New To Lexus. My Is300H
Blisteringblue replied to GazJSmithy's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Nothing wrong with an SE. We get the emissions to 99g :luck: Think of the environment folks :D -
And with a nice chrome surround it screams "Steal Me" if you are to leave it in the car. Well it's certainly easy enough to use. I'm only using the sticker mount that came with the camera, the suction one is an extra. I will give it a go for a bit anyway, will tidy away the cable a bit better over the weekend, as the loose cable distracted me more than the camera. The release clip is easy enough but its not something I can leave up. Will see how long until I get bored doing that

Just been given one of these by work http://uk.transcend-info.com/Products/No-498 as one of our pilot users. The fleet insurance people want us to try them out and are offering 20% off the group policy if we install them. I've only stuck it up behind the mirror for now and loose cabled back to the arm rest 12V. Will give it a go for a couple of weeks, but it does just seem in the way?

Nice report, you are correct though, company car drivers don't get it yet with this car. I've had mine since last June and keep a geeky spreadsheet against, Tax, contribution (It's slightly over my monthly limit) and Fuel +/-. Needless to say taking all that into account this car has cost me -£500 in that time. Yes, you make money driving this car. But Shhhh it's a secret. I'm still the only one at our business with one. From 1st April though it won't be as good with the extra 2% on the tax and the reducing fuel rate from the Gov, but it's still going to be a free car at worse. Happy Days

Loading New Firmware
Blisteringblue replied to hansaplast26's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Just take it up to your nearest Lexus, they normally do it while you wait. I just asked for mine to be done at the first service. -
Picked Up Our New Is300H :)
Blisteringblue replied to ganzoom's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
It's something odd like the following to get to the software version Cycle the headlight switch On/OFF 3 times while holding down MENU Select service information Select version information Select EMV-M Just out of curiosity what is the version number of your sat nav too. You need to take the little SD card out from the slot, it's just written on it. I did have the latest back in June as 86271-53242 Cheers Edit: Just checked http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/ and there is an update from 2014 Q4, but they can kiss the north side of my backside if they think I'm paying £165 for it. -
Traffic Info From Internet
Blisteringblue replied to hansaplast26's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
D is fine for internet traffic. What happens if you just turn your phone off altogether before starting the car? Then surely it must attach to the MIFI? I used to use my iphone as the hotspot but it didn't like to be connected by both wifi and bluetooth. The wifi was fine but the phone ended up terrible. I swapped to a MIFI running a giffgaff data sim. This works brilliantly all the time, uses about 50mb a month for traffic, the kids use the rest with ipads etc. However all I did was not turn on the hotspot on the phone? Then all it did was connect to the MIFI. -
Company Car Fuel Rates
Blisteringblue replied to Blisteringblue's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
If it's your car DJP then that is correct, our cars are provided by the company and while they don't have to follow the HMRC rates most tend to. -
Company Car Fuel Rates
Blisteringblue replied to Blisteringblue's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Some of my colleagues with the eco diesels are seriously ticked off, they are down to 9p a mile for the under 1600cc models. Will cope with 20p, I'm still waiting until there is a hybrid fuel rate like the one for LPG. The party will be well and truly over when they do that. -
Boo! Just been issued our new company car fuel rates from 1st March. Above 2.0L Petrol down to 20p a mile (from 24p) We've been rumbled, no more totally free car. How will I cope.

Just clocked 25K and got mine June 19th last year

Real World Mpg Pretty Disappointing
Blisteringblue replied to Theo87's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
The electric still helps when on the motorway though, there is no way a 2.5l petrol would get 50+ at 70mph otherwise. It seriously will improve. I'm getting around 48mpg now for an full month average and it was closer to 55 in the summer. Still happy with both because I'm a company car driver and at current levels this is a totally free car to me :winky:- 8 replies

Tank Range Targets
Blisteringblue replied to Rabbers's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
More than that I think, I went to zero with around 20 miles to get home last week. Filled up at start of next journey and still only managed to get 59 litres in, so by reckoning still 7 litres left. -
Is300H In The Snow
Blisteringblue replied to Steve44's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Had a couple of goes in the snow over the last 2 weeks, and the Lexus did perform well. I agree about the snowplow effect though, had to scrape it all out yesterday in North Wales. I still don't think we have a climate for Winter Tyres though, the expense is just too great for the 3 days of snow each year. Driving in snow isn't difficult, it is all about steady driving and anticipating what is ahead. Still baffles me when drivers (some with 4x4s) think that 10 mph is the only way to drive in bad weather. -
The line guidance is there, but they are tiny and you can easily miss them. While I was singing the traffic praise earlier I have noticed in the past week it has started taking me through some seriously built up areas thinking they were quicker than motorway delays, only to crawl along in city centres without traffic info. One of these was Birmingham City Centre and was a 'kin nightmare, although got to see the nice 3D pics. Did it again today through Chester getting around to North Wales. Will have to watch out, it's only a recent thing, been pretty spot on until now.

I'm a TomTom man and it was like going back to 2004 with the Lexus interface but once you get used to it it is OK. I like the 3D buildings in city centres. However the online traffic is every bit as good as TomToms live traffic and at the end of the day that is the most important to me. Routing engine does some bizarre things every once in a while (takes you off at a junction only to take you straight back on)

Audio / Nav Frustration
Blisteringblue replied to Rileys1's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Isn't that just a setting you can turn on/off? Yes but it doesn't seem to work on F. I've toggled off and on but still nothing. Only worked for me with "D" from the factory. Nothing since F -
Typical Is300H Motorway Fuel Consumption
Blisteringblue replied to sc489's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Or just be boring like me, shove it on cruise at around 75 and my mpg is rock steady at 50+. In summer it's closer to 55 than I'm finding now in Winter, but my average from 1st Dec is still currently 50.7 on the clock. When I work out actual from the company car expenses it will round down to about 47-48 but I'm more than happy with this. PS. I am about 75% motorway BTW
