  1. Hey there, anyone knows if Preston coolant are suit IS220D ? Its not pinky colour as we know but says its suitable for all cars. Git good deal for 10L. and thinking to use for my car. Any thoughts welcome..
  2. Anyone know if Preston suit is220d even though said on the tin that its good for any engines!! Bought 10l a while ago but not 100% . Any knowledge much appreciated.
  3. Hi James, I did changed the thermostat on mine but I have 220D so not 100% its in the same spot though. ..should be. Anyway, it took me around 2hours to reach and take the old one out :-0 its a loads of hosepipe to move away and I dont think I'll do it again plus in top of that, when job finnished all lights on dashboard came on so I need it reset ecu by removing overnight the battery. Relief in the morning when everything was back to normal. I deffo won't do it again. But that just me. The worst to reach was the 3 screws wich are holding the thermostat literally were pain in the ars to remove as needs special extensions. Maybe with right tools I don't know but I alone I was struggling. Hope ur doing better then me.
  4. I've bought an is220d@7k £ last year an 08' with 80k miles and its a SE with nearly 3k upgrades on it wich includes folding/heated mirrors, sat nav, reverse cam, leather seats cooled/heated and was my 1st diesel ever but as much as I love petrol engine I wouldn't afford the 250 model! If you do mostly motorway mileage and you look at your mpg once in a while then 220D its the only option. If you dont care about mpg you can't get any better then is250 :-d ... but thats just my opinion .
  5. Ahmedali44 has a good point: if you do town drive you need unleast once a month to hit the motorway. I do twice a month unleast coz my city driving! Use Miller additive coz cant put my hands on Archoil *no delivery in ROI* but happy with Miller. I wouldn't put Redex or Winns as juicestop mentioned also above/ just not sure.
  6. Replaced mine @ 5months ago when purchased the car (new EGR valve was included :-0 ) and since I've no trouble at all with it. Checked twice in 5 months and just a black shadow/dust more like it but not clogged! ! I do use always Miller additive and I'm staying away of cheap diesel. By the way the old egr sold it on ebay.co.uk for 150£ as was good as new ;-d

By the way the old egr sold it on ebay.co.uk for 150£ as was good as new ;-d..but yeah, I remember when I checked for buying EGR valve for is220d very rarely you mite came across coz they're very easy to clean and don't get broken really!
  8. Who said they were dodgy? Are you speaking from experience? The one I bought was legit and half the price so why go to Lexus? I think there problem here is some people are to scared to touch their cars, like the type of person who drives to the dealer to put a new battery in there key! Shortly, well put it !!!
  9. A load of rubbish info with this "Toyota" - only pink coolant !!! I've got Prestone wich has all "zero" contains as Toyota coolant and no problem at all. Happen to have same problem as no heating + gurgle noise so after thoroughly investigation found out 2small leaks corners radiator hence the air getting inside the system and giving the gurgle noise. Flushed all system and ad Prestone "All makes All models" # add to any colour antifreeze !!!!! But do not add water !!
  10. Lol. Most people are sign for this site in order to avoid dealers ripp off prices but hey, some advertising also. Nice try DJP.Lol twice
  11. The difference in sizes its not widely but highly!!!! Its 20mill higher then the front once hence the aerodynamics and sporty looks also.
  12. Hi everyone, I have a '08 is220d bought like 6months now and never got the service book from seller. Anyone knows if its possible to get it somehow from somewhere? A Lexus dealer it might be able to help in this matter? The reason I'm looking for its because I heard that Lexus offer 7yrs or 110k or something like that warranty for the engine? Wonder if I am still covered. . . Cheers.
  13. Most of motor factor shops sell them for @4-5 a box of ten usual.
  14. Tj autoparts don't have 220D option for choosing only 250 petrol engine! Same Romford radiators but emailed to both and wait to see, very hard to find for Lexus radiators/ looks like or its very controlled market or they so reliable that they don't fail so its not worth it for manufacturers to bother make them :-o / I don't know. Thanks for tips anyway. Much appreciated.
  15. Hi everyone, any ideea where I can put my hands on a radiator new/used ? Mine has tiny leaks on both top corners and have been told its no repairable. Thank you upfront for any tips.
  16. Don't wanna sound like a bad news guy but lads, if your coolant level its dropping and you top up once in a while you definitely have a leak somewhere and needs to be sorted, or you'll get dipper in trouble along the way...and dipper in ur pockets too! I've got quoted 240 +vat from Lexus garage for radiator replacement so I guess its not to bad. Anyway that's 1st step to be taken in my case anyway, in order to fix my heating problems.
  17. Hi again, a new update: The gurgle noise, in my case, is coz the radiator leaks wich obviously needs to be replaced !!! ..so Kev, gurgle noise means air trapped inside the cooling system only !!!! .. and by the way there's a small plastic No.6 hex head on the top left handside of the radiator(watching from outside facing the car, of course) for bleading the system. No one mention abouy this so I thought I'll update for all our is220d owners as I didn't know.! 2mor I'll try Kev advice and I'll ask at my local lexus dealer for a actuator as they were v. helpful in past and hope to get a scheme of what is look like and where to check for it. A good think from all this so far, came out last nite, when after a dreadful 2 hours labour I manage to pull out the thermostat and after boiled in a small pan to check if its working properly open/close(wich he does ..:-d ) took another hour work to outt everything back!@hard work , I wouldn't do it again !!! To not mention that all usual VSC, Traction Control Off and The Red Triangle came on my dashboard after all but with lucky guess, heard of here on forum that disconnecting the battery mite reset the ECU, today I disconnected the battery for about 40min and when put it back all was back to normal..uffff..big relief !! Keep you posted as usual .
  18. Thanks Kev for reply, I guess the Lexus dealer ideea sounds good and I'll try monday to go to them see what they might came up with . There's always a chance that the problem to be somewhere else, thats what I found annoying. Keep you posted.
  19. Hi Prash, I have a '08 with 85k mileage but no history at all when I got the vehicle 5months ago !! Do you kniw if I'm still qualified in that 7yrs or 110k bracket?Cheers
  20. A last week update: I did took chance and put in "radweld" wich bought from Halfords, heard mite fixe the problem and guess what, no more gurgle noise next days but, my heater problem still there :-( Driver side slightly heating even if set maximum on heat and like b4, passenger side still. . .cooling ufff Also heard that closer cap from cooling container mite create this kind of problems sometimes, but doubt it!
  21. Hey there, can you be more specific? Can be easy fix by myself or its more serious? I'm not afraid get bit dirty plus like to know that its proper done ( when its fixed by myself). I'm a picky person. Plus, try to not bother Lexus dealers if you know what I mean :-$
