out preform the SC

On my old lexus (51 plate IS200 SE) i got a massive crack. Autoglass replaced it, broke my rear view mirror - which they tried to glue back on. In the end, i got a new rear view mirror, shards of glass and glue over the dash, and what looked like the wrong tint to the windscreen. Was not impressed, but did not complain enough :(

But surely not at Stop Signs. That would be taking things a little too far IMO. Si Instant fail if you dont put handbrake on @ lights. Also, i would like to add that my dad owns a Merc Vito Van (2005) and his has a footbrake. Has to hold it on the cluch every single hill, as it is a mission to try to release it when moving away.

Good. Looks good. fully loaded / cheeper than a BMW retain value quite good (unsure now new IS250 is out) Bad: Slow of the mark engine thrashs itself sometimes (doing 32, place foot to floor, it revs very high then changes - no need to) can manage to get back end out with TC on handle's a bit bad,

Its rubbish. Where i live the Snow mode does nothing, apart from make throttle less responsive. It still spins like hell, back end still tries to go opposite way to the front end! ← That's pretty normal for about 90% of all rear-wheel drive cars anyway... ;) L. ← Yeah, I was just disapointed. Bought the car, got some snow and ice and acts like this. Know its a problem with most rear wheel drive cars, but the car is still quite skidy on the rear end. For example, i pulled out in front of a car on a roundabout, turned right and back end kicks out (even with TRC on!) Anyways, im still impressed with the car, only thing is the power of it (IS200 SE - Auto 05 plate )

Ah this is an 05 Plate. I only did that to show a mate how nice it sounded, as the thought his Peugeot 306 T16 sounded better. His car may go faster, but mine sure does sound a lot nicer, even when pushed to the red line!
